I am of the opinion that the scanning turret should be swapped to the bottom. It will help with making the firing turret more useful (2 size 2's still aren't great) and since the aquila doesn't have the range of actual exploration people say it's more for exploring planet surfaces. So if that scanner is used to point down on a surface then put it in a more protected position

I believe this is the only model of the Connie series that comes with both the P52 Merlin and an URSA Rover. You get a three for one with this ship. This ship is just a gimped Andromeda at the moment but when the new Scanning Tech comes on line this will be a highly sought after ship I believe. Also I think because of the Connie Series' popularity among the community and because I think this was originally from the way he talked about it Chris Roberts' favorite ship out of the original batch I think the whole series is going to get a lot of love during the Gold Standard Pass. I think the whole Connie series will shine once the gold pass is done.
@@Farrister I was about to comment the same - I really do hope the gold standard will make all the Connies shine again the way they did when they first were released ... as anything over the years the design and the tech has aged and needs a bit of love to bring it up to par with ships like msr, the upcoming corsair and the like. Connie is still my favorite ship in the game and the one that I paid for with real $$.

Nice and great video to showcase the Aquila. Currently owned one as I upgraded it, love it for its front curved window and can't wait for the exploration gameplay in future.
I ended up choosing the 600ie over this ship due to the amenities. But the Aquila is a great variant of the Connie, especially the bridge. Although as mentioned, the co-pilots don't really get much in view. But I think what could make it better is giving it the C section of the Phoenix and outfit that top deck with perhaps science lab, decent crew quarters, baths and a rec area. Still keeping the docking ports, and keeping the cargo below deck. Section B could be suit storage, weapons and escape pods (maybe arranged vertically). Excellent video as always.
I also went with the 600Ie, but still have the Aquila as a loaner for the Corsair. I agree with your assessment of that overhaul as I would keep one if it was outfitted in this manner.
You forgot to mention one the major bugs in all the the Constellation variants - if you land the ship on a slightly uneven surface (and I mean slightly) - lowering the front lift can cause the entire ship to explode. How these major bugs don't get picked up with all the testing they are supposed to go through before release is beyond me. I can only assume this bug was reported but not no one at CIG bothered to fix the issue.
That's a good looking ship. The curvy design of the front looks very sleek compared to it's other counterparts. It'll be awesome when that scanning array will come into play.
The Aquila has been one of my favorite flyable ships as well, but I think with this ship in particular, there's an aspect that you've missed. Unlike the Andromeda, which can perform combat roles quite effectively in stock configuration, the Constellation Aquila really suffers from a poor initial loadout -- its stock weapons are prone to extremely fast overheating, particularly if the ship is under any kind of maneuvering or shield-regen stress. With that in mind, replacing the weapon on the Aquila is, I feel, much less a matter of preference than it is on many other ships. It might be worth noting so in the future, as replacing 4 S4 weapons could be a pretty hefty up-front cost that means the Aquila won't pay for itself as quickly or easily down the line.
Rented this ship with REC to see how it fared in a simulated pirate ambush in Pyro, and I was very pleasantly surprised at how much damage it was able to soak up before it finally went boom. Combine that with the S4 weapons, very good hydrogen fuel efficiency, and the ability to bring an Ursa Rover, and I think that for many players, the Aquila will actually be one of the best ships for all-around exploration (especially with a crew of 2-3).
I've been skipping the Aquila-tour-videos, cause it's my all time favorite ship in the verse and I got to admit that... I was scared to hear things I didn't want to know. But since I found your chanel I thought I'd give it a shot. Thanks for that review. To me it's like a loveletter. Others may like it or not, but I can't wait, till Exploration becomes a thing in the 'verse and I'll be off "pinging" all of space 😍 Imagine a mining trip where the Aquila goes first, sending out pings and finds rocks, while your scan-turret-operator checks them for it's goods and you'll pass the information to a Hand full of Prospectors and Moles. Midterm there's gonna be food and planning in the Aquila... It's my dreamship, cause it always gets me dreaming😂 400i is too clean. Explorers got to dig into it and make themselfs dirty😉
Really glad you enjoyed it! I have a lot of respect for the Aquila, it's just a shame that currently, those features don't really get the most of the ship. I really hope in the future it blossoms as new gameplay comes online
@@Farrister if only the scan-turret would work... for now I wouldn't need too much of that new gameplay. I'd allready know how to put a good scanner into place😅 well, till then it's my favorite cargo hauler/ROC-Taxi 😢
The Constellation series is so iconic to Star Citizen. I wish the aesthetic of the ship attracted me in some way. In *_any_* way. But it doesn't, and so I've never added one to my fleet. I'm happy other folks love it, because an iconic ship like this needs its adherents.
