- The Fine Bros. are at it again. Getting the reactions of people who don't really get music......I guess that's the point? Anyway, Justin Bieber helped a couple of Latin artists (Daddy Yankee and Luis Fonsi) top the Billboard charts in America with their new hit Despacito. How will Mike react today?

Lmao I laughed for a good 5 minutes!
I dont know why some latins feel "proud" that this song became globally famous. Theres so much better songs in spanish.
Definitely not every latino is proud of that despacito shit, i'm one of them, I feel personally ashamed.

We Swedes are bilingual ... We learn English early in elementary school.
So ABBA had no problem speaking or singing in English.
And ABBA created their own music and lyrics, nobody created anything for them.
Abba also sang in Spanish and even had songs titled in Spanish such as Fernando and Chiquitita. I enjoy their music still. Greetings from Puerto Rico.
ABBA was so damn awesome!
neither Anni-frid or Agnetha could speak english at the bands start and had to learn their english songs phonetically.
Bjorn and Benny, on the other hand, both knew English as they had performed in bands prior.
Try living in India bruh 😂

@@pavelm.gonzalez8608 My dad is from the Dominican Republic and he says he doesn't like Aventura or Reggaeton. I can say without a doubt I know too well why.
Hyper Dragon Anaconda I realize that, but they’re heavily influenced by hip hop. My mom and her sisters like it though
Hyper Dragon Anaconda I haven’t listened to a Bachata song in years (on my own, because it’s played all the time wherever my family is). Hell I haven’t listened to a Spanish song in years.
This song has almost 2 billion views..... Forsaken by Dream Theatre has 1.5 million views..... yeah that's right
Mainly because teenage girls and some pussy ass boys listen to music on YT rather than getting the album of their artist. I can 100% guarantee that 90% of these pop artist fans doesn't even have a single album of their fav, they just listen to the singles dropping on YT with vids. Reason why I hate these teenage fangirls/boys
Opeira We broke. You expect me to get a ten dollar album when I don't listen to half the songs? Even if I do like every single song, why spend your hard earned money from working at McDonalds on an album when you can listen to it for free. Even fans of good music got to get with the times
@Jeremy Hayes In some cases thats true but for the most part thats bullshit, you have a lot of teenagers and young adult millenials out there who be buying 3-6+ pairs of shoes, always get the new iPhone, order food with added tip 24/7, and still outright refuse to pay a small price of 10-15 dollars for an album.
Boy, if it was only pop fangirls listening to those songs on youtube, the videos wouldn't have as many views. The songs are catchy and they are everywhere; it makes sense that even people who are not fans of certain artists would listen to the singles. Also, while I still like to buy albums and I'm willing to spend 10-15 dollars, I can understand why those kids wouldn't spend money on it - you have things like youtube and spotify nowadays.
Also, a fun fact you might find interesting: I used to be quite into korean pop and the album sales for popular groups are insane. Many fans often buy dozens of albums.
Kpop is for sheeps.. Everyone knows that it's more about glamour rather than the quality of music. + do you realize that views increases even if a single person watches it for million of times? not everyone listens to that kinda' music and even if they do so then it's 1 time at max. It's basically the teenage fangirls/boys going mad on those. Ever found a well made song make it to past 1billion views on YT? Yet, fucking "All about the bass" has 1 billion + views.. Seriously, why would anyone find that shit interesting apart from diehard fangirls/boys and some strippers who can throw some booty to the song?
And the album version of many songs is different to the version on YT, at least that's what I've found in most music that I listen to. + There are some hidden gems in the album itself that the musician doesn't put out as a single.. Bear in mind that I've nothing against pop music at all, there are some good artist in the genre itself but the way people judge a musician's quality and ability based on YT views or billboard rank pisses me off..
This song is so fucking annoying! Im latino and fully understand spanish, but i hate the music! I 100% agree with mike on what he said. What i find funny is that the same people that dont like metal cause u "cant" understand what they say are same people that listen to K-Pop and all this other shit in a different language for example Despacito!
I am from Latin America, but at the moment I am living in Germany and where this song I met, I think this song is the same as all that they do in Latin America, always have the same basic sound only change the lyrics, but the lyrics They always talk about the same thing. The "reggaeton" is the most basic music in the world and is overrated. I agree with you.
