I am so glad that she was finally identified and given her name back. Nobody deserves to remain nameless. Rest in peace TAMMY.
soooo, where were Ma and Pa? Brothers, sisters??? Gramps or Grandma???????
@@MidlandTexan In this case, I think she had been a frequent runaway and had a history of hitchhiking and her family and friends had thought that she just started a new life somewhere else. Her mother died sometime in the late 90's and I'm not sure about her dad or anyone else. Just a tragic case of a young woman falling thru the cracks.
I wish they could also find the identity of the 'Boy in the cardboard box', that case has haunted me forever.
Dave Nix Probably never will:( Too much time has passed, too many secrets, and keep in mind the time period. Unwed girls, pedophiles, homes for unwed mothers, child abuse, molestation, etc. Very sad for that little boy in the box.
Omg yes. That sweet little angel deserves justice. I hope they can find something. That story is always in my heart.

What can you tell me more about this?
They have a very likely theory about who is the killer though.
We don't commonly speak of love and law enforcement in the same breath, especially in recent years, but this man is surely a beautiful example of both.

Ironic quote from a murdered president! People still debate his death.
Poor girl. God bless this man.
Tammy Alexander was formally identified on January 26, 2015, more than 35 years after her discovery. Laurel Nowell, a close friend in high school from Brooksville, Florida, had started trying to reach Alexander in the 2010s by social media. She eventually reached Alexander's half-sister, Pamela Dyson, of Panama City, Florida, who knew that she had often run away from home, but Dyson had not lived with her younger half-sister after about age eleven. She learned that no one in her family knew anything of Alexander's whereabouts since the girl had left sometime between 1977 and 1979.
Dyson and Nowell became concerned that Alexander had fallen victim to a crime after leaving home. Dyson said that her mother did report Alexander as missing, but she has since believed that, since Alexander had a history of running away and returning, police may not have taken the case seriously. In August 2014, the Hernando County sheriff's office told them no missing persons report had been filed for her, and promptly filed one.
Carl Koppelman, a California artist, came across the "missing person" report on Alexander as a moderator of the Websleuths online community, where volunteers try to solve cold cases including those of unidentified bodies. In 2010, he sketched the portrait of "Caledonia Jane Doe" and posted it in the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs). In September 2014, he saw the new listing for Alexander and quickly realized that they were the same person. He emailed the Livingston County Sheriff's Office (with copies sent to the NamUs regional administrator, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), and the Hernando County, Florida Sheriff's Office) to tell them of the strong resemblance between the two images. Police arranged to take a DNA sample from Dyson.
In January 2015, the Monroe County, New York medical examiner's office found that mitochondrial DNA (MtDNA) from the unidentified body matched that of Dyson, confirming that the victim was her half sister. A week later on January 26, 2015, the Livingston County sheriff, Thomas Dougherty, announced at a news conference that Caledonia Jane Doe had been identified after 35 years.
Thanks bc I didn’t get any info from this report it would’ve been nice to receive this background info. It makes more sense now
I'm sorry, but I have to consider whether the family themselves were involved with whatever happened to this young woman!

I wish someone could solve my sister's almost 39 year old cold case murder. She was only 19.I don't know how to contact cold case detectives.
Just walk in your local office and start asking questions. Keep stopping and keep asking questions. Its hard to forget when they're being asked on a daily basis.
You should contact danelle Hollan
There's a variety of ways to go about it. The original department who handled the case & make some inquiries to the Chief & ask who was the last Detective assigned, your DNA to be entered in case something happens to you and you are supposed to have rights as a survivor of homicide, but that is rarely honored. I am a survivor of a very very brutal attempt on my life shortly after the kidnapping of my children and the theft of my identity at that time. Even in the past year some Medical Tests were ordered, but the order was written with the wrong birth date. Of course, that should be a lead. I have found that an old case was sent to another department sometimes. I would check to see if someone else has been using her name and associated fraudulent identity. We did what was recommended to us and that was if we could possibly connect any other case with our situation that might be the way to capture the criminals. DNA of violent offenders is collected these days if people are arrested. We tried to get the criminals living in my husband's 4 bedroom house arrested but the criminals were living in the beautiful home so they must be the nice people. Wrong Wrong Wrong!!! My husband's first wife is among the missing & hasn't been seen in years. However, in January of this year we had a car dealership in the same County where my husband's first wife was last seen alive contact us about someone else who has been shopping for a vehicle using our contact information in that County & we were given a name. The police won't do anything. You can do thing's to try to get the case activated. Some Case's are sitting dormant because nobody realizes they are there. We have a business card of a Special Investigation Detective that we can't find & anyone we've contacted with the same name says that they don't know the Detective & are no relation. The thing is that Detective's family are VICTIMS of at least one unsolved homicide & the disappearance of another & the Detective issued warrants on the Catholic Church. You need to understand that your sisters homicide is unsolved & that means that the person who killed her could be someone you know or is still killing people.
@@littlebit6211 wtf
Call the police department in the town where it happened. Tell them who you are & demand the detective's name. Call the man/woman often. Do it once a day, once a week or what have you. But keep the pressure on them to be accountable for the case. Remember one thing...they only give up on the case because the relatives do not make an effort to push them to continue. Ask, no demand, that the investigator on her case contact the Vidocq Society! They will only take the case from the current detective. Be this detective's shadow, call them, harass them, become who they have nightmares about when they sleep! You understand what I mean...be a true pain in their butt until they agree to contact the Vidocq Society! They have helped solve many old cases that sat open for years. I wish you luck. Take Care & Stay Determined. 👍