Hello Verpine! Well, I really like the appearance of it. (at least on the outside) because It IS so iconic. Just "feels" like a star ship. But functionally they don't really hold a plave in my fleet. But after I get all my day 1 fleet squared away, I'll probably get a Phoenix just to have one in the toybox
It's not that great of a ship. It really shows it's age with regards to ship design. Hopefully, they did a ground up design for the Taurus which will then apply to the rest of the Variants.
@@shadow7037932 no, it's not a great ship. Seems to me there was a time when size 1 guns were to be the standard, size 2 were "the big guns" and the size 4s of a connie where monstrous. But as size 3s became standard, and dual shields became the standard defense against them, older designs such as the Aurora, and even the Hornet as well as the Connie's became relics of a bygone age. So in that I agree with you and Verpine. And I do hope they get "modernized." Still, I like the look of them. And even if they don't get modernized, they have the classic feel of a '68 GTO.
I know I am commenting on an older video but, on Fleetyards and SC Wikia, the Constellation set are classed as a Large Ship type, the Taurus is marginally longer at 63m (the other Constellation ships are 61m long).
Top turret should be the one with guns to provide air defence while parked on the surface. The crew lift doors pinch your feet when the hatches slam shut on them. They need to rework it so the lift floor stays exposed as the habitat floor, and the floor hatches should only close when the lift is lowered.
Lovely review! The Aquila was my favourite ship in the game for ages, though I'm leaning more heavily towards the incoming Taurus rework now as my interests swing from exploration to freight hauling.
@@Farrister Could I make a small suggestion? Adding a category for Intended Role to your reviews would be really helpful for learning about what the ship is supposed to do and just how well it does it! Obviously this only works for roles that have some sort of gameplay attached at this point, but it'd be great to get direct comparison against ships of similar jobs.
Actually I run both, the Aquila and the Taurus, which when operated with a teamed up crew can be a really winning team for planetary tasks while being able to mutually have their backs if thugs show up. When playing with a buddy I either use the Aquila for enhanced range and endurance, the Taurus hauls the bigger cargo jobs. The Connie isn't all efficient but versatile and a tough working horse you can count on.
I really like the Connie, but all the series have the same quantum fuel stores - the same range/endurance. To achieve parity you just need to match the quantum drives (and usually range comes at the cost of speed).
I have the Constellation Andromeda and I love this ship. I hate the fact since the docking update with the merlin it is just impossible to refuel or fix damage right now which is crazy. That bug needs to be fixes big time.
I feel all connies are a buy in game kinda ship right now as there is a lot of ships that can do everything they can sometimes better at similar prices. If the Aquila gets reworked they need to make the scanning turret separate from the combat turrets and give the ship 2 combat turrets with a remote scanning turret. Being an explorer you will need all the help you can get in your ship as being an explorer means being by yourself in deep space. nice vid as always
Great review of the Constellation Aquila Farrister. I have one but haven't flown it in the past few patches. I love the ship, and when I first got it, It was my go to cargo hauler. I always started out with the Cutlass Black to get enough capitol to load up the Connie, and then use it to build operating capitol. I'm an explorer, which it why I got it in the first place. When the get exploration into the game and better scanning, it will be a useful ship. I was never a fan of the Caterpillar even though it carries more cargo. I did find out that the Freelancer Max carries more, so I now use it for cargo. One thing I definitely wanted was a rover, and the Aquila comes with an Ursa Rover. That makes it easier to get around longer distances when landed on a moon or planet. Since the ship wasn't specifically designed as a combat ship, I have some that are built for that purpose only. The Exploration ships will have their role and I look forward to that coming out. Thank you for your report.
Are the beds/bunks supposed to be escape pods as well? Not a fan of the view when in the co-pilots seats. Their screens block a massive chunk of the view out the front.
