I'm definitely taking a "less is more" approach to my skincare routine in 2023. Over the past year I've tried a lot of new products and I'm ready to simplify everything.
Me too girl, same thing with my makeup. I do need to change my makeup game up a little bit. Need a more moisturizing primer because I have very dry skin, definitely need a new eyeshadow palette because I'm very very tired of different shades and Shimmers of brown, I'm in love with my blush right now ( it's the pixie brand cream blush in a stick thingy and it has staying power, the color is perfect for me, and it gives you a nice dewy look without any Shimmer!), and definitely need new lip liner, lipstick and gloss. Lip products are my favorite and I am in desperate need of some neutral colors. I love the Nars chunky lip color because you can use it alone or as a base to put gloss on top of and that's one of my favorite looks.
Completely agree with this. I bought a ridiculous amount of skin care in 2022. I opened them all and used so many willy nilly that it is hard for me to know which products were best. I am speeding the ho hum serums by using copious amounts on my neck and hands.

When it comes to non-dermatologist skincare experts, Caroline Hirons is the GOAT. I love the idea of Experiment’s reusable sheet mask, but I wish they’d come out with more colors, especially lavender.
The color of the Experiment mask is the only reason I haven’t bought it. The green is so bright! I would settle for like a sage green, but I don’t want bright colors when I’m trying to relax with a mask on my face.

the e.l.f. holy hydration cleanser is so so good. it’s my favorite. I’m on my third or fourth bottle. cleanses so well without being stripping at all. i swear if my nose feels congested and i can feel the blackheads i just do a thorough cleanse with that and it all goes away. i can’t say enough good things about it!!!
Good Molecules! I love this brand, they're super affordable and the products are actually really nice, but they don't seem to get talked about much. I personally love their hyaluronic acid boosting essence (it hydrates my skin in a way no other hyaluronic acid based product ever seems to) and niacinamide brightening toner, and I also really like their overnight exfoliating serum, and yerba mate eye gel.
I also love Good Molecules. I really love their Pineapple Exfoliating Powder, and their Glycolic Acid Galactomyces toner. I use them every single day, and they have greatly reduced my hyperpigmentation on my cheeks! I want to try their hyaluronic acid serum one of these days. I didn’t care for the eye cream…it made my eyes water super bad. Does it do that to your eyes too?
@@EnvyBlu I haven't had issues with the eye cream, but I'm careful to keep it just in my undereye area so it doesn't get into my eyes at all on accident. I've used their hyaluronic acid serum, personally, I've actually had better luck with the hyaluronic acid boosting essence. The serum is kinda sticky, very similar to the one from The Ordinary. I've seen way better results from the boosting essence than I ever did from the serum. Only thing I use the hyaluronic acid serum for anymore is as a base to mix the vitamin C powder into.
La Roche Posay has never let me down. I've used their acne cream, their moisturizers, they're cleansers, very happy with all of the results from virtually every one of their products I've ever tried with one exception. The Double Wear or double repair moisturizer. It sucks, not that moisturizing and it broke me out. Had a really weird tacky feel to it as well.
Elf skincare and pyunkang yul saved my skin!!! I (wrongfully) “dermaplaned” at home 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ I’m mixed and have curly hair and my skin freaked out! These two brands reset my skin and have helped heal it! So glad to hear they are actuallly good!
I love the idea behind the ELF and Ameon skin products, totally on board with mixing skin science and natural skin care. I'd actually love to try some of their products, but unfortunately they contain hyaluronic acid and my skin and hyaluronic acid are like two very unmix-y things (think burning, itching, redness, welts, it's not a good look). Both of these companies products do look really good though. Thanks for bringing products like this to people's attention, I feel like these sorts of products are the perfect middle path between going full on 'natural skincare' and not wanting to use products with a lot of potentially problematic ingredients.
OMG you are the only other person I've ever seen other than me that's allergic to hyaluronic acid! I thought I was going crazy when it 1st happened! My eyelids looked like puffy red raw meat. My eyes swelled shut for a while 24hours!😵💫😳 It took 2 more x until I figured out what it was.🤔 I'm not allergic to anything else in the whole world 😏
I'm happy for elf, since it's so affordable and no BS. young adults can easily afford this, and I wouldn't have any problem gifting this to almost anyone new to skincare. I use their moisturizer on a daily basis, and it's absolutely wonderful.