Always good to see you on here, Daniela \m/
Oh.........ok.............so playing dominos in the street = culture.......
I've seen the light.
And yes, I know part of the video is filmed in a historic district. I can film Transformers at Mecca. Doesn't make it cultured.
Become The Knight if you wanna hear a real american artist singing real latino music in metal style check avenged sevenfold's cover of la malagueña
Actually, yes... In Puerto Rico you play dominos everywhere, bars, the beach, even on the street. Especially in 'barriadas' (slums, for lack of a better word) like La Perla, which in were this MV was filmed, people tend to play like that... in Old San Juan there are tables in public spaces to play dominos.. it is a big cultural thing in our country and (I think, but not so sure) the rest of the Caribbean.
this song is breaking all records..
This is not representative of actual Latin American culture, It's generic commercial pop music. Try Natalia Lafourcade Musas 1 & 2, Lila Downs La Linea, Susana Harp Xquenda, Mercedes Sosa vivo en suiza, Soledad Bravo canciones revolucionarias de Latino America, Inti Illmani, Victor Jara (RIP and to all those lives lost in the 1973 coup d'etat). Latin America in many aspects has been about struggle, beauty, and community. Other genres and not reggaeton express the themes of this culture. Granted I enjoy reggaeton from time to time, but I rather listen to Latin American Folk.
Yes but to upper class kids like those above it is that culture. It's like hearing Taylor Swift and convincing yourself it's southern culture. And I hold my point the northern half of the U.S. has no culture definition of its own.
Dude that's a bunch of crap like seriously that list sucks like horse sht come on ;-;

I saw an interview that one of the Spanish speaking artists did and he kind of explained what happened. Apparently Justin heard their song in a club and called them up saying he wanted to be on it. They got back with all the lyrics he was going to sing already translated into English, and he said that he wanted to sing in Spanish... now after doing that how do you NOT commit it to memory??
And I do agree that a lot of Latin music sounds the same, but it's because there's a specific way to dance to each genre. For instance salsa, bachata, cha cha, kumbia, meringue etc they all have certain steps that correspond to rhythm of the songs. So they don't necessarily sound similar out of conformity, but more because they need to fit the dance steps that come with that genre. So if you go out to the Latin club again 😉👍 You'll see that people will dance much differently to salsa songs than they do bachata songs. The song that comes on determines how you dance to it. So nothing much new happens within the genre, it's more that a whole new one has to be created.
Some of these genres and dances have been around for a long time, but bachata and reggaeton are the "newer" ones. (This kind of has to do with what the boy in the video said about reggaeton being about sex) The older dances (for example salsa) are mor more about flirtation, working the dance floor and the crowd, and the overall art of the dance. But reggaeton was very blatant in the fact that it was "about sex". Most Latino homes are strictly Catholic, that being said, the fact that sex was so out in the open instead of being this thing that was only alluded to was very much frowned upon. Also this is kind of the only genre that doesn't have any dance "steps" (I think it's actually the first AND the only). The way you dance to it is you just 'bump and grind'. The fact that sexuality was so out in the open with this genre gave it a "trashy" reputation which is why it was "underground". It is much more accepted and celebrated now that sex isn't considered as "shameful" in the Latino community.
Sorry for the novel, I have trained professionally in most of these dances and my mom is from Ecuador so these songs/genres are very much a part of my culture and very dear to me. Just thought I'd share some of my knowledge/experience in case you were interested 😊 I really enjoyed your video! And as always enjoyed listening to you give your honest opinion 👌
I greatly appreciate the insight Jannine! I like to learn everything I can about different cultures. Thanks for the good vibes \m/

Hi, Become The Knight I send you a cordial greeting from South America. I just finished watching your video and I think you're a bit confused about our music, but I do not blame you or surprise me because most Americans do not know much about it. You say that every "fucking" Latin pop song has the same rhythm and sound, monotonous and repetitive, ok, first: "despacito" is not a pop song is reggaetón or as it is also identified in some areas of latin america, urban. Second: that rhythm that you describe that have all the "fucking" Latin songs is the base of reggaetón all sound like that because it was born several years ago in Panama and has been evolving, believe me when I say that before it was more repetitive, even annoying I would say but it was conceived of that way and we must respect that. Third and last: Latin pop songs sound quite different from reggaeton there are many exponents of this genre in Latin America and I assure you that they do not look anything like it. You say the song has risen so much (1st place on Billboard hot 100) because of Justin Bieber, yes, you're right, you can not deny, although the song already had a huge success in the world Justin's inclusion gave it a new impetus And would certainly never have made it to the top of Billboard had it not been so. Have a good day.