@@Farrister Yup. Luxury really isn't my thing; the Aquila has this great, industrial interior. I know it isn't much different than the other non-Phoenix ones, but I really like it.
Great video! I couldn't agree more. I just love this ship in so many ways, I don't even care that most of its function is NOT functioning. I seriously hope that she works out to be a fantastic exploration vessel. As it stands, though, she runs bounties beautifully, and cuts a stunning profile in those asteroids around Yela!
Great ship; grinded up for it in-game and never really regretted it (despite the shield holes, and all the common Constellation flaws) - in fact it's got me considering melting up for one someday
@@Farrister A few reasons really; It looks fantastic in the default livery, it's ~slightly~ faster, I prefer the cockpit view, and it has the promise of eventual exploration gameplay. Have to add, I've always felt that with the tiny amount of firepower and coverage the Constellation turrets bring, it's better to swap them for something that's actually useful (even if right now its a jurassic park dinosaur). I'm actually currently sitting on a Taurus package, so once that's flyable and testable it could mix things up a little :D
I used to own one and melted it for a Drake Corsair. My problem is I love the ship but I want to love it more than I do. It's just been an issue for so long I moved on. They've finally made serious progress on helping it with SDF shields really helping, the snub working (ish), Increasing its health etc. Operator modes could really go a long way to make it even better. But you can't do all S5 fixed on it, size 2 turrets is laughable with the other ships we have now and it's still a big, easy to hit target that has to keep its nose pointed at fighters within 3km in order to attempt to use the missiles. I don't know. Maybe one day, but I've moved on.
It’s hilarious to think of how there might be crew in the bathroom or sleeping in their bunks behind the bridge, someone might open up the airlock on the ceiling or the elevator in the floor, venting the atmosphere and violently killing everyone
Nice review! I have my eyes on her for a long time. From the look she is my most favourite out of the Constellation series due to the way better looking bridge. I also like her the most from all the exploration ships right now. Single flyable with a lot of firepower for the pilot. I really hope that she will a get a second pass so the struts at the cockpit get cleared a bit more and also her interior gets a bit of an update. She feels old from the inside, you notice that she is one of the oldest ships ingame. For an explorer I wish for a bit more comfort on the inside. The bridge has room for a bit more tools for exploring. I will wait until exploring gameplay gets more flashed out, but I might pick one up then.
I sure hope the scanner has more than one use, like being useful spotting ships trying to reduce their emissions in order to go stealth, in addition to exploration and mapping use.
radars are going to allow deep scanning without ping so more stealth but only details will be IR EM etc and you'll have to get closer to idenitfy which is what recon ships should be for. The RSP gameplay will be essential to give details when we get CAG systems to allow RTS style navigation systems so like a ship with the globe things allow one ship to give advanced orders to fleet using visual and audio ques (idealistically)
Going by the way the Constellation's landing gear works, and the rule of 'if it fits, it sits' regarding all landing gear being in contact with the surface... a Connie can actually fit on one of the SMALL landing pads of the Kraken. Although unless it's the rearmost landing pad, or the frontmost landing pad (where you're aiming for the nose of the ship to overhang the deck), it'll block an adjacent landing pad. So you could operate an Aquila exploration ship from the deck of a Kraken quite easily, and without eating nearly as much deck space as you might think.
@@Farrister cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/780222774463168512/841323651957653554/2021-01-04.png You can see the Connie Aquila pretty clearly. It's not in contact with the Kraken except its landing gear. The Eclipse on the next pad is partly underneath those upper nacelles though, so it wouldn't be able to take off straight upwards if the connie were there.
I love the look of RSI ships and honestly wish that cig releases a sort of exploration variant of the Mantis since i see that as a mini Constellation lol
It's a Constellation so it's a great ship. But at least for now the Andromeda is better in every way. Great in combat as long as you don't let anything get too close. Buccaneers and Hurricanes with distortion scatterguns can be a real threat if you're swarmed with more than one. The cockpit is worse than the Andromeda. The struts try to block the reticle by narrowing in the middle and you can't even use the thicker side struts to block out the sun unlike Andromeda. There's even mildly blinding lights aimed at your eyes for some reason. Once scanning and exploration comes online there might be a good reason to get an Aquila. Until then the Andromeda is the way to go.
