My first thought when I heard the news of this crash was about the 19-year-old woman he violently assaulted in 2003. Just before the criminal case went to trial she informed prosecutors that she didn’t want to testify in court due to the doxxing, hate mail, death threats and intimidation she experienced in the aftermath of Kobe's arrest (this was way before the MeToo movement). She ended up sueing Kobe in a civil case in which she settled for $ and he apologized. It's important to note, especially for the crowd who believes Kobe is a saint, that at the time the police report was filed by the woman, authorities noted the bruises on her neck, and during the first interview with Kobe, Kobe lied about his encounter with the woman and claimed nothing happened between them. The police told Kobe they had physical evidence from the woman, in the form of bodily fluids, at which point Kobe changed his story and admitted to having intercourse with her, but then claimed it was consensual. He admitted to strangling her and pointed to his own self-described pattern of strangling women during encounters because that was "his thing." After the first interview, police took samples from Kobe, and he was then arrested two days later. It's fairly clear that had the woman not been doxxed and threatened that she would have been willing to testify in court at the criminal trial. Kobe's fans literally, and unlawfully, saved him from that prosecution... at the expense of the victim. It's a sad commentary on society as a whole, really.

@astronomicalreason9807 Why do you hope that? What is the point in making such a wish? Your hopes are irrelevant to me, but you've also misunderstood. I made no claim that he "deserved" anything. I simply stated my first thought was about his rape victim, and I provided irrefutable public-record details of the case that many people may not know or may refuse to acknowledge, like his voluntary admission to the police about strangling women being "his thing." Do you think any public figure in 2024 could remain popular after openly admitting to such a heinous, violent fetish? You do bring up a good point, though, about karma. The world is a much better place without violent rapists in it. Would you agree? Or do you prefer having violent rapists around, like living in your neighborhood or dating your daughter? Your apparent tone of self-righteousness is laughable. Now that I think about it, maybe he DID deserve it. Maybe I DID hear the sound of karma as the helicopter crumpled into the hillside. The audio isn't that great, so I can't be certain. 😉

I remembered driving that same day of Kobe’s death, on the 101 to Thousand Oaks area for a job and never thought that by my lunch break, around 10-11 AM, I will hear the news.
Rip Kobe Bryant, one of basketball’s most legendary figures, was born on August 23, 1978, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The son of former NBA player Joe “Jellybean” Bryant, Kobe was raised in a family that lived and breathed basketball. His middle name, “Bean,” was derived from his father’s nickname, and his first name came from the famous Japanese beef his parents saw on a menu. When Kobe was six, his family moved to Italy, where his father continued his professional basketball career. During these years, Kobe developed a love for soccer and became fluent in Italian, an experience that broadened his worldview. But basketball was always his true passion, and he devoted himself to perfecting his skills on the court from an early age. By the time the Bryant family returned to the United States in 1991, Kobe was a teenager attending Lower Merion High School in the Philadelphia suburbs. His high school career was marked by extraordinary success; he led his team to a state championship and was hailed as the top high school player in the country. He was such a standout talent that he bypassed college basketball entirely, deciding to enter the NBA draft directly from high school in 1996. At just 17, he was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets and then traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, a team he would stay with for the entirety of his 20-year career. This decision set in motion one of the most remarkable careers in sports history. Bryant quickly established himself as one of the NBA’s brightest young stars, bringing a level of skill, intensity, and competitive drive that captivated fans worldwide. His partnership with Shaquille O’Neal led the Lakers to three consecutive championships from 2000 to 2002, establishing a basketball dynasty. Known for his unparalleled work ethic, Kobe was often the first to arrive at practice and the last to leave, constantly honing his craft. After Shaq left the team in 2004, Bryant assumed the role of the Lakers’ undisputed leader, working tirelessly to bring more championships to Los Angeles. His “Mamba Mentality” became legendary-a philosophy of relentless pursuit of excellence that he promoted both on and off the court. Kobe’s accomplishments continued to grow over the years. He won two more NBA championships in 2009 and 2010, earning Finals MVP honors both times. In 2006, he scored 81 points in a single game against the Toronto Raptors, the second-highest point total in NBA history. His drive, discipline, and passion for the game earned him five NBA championships, two Olympic gold medals, and an 18-time All-Star selection. Off the court, he was known for his philanthropic efforts and mentorship of younger players, always pushing others to strive for greatness. He retired in 2016 with a legendary 60-point game in his final performance, leaving behind a legacy that few could match. Following his retirement, Bryant pursued new challenges with the same intensity he displayed on the court. He became a storyteller, founding Granity Studios and winning an Academy Award in 2018 for his animated short film Dear Basketball, which was based on a poem he wrote to announce his retirement. He also became an advocate for women’s sports, frequently supporting his daughters’ athletic endeavors, especially Gianna, who showed significant talent in basketball. He coached her team and worked to promote the future of women’s basketball. His dedication to his family and his post-basketball career demonstrated the depth of his character and his commitment to inspiring the next generation. Tragically, on January 26, 2020, Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and seven others lost their lives in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California. The news of his death sent shockwaves around the world, and tributes poured in from fans, fellow athletes, and public figures alike. Bryant’s passing was felt deeply, as he had inspired countless individuals with his passion, determination, and commitment to excellence. His legacy lives on through his impact on the game of basketball, his dedication to his family, and the “Mamba Mentality” that continues to inspire people around the globe to push beyond their limits and chase their dreams.