Swedish (scandinavian) people in general speak very good english, and their accent is pretty similirar to the american one.
True now, but at that time Swedish people were pretty bad at English.
despacito was already a worldwide hit since its release, topping the charts on all europe, latin america, some asian countries, etc so justin bieber only helped the song to be more popular on english speaking countries because no offense but english countries are very close-minded so unless a song has some of english on it it won't top the charts. which is sad
No offense taken. I'm trying to do my part to raise awareness to how close-minded my country is musically........many of them are ignorant without even realizing it.
PSNPS496 As if charts mean anything anymore. Songs that end up at the top of the charts are there because record companies buy their songs spots on those charts. And because most people only listen to what's on top lists on spotify, those songs automatically become popular, whether they're good or bad.
PSNPS496 Facts. I'll be listening to songs on the radio and literally hear no foreign songs at all and then I'll look on UA-cam and there'll be a ton of foreign songs with a crazy number of views
Exactly.
Well I could understand if it's because they want to listen to a song they understand and can sing along to. But then when people do listen to music from another country or culture like k-pop, they get laughed at or made fun of? I know not all k-pop is great and a lot of the English fans can be quite obnoxious but the response I got a lot was "you can't even understand it" or "they all look the same" or "you wouldn't like that if it was in English".
The part about the language really got me. If you didn't bother to memorize the words to the song, then you shouldn't be singing it. Especially if it is in another language! That's what frustrates me a lot. If foreign fans who don't speak English, can memorize the lyrics to their fav English songs, and sing them word for word at a concert, then high and mighty Beaver doesn't get a pass.
The way the guy with the hat said "diverse music", like him putting the emphasis on the word diverse to make sure the whole of youtube heard it correctly lead me to literally destroying my phone

Dude, it definitely was the Justin Bieber factor that gave this much attention to this song. It's literally the same song this reggaeton artists have been writhing for years.
I'm latino and producer, and previously worked on backing tracks for this kind of music for a very long time, I know their formula... it's the same shit that has been done for years and years! Same lyrics, same rhythm, same videos... there's absolutely nothing special about this song.
VEXARI.MORON THE SONG WAS # 1 WORLDWIDE WITH 5 BILLION VIEWS BEFORE THIS LOONEY JUMPED TO THE WAGON.AND FUCKED THE SONG
Exactly, like, i live in italy and EVERY SINGLE summer there is one song in spanish that tops the charts and gets put on blast everywhere you go, literally every year, it’s basically a meme for italian singers (rappers expecially, many make fun of this constant loop in their songs) at this point... but apparently despacito wins a grammy? Like it’s literally the furthest from original a song can be, but since americans are completely unaware of this trend, it gets praised...
Btw i can’t wait to see what song in spanish is gonna top the charts this year
WARNING: I am drunk, so this is an essay and I probably won't remember typing this
I personally suggest watching the adults react to the solo One Direction songs
AS FOR BIEBER, there is only one defense I have for him, as someone who actually listened to all his album's from the beginning, Biebers voice legit sounds better on this kind of instrumentation then the EDM production or even the "soft guitar" shit he pulled with Love Yourself
As for the sound of Reggaeton, and as a pure Latino, the genre has held it's moments from Selena in the mid 90s to even Daddy Yankees earlier hit in the mid 2000s with "Gasolina", it's a genre that will always have it's moments but unfortunately will never truly break out. They can popularize Shakira and Los Lonely Boys and shit like that, but you are one hundred percent correct that pop is pop no matter how they slice it. Hell, the only reason this is a hit personally is not because of Bieber but because it fits the mold of every summer "OMG let's lyk go to da beech n drink alkahall" song (misspelled on purpose)
Finally, and this is just one last minor counter point to Bieber on this track...I legit don't think Bieber did shit for this track. As mentioned, I think he sounds good but between the staleness of current hits (A person can only hear Chainsmokers, Bruno and Sheeran so many times), but he legit only had one verse. If he had the whole song and maybe threw in the chorus and Daddy Yankee rap, maybe, but one verse hardly makes a song
Wences Acosta do you remember writing this now the next morning?