Most definitely. I tried to go S5 Distortion and S4 cannons to battle the Hammerheads in my Aquila. But the rounds didn't track each other well enough and shield holes prior to 3.13 kept me in the losing end once their friends would show. I would give it another go, but from what my friends have said. The HH's have gotten tougher. Their original solo load outs in other ships are barely scratching. And, work is getting busy with the lack of people lol.
Love my Akwilla. Yep that’s how I say it and I’m glad you make that sensible choice as well Mr Farrister! I think the bridge is superb. Like I said before I just wish the green paint scheme was carried through to the snub fighter as well. Just the cargo bay bugs me at the minute as I’m sure you could activate it from the outside previously using the small illuminated panel at the rear. Loading a Rover single handedly is a real pain!
Great review ! I’ve always wondered why english/us people always use the pronoun « she » when they’re talking about a ship ? Always thought it should be « it » 😅
the Aquila pre 3:12 was a horrible over steering shield hole ridden death trap.... i now own one and it has quickly turned into one of my favorite ships .the top turret is unfortunate but at least the forward fire power of this ship is great . i hope one day with modularity you can swap out the top scanning station for a turret.
What you do is buy a Corsair ($215) and get an Aquila AND Buccaneer (total $420) as loaners. Until the Corsair comes out. Which is the ship you really want. But then you've fallen in love with the Connie so you buy a Phoenix.
I don't like the asymmetric design of the Corsair. And I also like the bridge of the Aquilla more than the one of the other variants. I might get me one as my explorer ship since the Carrack isn't also to my taste after she got changed from the first look at citizen con 2019.
@@vonrosphe3098 you got a point regarding struts and interior. You can see that the Conni is one of the oldest ships and I really hope she gets an overhaul at some point. Till then I will not pick one up.
I have the Constellation Andromeda and I love this ship. I hate the fact since the docking update with the merlin it is just impossible to refuel or fix damage right now which is crazy. That bug needs to be fixes big time.
I was looking at buy this for the onboard rover. I would think It would save some time from picking up a ground vehicle. Main reason is bunker missions.
I'd like to take Aquila in sight if the insurance was LTI, and have one of the most complete combos... I'm going to lean towards upgrading from Taurus. I'll be without Rover in exchange for having LTI on Aquila. If there's Aquila to have Rover, Merlin and LTI in some business, I'm interested.
@@Farrister Well, paying for the maintenance of the ship after 30 minutes of doing bounty hunting missions scared me how expensive it is. And that's without forcing the fact that you kill yourself by destroying the ship to get rid of the costs. Used Taurus has a significant expense, I imagine after destroying the ship, how much it will cost me to get it back. LTI still sees with good eyes, for now, no nod to Star Citizen's economy.
@@Farrister Detail, I usually play alone and that's horrible. For those who like to trade or deliver, it is very bad when you choose to vary into something more frenetic in PVE, your spending tends to be greater than your savings.
Only the upper 2 hard points will let you use fixed S5 guns for the pilot. CIG restricted the lower hardpoints to S4 gimballed only ages and ages back because S5 interfere and clip into the ground when landed.
Hi Farrister. I recently had an Andromeda and it had so many issues...could hardly ever retrieve it and when it did decide to retreive it would usually only have 2-3 engines and the firepower on those engines went with them. Reparing didn't help at all. Does the Aquila have any of these issues or others that would make it an issue? It would be my only ingame ship so having an unretreivable one would be a problem.
As with all ships, I would really like to see a window somewhere, maybe above the table or some panorama windows along the cargo bay, otherwise I just love the ship when it fails to kill me in the elevator.
I need to ask: is this ship worth the real money? It looks great and I absolutley love it. I want something to use solo with the potential for other people. this sounds just like right up my alley.
@@Farrister If only one could lease or rent ships. I think it's important to testdrive before buying EDIT: you can totally rent ships. I really need to play this game more often lol
@@Farrister right, I totally gave in. I bought the andromeda. I upgraded my nomad to an andromeda and my i325a to a prospector. And now I expect to never pay any more money :-D Your reviews have helped alot in this regard and on top they're fun to watch. So thank you for an amazing job!