I've always been a huge Linkin Park fan and I'm about basketball fanatic so clearly I'm a fan of MJ and Kobe. Thankfully I was blessed and got to meet both of them. I'm at Chester twice in Kobe once. I'm at Chester through winning and then buying backstage passes and then I got Kobe's autograph at the Staples center when I was a young teen and he autographed my shoes. I've still got them and I'll never sell them. I cried my eyes out in the second I found out they both passed.
Rest in peace Mamba 🙏
We miss you😢
Who?
@@MidwestFarmToysWhat do you mean who? Look it up.
Always a sabotaging choice from pilots flying those small planes when they are aware of the dangers that the weather brings.
Let’s not forget the poor choice of the people who choose to get into a small plane with fog so thick its blinding. Heartbreaking.
They werent in a plane
If it was never foggy then Kobe and Gigi would be alive to this day
All the pilot had to do was NOT fly straight into the mountain.
Was found out later he was drunk.
Source?
wow, you’re a genius.
"How are you poor, all you have to do is just GET MONEY" ahh comment
The last time Kobe Bryant bullied someone ended in the deaths of 7 innocent people
You mean he encouraged the pilot to fly?
@@Djacob_ I mean he DICTATED he fly. Mamba Mentality got 7 innocent people killed
You mean when Kobe started messing with the government and how they make money
@@Djacob_ Mamba Mentality says you can overcome your perceived inability. The pilot and contractor were informed of the weather conditions. And the pilot WAS KOBES CHOICE everytime. I’m sure Kobe said they had flown in fog plenty of times and gave his personal favorite pilot the confidence to go
@asdasd-rv5zo incorrect. Police and Television choppers were grounded. Part of LAX shut down for fog. The only reason they were allowed to fly is because nobody wanted to face the wrath of the piece of shi+ bully Kobe Bryant
You speak the truth & only have 3 likes.
Including mine….
It was a different time back then. Powerful dudes got away with all kinds of shit. Let’s hope the ones who try that shit now get what’s coming to em.
And for the ones who got away with it?
God will judge them..
Kobe viciously attacked and raped that woman. And he got away with it. F*(k Kobe.
Pepole who speak facts 👏
I hope you're not insinuating that somehow means he deserved to die.
Bro, why does the audio sound like someone’s taking a dump?💀💀💀
That would be me _💀_
Kobe authorized it! Then his wife went after the helicopter company and everyone else associated with the accident.
Exactly, that's what I find so infuriating about her lawsuit. The pilot had no choice but to try and get it done with such a high profile client.
@@shamekaaponte2980 Facts! I was shocked as well. Not pretending that I understand what she went through. But going after every single company, organization, or person associated with the accident when you’re already more than financially taken care of throughout life made me question her character in that situation.
Agreed Vanessa is quite disgusting for her lawsuits.
@@shamekaaponte2980Ethics matter. I am not a pilot, but I assume that they have a code of ethics like many other professions e.g. engineering, medicine, etc.. the client may not know better, but the pilot should in my opinion.

NEVER LISTEN TO FOX LA... Ever again
Bullshit!
Rip :(
That was the sound of a helicopter flying overhead. Not a crash. 🤦♂️
Listen to the end. You can hear the impact.
So you didn’t rewatch? No? Then don’t comment.
That wasn't it. If you listen closely, you can still hear the sound of the rotors going further away. The splat sound that's audible is that of an exterior door closing
That was his last slam dunk.
-My teacher
He was flying fast also. So smart. Should stayed grounded that day. Better late than never
I’ll never forget that day… the fog was so thick where I live you couldn’t see the bright lights from a store across the street. I still have no idea how that pilot figured it would be ok to fly in those conditions… it will never make sense to me. That’s murder in my eyes.
The moment the helicopter sound stopped was the moment the helicopter itself started the tragic crash
Eerie you can hear the smack in the background..... then eerie silence again😢 🙏to those families
Bro what kind of pilot is he liked dude the fog was so much like it should have been obvious that its not safe to be in the air at that time but he just had to be stupid and not use his brain
Imagine thinking "its fine, we're not going far"
I just can't imagine the panic as they're going down and the sudden thought of "We're going to die"
They more than likely had no idea they were crashing until a few milliseconds before impact and would have died very quickly and painlessly.
How does a helicopter carry an entire team and a coach am i missing something
That silence was so sad😢
“Kobe will fly higher”
-A wise man 😢😢
Who the hell would drive a Helicopter or even a plane in the fog??