Ramy Sar 50/50. I don't remember typing it, but it definitely sounds like me

Mike Hunt I reckon he's bullshitting.
Or maybe autocorrct...
I appreciate how articulate you are and the great points you make. I'm glad someone finally fucking acknowledged the drum beat in these songs. I'm not musically trained, but I've noticed it myself. It's one of the main reasons I can't stand the genre. It serves its purpose for clubs, same as the mumble rap genre, but there's no real diversity. Your videos are always a good fucking time.
If this makes you question people's musical taste remember that Gangnam style was the first video to reach 1 billion views
Bots can help bring up views. UA-cam already busted Justin Beiber videos for using bots and deleted a bunch of views.
At first I thought this was just gonna shit on the song. Then I watched the whole video and your point being absolutely correct. Many people who don't understand music just think "oh different language it's culturally diverse" but when you get to the meat of it yeah you're correct. It's the same thing we hear in American Pop music, same would be in say Armenian pop music. It would have the same song structure
I'd say, you REEAAALLY don't want to translate Daddy Yankee's lyrics.
You're better off knowing what he saying.
No! I remember some obscure daddy yanky songs where he actualy raps and say stuff, but I guess Being a bad rapero gives him more money
That last diverse music link! WOW
Puerto Rico... That's where both Fonsi and Daddy Yankee are from. As a hard rovk and metal fan, I'm not the biggest listener of Regaeton since the base beat is always the same, but Despacito is pretty darn catchy. Also both these artists have been HUGE for years in Latin America. The lyrics are actually quite good compared to others in it's genre. Hope my thoughts clear up a few things
Gabriel Fernandez wow we're the exact same
Estan pendejos o que pedo?
"The lyrics are actually quite good compared to others in it's genre"
Well yeah, that's not exactly a high fucking bar. Reggaeton is usually just disgusting at best. It's the girliest, most sappy shit imaginable in one song (case in point: despacito), or the most disgustingly misogynistic shit out there in the next one ("cuatro babies", for instance). I'm from Colombia, another place where that shit picked up like wildfire and I even struggle to put into words how much I hate that fucking shit. The same-y sound and the incredibly shitty people posing as artists just make me want to punch someone. How girls can actually dance to and enjoy crap that is more often than not calling them literal whores is beyond me.
Andrés Cifuentes yup, pretty much, you know the sad thing is that, that kind of lyrics appeared recently, old Reggaeton songs weren’t that fucking disgusting. Also man cheers to Colombia.

Dude I hate the justin beiber version. And the fact that people think its his. Thanks for making a video about this dude!!
Your commentaries are constantly right on. Hit the nail on the head every single time, man. I applaud you.
Ah yes, "diverse"
Pop music will always be the same no matter which country it comes from because it appeals to our primal desires (money, power, ego-stroking, sex)
If you want to have a true look into cultural music, a good place to start is folk and indie.
Lol i only came here to watch Mike get pissed off xD 😂
The dude in the yellow hat is awesome... he did make a stupid comment but I still love him
what i've noticed is a lot of spanish music uses the same beat depending on their genre. reggaeton, salsa, cumbia, bachata, banda, etc. basically all sound the same within their genre. for example, pick any two random romeo santos bachata songs and you'll have a hard time differentiating them. the songs that become hits in those genres just have something special about their melodies and i think despacito really achieved that. as far as justin hopping on it, i had no problem with it. the problem i have with it is all the ignorant music listeners that completely ignore the word REMIX in the title and assume it's his original work.
good video. earned a sub.
Woah, don't get salsa mixed up with the other genres. The salsa is musically more complex than the reggaeton and the bachata, and you actually can differentiate the songs in it. It's just that it's a dance genre, is something that you would hear in a party and dance to it (it's hard to dance to it if you're not used to it, it's complex) Just listen to Willie Colon.