@@Farrister well the interesting thing is the way they open. Unless the dock has a much larger piece that seals to the exterior of the ship. That swinging outer door would hit it lol
At the moment, yes. The Constellation series currently offers a good balance between solo and multi-crew, meaning it does either fairly well. Whether that continues to be the case in the future, who knows!
About the gimbals. I personally like fixed, so I upsize the weapons on my ships. The bottom gimbal mounts I can’t get off on my Andromeda? So I have 2 size 5’s and the 2 4’son the landing “legs”. Did CIG take the size of some 5’s into consideration? Or am I bugged? Alpha!!
2 points to add: First point, you can only swap the upper 2 gimble guns for size 5 weapons: the lower one don't have enough clearance and the gimble are fixed. Second point, specific for the A'quila (it's Latin a convention for every constellation in the sky in any language), the default M6A cannon are bugged and will overheat badly every 3 rounds: It is better to swap them for repeaters (as on the Andromeda) or Omnisky cannons (as on the Phoenix) which gives no problems at all. you can use ballistic, but the Revenat has much less ammo then the Mantis and way less then the Scorpion, so it's a bit tough configuration to promote. I think with the upcoming Taurus, we will finally see what CIG has in mind for a modernized version of the Connie and I guess the other variants will follow shortly.
ugh this ship looks so amazing, but I know, I know if I bought it I'd end up regretting it after a while for the limited functionality it has compared to other ships in the price range.
Great ships, i just cant get past that ugly gap between the lower rear engines and the body of the ship I understand they slide back and forth on a track but its so big you can see right through it so how are they connected to the ship 🤷♂️.

@@Farrister I sometimes put your videos on in the background if I’m aggravated and by the end I feel right as rain. You need to get into voice acting or radio. You’ve got the voice for it. 👍🏻
Probably the Andromeda, simply because it's cheapest. The Andromeda is your base model Constellation. The Aquila is more tailored to exploration, with one gun turret replaced with a scanning turret. The Phoenix is more tailored towards luxury, with much of the cargo section replaced by a very fancy suite.
@@Farrister I can see that, but might be confusing for less seasoned players since there is a designated ballistic-Repeater weapon class for S1-3 which doesn't include the Gatlings ^^
The interior of constellation series is awful.Everything just not make sence. The docking port connect just to the habitation area, what if someone is in bed while docking port is open? The airlock is just under the middle of the corridor, and what if somebody is walking right on the gate while it opened suddenly. Additionnaly, where is the closestool. The whole thing makes me feel that the constellation is an old design from the CIG many years ago, and needs to be reworked just as the 600i does.Anyway, I'm not criticizing this ship ,I just hope it would getting better. Though the outlook of the constellation is fantastic and I most like the way it transforming to VTOL, the interior is just disappointing, which is the reason I choose The Cosair😁😁😁

Definitely agree!
Was just thinking this myself!
i agree since in space you can just roll the ship to point it where you need to where as in gravity you need to keep the ship rightside up
Can't have that, would make too much sense.
Man i want the Aquila but I have to go andromita b/c if I need a turret it needs to be top side not bottom…

Great video review, you keep stepping up the cinematography, looks incredible! Great work!
Thanks, I've had some great feedback and suggestions of late, so trying to put them into practice!
@@Farrister It definitely shows!
Appreciating this review from patch 3.19
Hey the Aquila one of my favorite ships and one of the main ones I use.
I really like it!
Another brilliant video mate!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Others have talked a lot about exploding ships, I've genuinely not experienced it!
Never had that it issue and it's been my daily for a long time
That's a good looking ship. The curvy design of the front looks very sleek compared to it's other counterparts. It'll be awesome when that scanning array will come into play.
Fingers crossed!
Good note! I have so many weapons lying around in my inventory that I just swap and change, so don't notice so much :(
Rented this ship with REC to see how it fared in a simulated pirate ambush in Pyro, and I was very pleasantly surprised at how much damage it was able to soak up before it finally went boom. Combine that with the S4 weapons, very good hydrogen fuel efficiency, and the ability to bring an Ursa Rover, and I think that for many players, the Aquila will actually be one of the best ships for all-around exploration (especially with a crew of 2-3).
Surprisingly good!
I've been skipping the Aquila-tour-videos, cause it's my all time favorite ship in the verse and I got to admit that... I was scared to hear things I didn't want to know. But since I found your chanel I thought I'd give it a shot. Thanks for that review. To me it's like a loveletter.