I was at a Beach in Puerto Rico, I saw people standing watching this, kite surfer just not getting up again. I didn't knew him, it was around 4pm, Christmas Eve. I was wondering if all the people standing looking if they new him or were family. I could see him drifting away to the west and decided to call 911. I told what I've seen and how he was in the water so they told me "they" will send a boat service whatever to get him. It started to get dark, I saw a boat pass by, I called again. At the dispatch 911 second call I was informed the boat pass but they couldn't see anyone , so I asked if they had the chopper ( helicopter) the lady on the line answered"yes" , so I said, "is it beIN used right now?" she answered "no" so I said, "then what are you waiting for??!!!" She then asked me what was my relationship to the person at sea and my name. I stated my name , I said:" My name is Laira Calderon, my relation to the person at sea it's none, but it's Christmas Eve and that could be me, someone's son , cousin or father so could you spare the talk and send the chopper!!!??" The person was a male and was recovered around 7:30 pm far west reaching Caribe Hilton Hotel. When I arrived to the scene there were ambulances, the first thing they asked me:"are you the girl that called for the chopper?" (I went running towards them) I said "yes" the man told me "he's fine, was hanging on to the equipment, tierd but we got him, just left on the ambulance" I cried bcs I was happy, never seeing him in person or knowing his name, just knowing it was a human being in danger. Someone's son , cousin, or father. Amen to see people caring like this investigator. God Bless him.

Secondly, anyone can make an assertion about anything, but in order for it to be proven, there must be evidence. There has never been evidence to support the idea the supernatural.
Religion was man's attempt to try to make sense of the world around him (lightening, thunder, floods, death, disease, etc.). Religion is a very antiquated and barbaric way of looking at life.

I can’t help thinking, what if you die and everyone forgets that it can be anyone even people of your relation.
I was reading about this case, after watching it, and I am sure they can catch who did this, by going to the DNA databases, to find matches of relatives. They found male DNA on the jacket she was wearing. I hope they catch him.
The male DNA on her jacket proves nothing except someone touched her jacket..

What a beautiful man.!
This is a very frustrating video because it leaves totally unanswered the question of who killed her. And that preys on my mind. I want the bastard caught and punished. What is the present status of this case?
How did no one look into this in Florida? Lazy law enforcement down in Florida.
On March 2015, the department said that Alexander had ties to a former "prison ministry" in Young Harris, Georgia, which specialized in working with individuals "on probation or parole."By early 2016, the police had identified three male persons of interest who had known Alexander, and took male DNA from her clothing. By November 2016, the FBI had reported that none of the three matched the sample from Alexander's clothing, and continued to receive and investigate new leads in the case.
P.S. If there is no match in DNA database police have to do familial search.
Just because someone touched her clothing, doesn't mean they killed her.
@@xyz2121 Sure, but this can be a great help, if DNA would be not from Chinese worker but from someone from the list of suspects.
Who killed her?

I’m curious...for those cases such as this...why hasn’t anyone someone thought of maybe adding whatever they can to “21 & me” or some other thing...just think 🤔 if they got a hit of possible relative then you’re that much closer to figuring out the persons identity. Or what’s that other one called...anyway they can pin you down to what your hair color eye color etc...I’ve heard that’s how they solved a few murders...maybe they could get someone’s identity that way too...maybe even paternity 😂 oops 🙊😬😳😱🙄🙄👀
It's happening now, which is pretty incredible!