Nah nah. Gotta stop you right there reggueton and bachata are usually recycled shit. But Salsa oh no thats whole different thing that is more complex and variety to it, its like a jazz if you will

Well yea if you mean the beat in the song, I agree but it's like SO OVERUSED, I'm always thinking "can we get something else please?!??" And that crappy pop is like "NOPE"
The lot of music genre's get there own standard beat or base what you be hearing in music video is the reggaeton beat if you listen closely to music from others genre's but dont try to listen for it on rock, or metal because day don't have a standard beat or base
You want the lyrics? Here they are:
Yes, you know I've been looking you for a while
I have to dance with you today
I saw your look calling me
show me the way, I'll go
You, you're the magnet, I'm the metal
I'm getting closer and starting to plan
just thinking about it rushes my heartbeat
I'm liking it more than usual already
all my senses are asking for more
there's no need to hurry it
Slowly
I want to breath in your neck slowly
let me tell you things at your ear
so you remember if you're not with me
Slowly
I want to strip kissing you slowly
I sign in the walls of your maze
and I make your body a manuscript
Go up x5
I want to see your hair dance
I want to be your rythm
I want you to show my mouth
your favorite places (favorite, favorite "baby")
Let me overtake your danger zones
Till causing your screams
and forget your last name
(Rap part)
If I ask you for a kiss, come, give it to me
I know you're thinking about it
I've been some time trying it
Mummy, this is giving and giving
you know your heart with me goes boom boom
you know this babe is looking for my boom boom
come, try my mouth to know how does it taste
I want, I want, I want to see how much love fits you
I have no hurry, I want to take the ride
starting slowly, then wildly
step by step, smooth smoothly
we're getting closer, bit by bit
when you kiss me with that skill
I know that you're malice with care
Step by step, smooth smoothly
we're getting closer, bit by bit
And this beauty is like a puzzle
but to solve it I have the piece (listen)
Slowly
I want to breath in your neck slowly
let me tell you things at your ear
so you remember if you're not with me
Slowly
I want to strip kissing you slowly
I sign in the walls of your maze
and I make your body a manuscript
Go up x5
I want to see your hair dance
I want to be your rythm
I want you to show my mouth
your favorite places (favorite, favorite "baby")
Let me overtake your danger zones
Till causing your screams
and forget your last name
Slowly
Let's do it in a beach of Puerto Rico
till the waves scream "Oh, my"
so my stamp stays with you
Step by step, smooth smoothly
we're getting closer, bit by bit
I want you to show my mouth
your favorite places (favorite, favorite "baby")
Step by step, smooth smoothly
we're getting closer, bit by bit
Till causing your screams
and forget your last name
Slowly
Step by step, smooth smoothly
we're getting closer, bit by bit x2
God save us from these people
Wow! Thank you so much for those music suggestions. The first one was difficult, I'll admit. The second was awesome and reminded me of so many different things in music I love and the last one just made me get up and dance with joy! Thank you!
Here in my house there is always rock or metal on. But when my daughter and i are really happy this is one of the songs that we put on full volume and just dance and be crazy together. My boyfriend doesn't dance or like this music but he likes to have fun with us so he has to put up with it haha.
But i love youre vids!
That one girl that thinks that the 90s was a really long time ago, she'd be stunned to know that black sabbath released their first album 53 years ago 🤣🤣🤣
I'm from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷(wich is from where the song came from), I can say the video is very good it just shows the beauty of the island. Despacito was more famous in the media and USA also everybody was over it by the third week unless they were brain washed pop listeners
Dude, amazing comments at the beginning. It's amazing you did this to show the real thing and not the bieber cr*p
Reminds me of the sheep in my class.
That song was written as a traditional Cumbia, but the producers convinced the writers that the song would sell way better as a Reggeton song. There are many artists in latin America that despise the wave of Reggaeton music. Every song sounds the same.
13:37 PREACH!!!!
Kaden Marmon in
Lol! I may have needed to release some tension on that one....
Hi! Great breakdown of the music and video. It seems like the running theme of this video can be applied to any country and to any neighborhood. You can say the cultural elements are the young and the old from the hood hanging out on the street, listening to muisc, dancing and/or playing dominos (called capicu). Then it continues into the club and then seen all the way to the end. The conga drums at the end are a style of Puerto Rican music reflecting the lands past ancestry called "Bomba y Plena" that's percussion driven with the congas.
being from Puerto Rico, country of the singers Daddy Yankee and Luis Fonsi, i am damned to listen to this 2x more than the usual, it gets more annoying the 50th time you listen to this in a day lol. Interesting for you to make this video Mike!