Others may like it or not, but I can't wait, till Exploration becomes a thing in the 'verse and I'll be off "pinging" all of space 😍
Imagine a mining trip where the Aquila goes first, sending out pings and finds rocks, while your scan-turret-operator checks them for it's goods and you'll pass the information to a Hand full of Prospectors and Moles. Midterm there's gonna be food and planning in the Aquila...
It's my dreamship, cause it always gets me dreaming😂
400i is too clean.
Worth a try in fleet week. I can see how it's not the most aesthetically pleasing, but all round performance is really good.
@@shadow7037932 Wouldn't that be nice? I hope so for the sake of the ship and its owners.
And I do hope they get "modernized."
Still, I like the look of them.
I go by the description on the Star Citizen website - lots of them could be interpreted differently!
Lol, the missing Merlin is a story in itself; I'm a fan of the Caterpillar today and for the future (for that price range).
Haha no questions asked
Top turret should be the one with guns to provide air defence while parked on the surface. The crew lift doors pinch your feet when the hatches slam shut on them. They need to rework it so the lift floor stays exposed as the habitat floor, and the floor hatches should only close when the lift is lowered.
Agreed, swapping the turrets would be a really sensible move
Lovely review! The Aquila was my favourite ship in the game for ages, though I'm leaning more heavily towards the incoming Taurus rework now as my interests swing from exploration to freight hauling.
Will be interested to see the Taurus!
@@runhildr-zaetl would be great to include when the game is nearer completion!
Glad it's not just me!
Yeah, quite an expensive out of game purchase too :(
I'm happy they gave the connies a S3 shield since this video.
3.13 feels like a lifetime ago!
@@Farrister haha yes!
And of course, the Constellation series is iconic!
Very well made, great job!
Thanks a lot!
Wait wait wait… you get a rover and a Merlin? Dope!
I think the rover is just for cash sales, but the aUEC buy has the Merlin on the back!
Are the beds/bunks supposed to be escape pods as well? Not a fan of the view when in the co-pilots seats. Their screens block a massive chunk of the view out the front.
I think in lore they are, but not functionally in game right now.
My favorite interior of the Connie's, for sure.
Ooh more than the Phoenix?
@@Farrister Yup. Luxury really isn't my thing; the Aquila has this great, industrial interior. I know it isn't much different than the other non-Phoenix ones, but I really like it.
Great video! I couldn't agree more. I just love this ship in so many ways, I don't even care that most of its function is NOT functioning. I seriously hope that she works out to be a fantastic exploration vessel. As it stands, though, she runs bounties beautifully, and cuts a stunning profile in those asteroids around Yela!
Always good when an experienced pilot agrees!
I have to correct you in the part "combat performance". You can only swap two weapons to size 5. The lower ones are always size 4.
ya sadly
So I’m not crazy!
Yup, good spot!
Great ship; grinded up for it in-game and never really regretted it (despite the shield holes, and all the common Constellation flaws) - in fact it's got me considering melting up for one someday
Oh really? Why the Aquila over the Andromeda?
Corsair was a big brain move, at least for the loaners! I'm really excited to get my hands on one
I had an Aquilla but after I got my Carrack, I couldn't really justify keeping it around.
Oh the Carrack offers a lot more functionality, sadly just at a size and price premium!
It’s hilarious to think of how there might be crew in the bathroom or sleeping in their bunks behind the bridge, someone might open up the airlock on the ceiling or the elevator in the floor, venting the atmosphere and violently killing everyone
Not to mention the floating sewage...
Great notes!
I sure hope the scanner has more than one use, like being useful spotting ships trying to reduce their emissions in order to go stealth, in addition to exploration and mapping use.
For the future, we can only hope
Will going stealth avoid AA turrets?
I'm looking forward to the Taurus, to see what the cargo hold will fit in it.
The missing piece to the puzzle!
radars are going to allow deep scanning without ping so more stealth but only details will be IR EM etc and you'll have to get closer to idenitfy which is what recon ships should be for.
The RSP gameplay will be essential to give details when we get CAG systems to allow RTS style navigation systems so like a ship with the globe things allow one ship to give advanced orders to fleet using visual and audio ques (idealistically)
I'll believe it when I see it!