This year I rediscovered Purito I tried again their Recovery Cream and it made my skin so silky smooth. Then I was curious and tried the oat gel cream and the cica barrier sleeping mask
i’m obsessed with the elf happy hydration moisturiser (not holy hydration) - if you want a thicker moisturiser that still just sinks in and feels so lightweight but deeply moisturises and nourishes your skin (i have oily skin saying this!) and leaves you so soft, this is the one!!
I bought Paula's Choice pore reducing toner yesterday for the first time and immediately tried it that night, and I must say I do already see a visible change. My pores are less clogged with sebum which is especially noticeable on my chest and shoulders where I also break out. I have dry and dehydrated skin so I love super hydrating toners and essences, so the pore reducing toner doesn't do it for in that area (it is meant for oily combination skin after all 😂), but so far it's doing a pretty good job at the pore reducing/sebum reducing part. I think I'll prefer it for my body than my face though. According to Dr V, the niacinamide in the toner is probably about 3% and now I am so interested in finally trying the ordinary's niacinamide serum which I have yet to try.
Thats nice but cheap skincare isn't as good. Ive tried it all at different price points. Some items are fine to be inexpensive but id never cheap out on moisturizer personally.

Hey James, would you still have the make moisturizer as one of your favorites? Have you tried the Mary &Kay antioxidante cream? Thank you I really appreciate your opinion.
I am hoping to simplify my routine a bit in 2023. The SKKN by Kim review you did with Ola mentioned Vichy which reminded me how much I loved Mineral 89. I stopped using it only because my attention went elsewhere... like Glow Recipe, Cosrx, and Fenty Skin. I plan to return to some of my tried and trues in the new year. Oh, and I also hope to introduce some red LED light therapy. 🤞
Damn I wish I had those products from Ameon, when I was having chemo and radiotherapy, I had to use fragrance free shower gel (I ended up using stuff for babies) they gave me cream to moisture my skin, I had to use it twice a day, esp when u have radiotherapy as it can burn ur skin, once I got it in the neck area, it left me with a burn but thankfully it went away after treatment, but I had to use 2 different creams and put a dressing on it, so my clothes weren’t rubbing on it, I couldn’t even wear perfume, well I could spray it on my clothes just not the skin
My friend who nevvvver wears any skincare (not even sunscreen when outside for hours!!) absolutely loved the holy hydration spf moisturizer when I gave it to her.
I think I want to try the holy diamond cream and the experiments serum. It's only 25 dollars and looks nice. Thank you for the recommendations, appreciate ya!
Omg, so I just repurchased the Naturium body wash, and it turns out I used up an entire bottle of a contaminated body wash🤢🤢🤢 the first bottle I got was a watery consistency, then when I repurchased it I immediately noticed the bottle seemed fuller and heavier, but also that the consistency was almost like a thin lotion. I reached out to Naturium to see if they reformulated or something, but they didn't 🤢🤢 I'm so grossed out. They want to send me a new bottle, but I already have one, and they didn't do anything wrong, I shouldn't have bought the bottle when I saw the pump was up and not locked down like the rest of the bottles on the shelf. My bf said someone probably bought it then took out over half the product and just filled it back up with water and returned it, and then I bought that bottle. So im hoping thats what happened and it was just water, but omg I feel so disgusting now knowing I used that body wash for months, and it was mostly water😬😬😬
That's crazy that they would put a returned opened product back on the shelves, at least in Europe you can't run into that sort of thing as you can't return personal care products at all 😅
@@catnip4587 Obviously nobody would either lol, it's not like anyone openly admits if they do that, but I would like to give them benefit if the doubt that it might have been an honest mistake on some employees part.