I love how they say they don't know the lyrics and have no problem with it but they sat the same thing for metal and it becomes bad.
believe me man... we hate that fucking song in latin america ... you can here it in the radio in the street , tv etc etc anywhere I hate reggaeton because thats the name of that kind of music , lyrics are really terrible and the music very repetitive ... I dont recommend that music is a waste of time if you really want to check sometime good from latinoamerica I recommend araña is a good metal band ua-cam.com/video/h0DVD03nIFE/v-deo.html
You know what genre is the most diverse? Rock/metal. You have bands that sing in English, German, Spanish, French, Russian, Danish, Icelandic, Finnish, and now there's even an Arabic black metal band that can't play a live show because they could be executed.
mike, i love you, man! making me lmfao at 4 30 in the f'ing morning!
Lol glad you enjoyed \m/
its been driving me insane...please tell me what you have against manson? i will not die happy unless i know! lol
Congrats to you man because your video is the third to come up When Despacito is searched on UA-cam.
Please try listening to Los Tres. I am from Chile and thats a band I can say does show the culture from where I am from. Im personally related to the singer aswell.
Been watching Mike for 2 months. He really fucking knows his shit when it comes to music.
I'm full Mexican bro and grew up with people around me listening to Daddy Yankee and he's just an average rapper but since he raps in Spanish he's blown way out of proportion. I know for sure there's a lot of people with some sort of Latin heritage that like this song just because they think it hits home with them.
Shame too considering Latin America has such a beautiful music culture that probably better represents their heritage. But I'm a skinny white guy from Wisconsin so what do I know.
Zack Bolstad haha well you got it right mr Wisconsin guy
I appreciate the insight as always dude \m/
Become The Knight no problem man. keep pumping out great quality
13:34 "Let's say these are 16th notes. *tapping on the table* kick....snare kick..snare.kick....snare.kick..snare..kick"
Why am I so easily tingled lmao
I liked this video for the sake that you had to listen and watch through this.
I would totally watch reactions from you to songs in general! They could be popular songs in the united states or maybe songs from rock artists that are huge in places like latin, america or asia, but of course aren't known in the united states, or what ever you think it might be interesting... I guess what i am saying is that these "react to people reacting to music" videos are great, but just you reacting to music could also be a good series!! (needless to say... suscribed)
When you read the translated lyrics you realise that it's exactly like every other generic pop song about sex but people act like it's the best thing to come out of Latin America since Santana. I can understand having pride in your culture and your culture being represented on a global scale (I still feel a tinge of pride when people talk about Charlize Theron and I don't even like her that much) but it's just not a particularly noteworthy song. If you released an English version it would be lost in the top 40 shuffle within days. Granted I'm not Latino so maybe I'm just not in the right position or frame of mind to understand the pride it evokes but it seems like people are backing the wrong horse
When they say there's so much culture, what they mean is Latin people are party people. There's almost always loud music and people dancing or playing in the streets. They celebrate EVERYTHING like a big deal. So when they see the people dancing, drinking, having fun, that's probably what they thought of. I think here in the states, yeah, you see people partying but not as much, not as loud, not the same kind of parties. It's like when you go on a cruise ship to the Caribbean 😂
for me this gets into a bigger picture then just reggaeton is shit, if you compare it to prog, yeah, its shit, but most music has some kind of effect on different people, it gets into a difference of musician and artist, in my eyes, a musician uses scaled, structured notes to play in such a way to impress an audience, while an artist can use sound as a medium to make intense melodies and riffs to completely blow peoples minds, instead of just another guitar solo, this is why I love genres like doom metal and stoner rock(also why nirvana is good, so fuck you mike). bands like dreamtheater are somewhere in between imo, so while reggaeton might not be very impressive, and I mean it definitely isn't for me, but you have to admit if you heard it at a club or something, it would make you want to get up and dance. (Justin Beiber ruined it though)
Brady Jameson I absolutely agree with you, reggaeton it's definitely not my music and kinda hate it to be honest, but song it's actually enjoyable, especially if you're in a club or a party
There is not single genre that is ''shit''. But every genre has bad and good stuff. There is some awful prog and there is some awful Reggaeton. This song is not good. Mike likes to talk about himself as that extremely knowledgable guy who knows everything...and often it just isn't that way at all...There was many times when he was praising muse for example, but totally put radiohead down...while radiohead's first 3 albums are the biggest influence on muse...and are objectively superior band
fair enough, I agree that every genre has an upside to it, but there still is music that can be put in a category that doesn't have a solid rhythm or hook, and would be considered not as good or bad, everyone has there taste and that's awesome, but for me, its hard to compare music like this, even though it is catchy and easy to dance and sing along to, to a really well put together doom or grunge song
Brady Jameson shut up ok? ok
+Brady Lol! Way to slip that in there \m/
+Dominik That is incorrect. Radiohead was not an influence on Muse. Look at some of their interviews. Dom claims in one interview in 2006 that Radiohead was a major influence on the band when they were 16 but Chris and Matt blatantly have said that it not the case. Both bands share similar influences and started their bands around the same time. Only Maybe I'm right about more things than you give me credit for ;P Also don't misconstrue apathy for putting a band down.