I swear, watching your videos is so painful, because I play Elite and how I WISH they had such beautiful ship interiors.
Come play some Star Citizen xD
@@Farrister I would, but my system can't handle it!
I'm now playing Star Citizen!
Flying the Drake Cutter... looking forward to this beauty.
All exploration ships are going to become very important in the future of the game.
I hope so
Going by the way the Constellation's landing gear works, and the rule of 'if it fits, it sits' regarding all landing gear being in contact with the surface... a Connie can actually fit on one of the SMALL landing pads of the Kraken.
Intriguing!
Oh that would be cool!
Sadly, agreed :(
You can only swap out 2 of the weapons. The ones on the lower section are kept at a max S4 because of the landing gear situation
Great video otherwise. Thanks
Oh helpful, thank you! You can still swap the weapons though, I switched them to all Revenant :)
Haha thought it was just me who couldn't figure out the cargo bay!
Great review !
I’ve always wondered why english/us people always use the pronoun « she » when they’re talking about a ship ?
Always thought it should be « it » 😅
I think it's old naval tradition, and I'm a stickler for it xD
@@Farrister thanks for the explanation, learned something great today !!
Nice work!
Thanks, nice to hear from you :)
the Aquila pre 3:12 was a horrible over steering shield hole ridden death trap.... i now own one and it has quickly turned into one of my favorite ships .the top turret is unfortunate but at least the forward fire power of this ship is great . i hope one day with modularity you can swap out the top scanning station for a turret.
Yeah the recent patches have been a big improvement!
Great fire power. But you probably not overclocked the weapons? For even more punch:p
Haha not this time I think
Good review!
The RSI Zeus MK II is now out; it would be good if Farrister could make a review of the RSI Zeus MKII.
It's out now? Wow, did I miss that one?!
The Science Workstation in the Cockpit is missing in the flyable Model.
Hmm
@@Farrister means the Connies still need a rework.
Have the Corsair. And I can't wait to get rid of the Conni. Don't like the unfinished interior and the to many struts.
@@vonrosphe3098 you got a point regarding struts and interior. You can see that the Conni is one of the oldest ships and I really hope she gets an overhaul at some point. Till then I will not pick one up.

i miss this patch where ballistics were useful, not like now no one use it cuz we get just 250 bullets per weapon
Me too :(
I was looking at buy this for the onboard rover.
I'm interested to see how much LTI will matter as time goes on
@@Farrister Well, paying for the maintenance of the ship after 30 minutes of doing bounty hunting missions scared me how expensive it is.
Yeah, a few people have mentioned that! Worth calling out
Hi Farrister.
Oof, not that I've encountered, but I never really had that problem with the Andromeda either :(
Putting the sensors on the turret is kinda stupid imo. It should be an internal station and the weapon turret restored.
Yeah I can't help but agree!

@@Farrister well the interesting thing is the way they open. Unless the dock has a much larger piece that seals to the exterior of the ship. That swinging outer door would hit it lol
Wish cig would just give the phoenix this canopy glass.
"Premium" xD
Can you fly this ship Solo for long term exploration? If so then this ship is on my goal list, and great videos. Thanks
At the moment, yes. The Constellation series currently offers a good balance between solo and multi-crew, meaning it does either fairly well. Whether that continues to be the case in the future, who knows!
I fly this ship or the Constellation Andromeda series all by myself and do well fighting in it alone as well. The missiles get the job done.
Alpha!!
They downsized them back to size 4s because they would hit the ground/clip and get destroyed
I usually swap for fixed, but the Connie isn't quite as precise as some other ships, which is why I opted to keep the gimbals.
How many mining vehicles can you fit in the cargo hold?
You know, I need to test it to check, but I think 1?
Ballistic best xD There was me thinking Aquila was latin for 'eagle'!
ugh this ship looks so amazing, but I know, I know if I bought it I'd end up regretting it after a while for the limited functionality it has compared to other ships in the price range.
But it LOOKS epic xD

The interior of constellation series is awful.Everything just not make sence. The docking port connect just to the habitation area, what if someone is in bed while docking port is open? The airlock is just under the middle of the corridor, and what if somebody is walking right on the gate while it opened suddenly. Additionnaly, where is the closestool.