I bought the iNNBeauty lip oil at James suggestion and loved it! The scent/taste and feel of it was wonderful, but unfortunately it made my lips break out due to, what I assume is an allergy. I am allergic to anything grapefruit (oil, peel oil, etc) and checked the ingredients for this product and didn't see anything like that. Guess I'm allergic to something else now, unfortunately.

Honestly I've been using the Elf Holy Hydration Face Cream for a few months now and I find that after about an hour my skin already feels dry and unmoisturized. I need something else, this was a let down.
Yes me too! Omg I’ve had that Elf Holy Hydration line in my bathroom cupboard for a couple months, but haven’t used it. So the other day I pulled it out to try it, and I absolutely hate it. I’m surprised so many people like those products. The cream is so thick, it feels like CeraVe; heavy, and packed with tons of thick, waxy ceramides 🤢 But, it didn’t even truly moisturize my skin. Then, the eye cream 🤦🏻♀️ ugh, that dried my under eyes so badly, and made them look so wrinkly. It has taken me a week to get them moisturized, and soft again. Thankfully they’re not expensive, so I didn’t feel too bad throwing them in the trash 😆
My partner has tried 2 elf skin care products, but he didn't like either of them, so I kinda pushed them out of my mind, but ive always wanted to try a couple of their products.
Can the skincare influencer gang please hype up the experiment serum more so they can ship worldwide, or at least to the UK. I've wanted this serum for the longest time!
Yes! I’ve been using ELF skincare products for a little while now and love the results! My skin is soft and hydrated and it helps control my oily areas without drying and tightening.
I’m like 95% reluctant to try ANYTHING sponsored because let’s be real there is a blatant conflict of interest there. However… I will say I really, really enjoy the Holy Hydration collection. I have a few more expensive skincare items, but I tend to prefer using my Elf moisturizer more.
Yeah I’ll be honest and say I never really gave elf a chance 😗 I tend to avoid ‘viral’ products because it’s usually over hyped BS but I’ve been genuinely loving some of their products. The toner is for sure one of my new faves and like you said, their holy hydration stuff works great!
hi james! i love watching all your videos! i was wondering if you could maybe review/give your opinions on Millie Bobby Brown's skincare brand "Florence By Mills"?
I'll give you a review on par with James's thinking, don't buy it. I never buy products from celebrities because they're not skin care or makeup experts. There are some exceptions like house Labs by Lady Gaga, but it's like going to a taco stand that also happens to offer haircuts. You're probably not going to get a good taco there or a good haircut. Save your money and stay away from the celebrity brands girl!
I love James' videos, but i can only dream of using most of the recommended products. $30 is around 120PLN, which is A LOT for a skincare product. Not to mention the cream for $85. But maybe it's just me and I'm a cheapskate ;p Nevertheless, thanks for the video :) Xoxo A.