Great react videos! I really like your insights in music in general! Even tho i personally am not "musical educated", so i don't always understand the thechnical terms you use, often it seems you are able to put in words things i feel about music! So thank you!
React to 'do kids know the beetles' by fine bros
Most kids know the beetles but do they know the Beatles
Nathancovers no they just say they don't like them and there shit 😂
Indian music has instruments most Americans have never heard of. There is language diversity, instrumental diversity and progressions and so on.
I love this cynical bastard 😂
As a latino, I think Despacito is just the same kind of reggaeton that I have been heard for more than 15 years, and Despacito is not the worst song ever but is like pop American music, basic music to dance or for people that just cannot understand another kind of music. So, if you want to know, we have a lot of good music from pop, salsa, merengue to rock and metal.
Oh those beautiful Latina ladies. Feel you man XD. Keep rockin on
My friend, I followed your links to see your take on diverse music, points for the first one being Bela Bartok, I was not expecting that. A great choice.
I am from Mexico and that music is a shit for me.
I am a kid and i have 12 years old i am like the only one in my school that like the rock.
Somethig more, all the songs of here have the same rhythm that's horrible for me i prefer be in my house hearing foo fighters 🤘🏻✌🏻
You kid better go listen to Christian nodal
despacito had almost 1B views and 1B that's what caught justin's attention. On the world charts despacito without Justin is in 1st on spotify. So the song alone did good!!!
WHYY I LITERALLY JUST GOT THIS SONG OUT OF MY HEAD
Sorry Bob :(
Despacito is massive in the UK too. It's still bumping here.
The Scorpions are not british or american like Abba and they have great songs too❤
Liljana N. Idk what you were trying to say but the scorpions are german and Abba is a swedish band
Zion Miniboll l know that the Scorpions are German and Abba is Swedish, I mean both bands are not american and british and are professionals
Dude I live in Puerto Rico, where the song is from, and they put this song so much in the radio that it's became ridiculous. Its basically suffering.
You can pretty much add anything by Paco Di Lucia to that diversity-list in the description.
Just going to say... Thank you for the links to "actual diverse music"! AWESOME :)
we don't care about the bill board chart. the song was made for us in Puerto Rico, I don't know how Justin got the approval to sing it. I tell you this MUSIC IS UNIVERSAL and gather people together. what you missing is that the song is SENSUAL and if you translate it to English It kind of loose that part. I think the Lyrics are too strong for young people to heard. and really if you don't liked it you don't have to hear it or approved it. We are NOT nomands, we understand it pretty well. it's pretty amazi how people react to a simple song from PUERTO RICO n yes I totally agree with you it went UP THE CHART because of justin but we were enjoying the song long before. music makes us happy, sad to say. like your comments though!
Thanks for the good vibes Rosa \m/
No problem,your welcome.
What a lot of people forget that there are many Latin people in the U.S. that are Americans and by their own input can make a hit in the so called "states"....we do not need to sing a song in English to be called making it in America! The cultural part is the country where the video was made, the instruments used to make the song and the people involved, which were all from Puerto Rico...which in its self makes it unique. And last, this song was already so popular world-wide in even non-Spanish speaking countries before Justin came across it, and he the one that jumped the wagon of success with this song when it came out NOT THE OPPOSITE!
There's not that much cultural stuff going on. It's just the background and that's it
Point of fact, despacito is not using the four chord sequence. The four chord sequence is 1 5 6 4, and the Despacito chord sequence is 6 4 1 5. This sequence is also known as the sensitive female chord sequence, because it was used in a lot of female songs in the 90s. Starting on the minor 6 chord gives the song a much more emotional tone then on the major 1.
