John Stossel keep doing what you’re doing! I can honestly say you had a huge impact on my own political awakening and I feel like I’m seeing things clearly for the first time in my life. When I try to reason with them (nicely), they absolutely refuse to hear it. It’s like trying to reason with a Jehovah’s Witness, or some other cult member. BTW, I was raised a JW.
Rubin didn't know enough about reality to respond. (He isn't Edward Lawson(RIP) or Matthew Fogg.) Elder admitted to me that he was a libertarian in Illinois in 2002, when I pressed him on racist enforcement of the drug war and police legitimacy, because the drug war was then, and still is, selectively enforced against the poor and racial minorities. Note: "selectively" doesn't mean "exclusively." The statistical enforcement difference is _geopolitical_ and _classist_ more than it's racist, but the racial targeting component still exists. The prior are ideas too complex for them to address with sound-bites, though.

If life is all about defeating the "oppressors", there can be no true joy. You will forever be locked in the prison of victimhood, looking for allies to help you defeat your foes, both real and imagined. The biggest fear of the insecure is being proven to be wrong. This is true for the Left, the Right, and the Middle. Humble people relish the critiques of others. The logic of this insane assertion is that, to be correct, you must be willing to accept correction. The quest for absolute truth has been all but abandoned by those who embrace home-brewed "relative truths". "Activism", without a logical foundation, is nothing but an adult, or group of adults throwing a temper tantrum.
There's a phobia of being wrong about anything from all sides today. Then the counter party will discredit everything going forward because of one point. Next you may be discredited by your qualification or natural being. Then ultimately, especially on the left, there's a higelian dialectic to just point at a solution and avoid the the logical process and consequences of achieving that solution.
John has been a true journalist for years. John has delivered the news rather than putting a political spin on it. I appreciate both John and Dave doing their shows because of the honest not biased takes on current events.
Thank you sir, for the great content. I would love to see more of these long-form videos. I guess I have a lot of time on my hands. Keep up the great work.
I always enjoying hearing the awakening moment and how fast the prospective changes when that moment occurs. I think a lot of this comes from the anger and humility one gains from waking up. The realization that those who say they are on your side have been lying yo you and have been stopping your pursuit to happiness and the self realization that if you just get out of your own way. The freedom and success you've always wanted is literally sitting in front of you just waiting for you to pick it up and run with it.
Thank you again @JohnStossel for another great video. I watch Dave Rubin, and enjoy his content. More interviews like this John!! Bring on Joe Rogan, Larry Elder... and if they will accept your invite, some of the prominent lefties.... That would be fun.
His opening statement hits home for me. My family weren’t refugees but they were immigrants. They came to this country in the late 70s. My dad didn’t speak a word of English. I won’t bore you with details but basically he now speaks 3 languages, paid his house off in 15 years, retired at 55 (65 now), helped myself and sister get our first homes. He is the example of the American dream. So sorry if I don’t understand how our society holds people back based on their race cause my father is the counter to that narrative. Yes my dad experienced racism. But he didn’t condemn the masses for the actions of a few. The truth is this country embraced my family as one of their own.
Hey John. First, let me tell you I love your video. You are the calm and reason in a sea of chaos. But I agree with Rick... Quick stories and interviews have their place... but long form interviews are great, because it breaks through the "sound bite" mentality to fully express whole ideas. Thanks very much for your work.

Wait is this the chump who told a wrestler to his face, wrestling is fake?
What a very common sensical interview! A great give and take between two informed fair minded people. This interview should be watched in every civics class.
John Stossel keep doing what you’re doing! I can honestly say you had a huge impact on my own political awakening and I feel like I’m seeing things clearly for the first time in my life. It’s frustrating to observe the obscene level of bias in the mainstream media. We need much more fact based reporting. You’re up against a formidable beast…
This first two minutes is what we need in our government until then Tierney
I live in San Francisco. When at work, I will occasionally say something that I think is obvious, but suddenly everyone gets quiet, or tense, or outright argumentative. When I try to reason with them (nicely), they absolutely refuse to hear it. It’s like trying to reason with a Jehovah’s Witness, or some other cult member. BTW, I was raised a JW.
I started watching the Rubin Report two years ago. I love it. Thoughtful, insightful and honest; and WILLING to open dialogue with anyone.
Russel brand is the only lefty i can think of that talks and will talk to everyone. I agree with 5% of his views. And i like him and watch him.
That was the same guy from the Larry Elder interview?? WOOAH
and that guy's turned right around now. Spectacular.
John, Long format interviews are lovely with you. Thank you for listening! Keep it up!
I've been following Dave Rubin for a few years now, this is the best interview of him that I've ever seen. Great job John Stossel.
Loved when Larry Elder dropped kicked Rubin in his interview. Nothing but respect for both of them!
@@JakeWitmer- Two groups, both poor, but one is much more densely populated in an area than another…which group is easier to police?
Voila…there is the answer.
Love you two gents! Both of you, stay amazing!🩷♥️❤️
I’m just grateful that I can learn and grow from informative and civil discussions.
It has dramatically broadened my understanding of how limited my experiences are.
Thank you for your work!
realeasing full interviews just confirms how well you edit it down to the meat of the conversation. great job as allways
Respect to John and Dave.
48 year old conservative christian libertarian. Love Stossel, Rubin and Rogan.
Thank you John, your 7 minute videos are excellent! You are a very smart and eloquent speaker, you ask good questions, you follow-up and you have a unique and honest point of view. Watching you for longer is very informative and a great pleasure! I’m happy watching anything you produce! Keep up the great work!!
This was an awesome interview. It was up lifting to listen to intelligent conversation. Thank you
29 minutes of truth, logic, and rational thought. Who in their right mind opposes to what he's saying?
Thank you for posting the full interview. Very insightful.
Wise words indeed
There's a phobia of being wrong about anything from all sides today. Then the counter party will discredit everything going forward because of one point. Next you may be discredited by your qualification or natural being. Then ultimately, especially on the left, there's a higelian dialectic to just point at a solution and avoid the the logical process and consequences of achieving that solution.
Most ‘justice’ movements are just looking for revenge on their perceived oppressors.
WOW, what a great interview. Much respect to Dave Rubin too. Could not agree more.
Dave is exactly what America needs!
Stossel does a good job interviewing Rubin , and Dave Rubin does a good job of explaining a number of things ...
Awesome interview. It was great seeing the entire interview. Thank you John!
There's a bunch of us who have left the Left in the last few years. I'm figuring out how best to make amends with a couple of conservative friends to whom I was previously insulting. They were right and I was wrong.