Body shop do a eldelweiss essence used to be called drops of youth. It's lovely
Luve the way you did the sponsorship, have you always done it this way
Damn I wish I had those products from Ameon, when I was having chemo and radiotherapy, I had to use fragrance free shower gel (I ended up using stuff for babies) they gave me cream to moisture my skin, I had to use it twice a day, esp when u have radiotherapy as it can burn ur skin, once I got it in the neck area, it left me with a burn but thankfully it went away after treatment, but I had to use 2 different creams and put a dressing on it, so my clothes weren’t rubbing on it, I couldn’t even wear perfume, well I could spray it on my clothes just not the skin
hi james what would you think of olay cilligine peptide cream range please
How can I buy this? It says it won’t ship too uk? Can you send me a link please I really interested to try this 🙂
Try Vivant skin cares Retinols, the only ones I can use!
Have you tried the ordinary granactive retinol?
My friend who nevvvver wears any skincare (not even sunscreen when outside for hours!!) absolutely loved the holy hydration spf moisturizer when I gave it to her.
Not for me, but I need a looot of hydration
I think I want to try the holy diamond cream and the experiments serum. It's only 25 dollars and looks nice. Thank you for the recommendations, appreciate ya!
I have been DYING to try the E.L.F blemish break through collection but they don't ship to Canada :(
I love E.L.F.!
That's crazy that they would put a returned opened product back on the shelves, at least in Europe you can't run into that sort of thing as you can't return personal care products at all 😅
Sis if they wanna send you a free product, you take it!!!
Thats crazy
@@morgianasartre6709 I would not purchase from a store or company that puts a used product back on the floor.
@@catnip4587 Obviously nobody would either lol, it's not like anyone openly admits if they do that, but I would like to give them benefit if the doubt that it might have been an honest mistake on some employees part.
looove your videos! still need to get on the whole acid game....Smart masking devices? You thoughts. I really want to buy this compact UFO 2 mask with led light and heat. Are you familiar with this brand? foreo They have great discounts now ....
girl, don't hesitate to get it. Device is great, little sheet masks don't have any harmful ingredients. so nourishing. Just look for sales, Foreo has them on sale right now!!!
I really want to try INN Beauty, fingers crossed they get a UK stockist soon
JAMESSSS every time Experiment is featured in a video it means so much 🥲💚 thank you!!!
Nice to see you promoting cruelty free brands.
Guess I'm allergic to something else now, unfortunately.
i would love to see you review a german bran called no cosmetics, its very affordable and their message is also one of inclusion. though i dont know how easy it would be for you to get your hands on it 😅the products i use also have english text on them so there is hope
omg this is perfect timing!
You’re skin looks amazing! You’re face is glowing!!!

OMG I literally just bought the 1st elf product! I knew it was right for me just knew it! Lol thank u for talking about it! ( I'm allergic to hyaluronic acid so I have to be really careful. Love niacinamide though!)
💞💞 Hello James 💞💞 Happy Wednesday 💞💞
i been on that holy hydration, i’m trying out glow recipe coz of you and you’re loving elf now!! 💀💀😭
Freak here. Love Caroline and also the skin rocks app!
My partner has tried 2 elf skin care products, but he didn't like either of them, so I kinda pushed them out of my mind, but ive always wanted to try a couple of their products.
What they don't like or use, take it.
definitely obsessed with PSA Skincare these days.
I would love to see you test some stuff from Seoul Cosmetics.
I love the brand Skinstitute. I'd love to see your opinion on them. It's an Aussie brand
Lol is it " a dell vice" eidelweiss? Like the song?
Can the skincare influencer gang please hype up the experiment serum more so they can ship worldwide, or at least to the UK. I've wanted this serum for the longest time!
I love elf skin care and my skin really loves it as well which is amazing!!
We here!
hi james! i love watching all your videos! i was wondering if you could maybe review/give your opinions on Millie Bobby Brown's skincare brand "Florence By Mills"?
I'll give you a review on par with James's thinking, don't buy it. I never buy products from celebrities because they're not skin care or makeup experts. There are some exceptions like house Labs by Lady Gaga, but it's like going to a taco stand that also happens to offer haircuts. You're probably not going to get a good taco there or a good haircut. Save your money and stay away from the celebrity brands girl!
Yess another James video💖
Love from Bangladesh
I love James' videos, but i can only dream of using most of the recommended products. $30 is around 120PLN, which is A LOT for a skincare product. Not to mention the cream for $85. But maybe it's just me and I'm a cheapskate ;p
Nevertheless, thanks for the video :)
Xoxo

James, As one of the many people that rewatch your videos to fall asleep, I want you to know that you hugely prevent me from having sleep paralysis and ptsd nightmares. You are my sleep paralysis demon’s personal sleep paralysis demon 👺😂. Thank you for being you, and my favourite life spooky cute ‘support demon’?! 😙
Yeeeeyyyyyyyyyy ❤
Anyways luv the video
Hey james plz suggest skincare products that are available in India
