Haha I remember one of the dialogue options in the first KOTOR. After Canderous describes his first experience with a BWD Revan: I want a Basilisk War Droid! XD
its entry to onderon's atmosphere is pretty cool but i expacted to see it half crash half land on the surface, creating a crater. it lands very smoothly considering its weight.
It's funny how the designers at Obsidian said they found the look of the Basilisk silly, so they created something along the lines of the Star Viper. While the description given at Kotor I described the droid the way it was supposed to look
The originals were kind of silly ;) - They fit the Mandalorians (warrior culture, kind of like knights so they need a steed to ride into combat!), but that didn't make them less silly (why risk being shot at directly with say a rocket launcher (the war droids were considered vehicles so heavy weapons were employed against them!) when you could sit inside a cockpit and wear your armor for additional protection, thus havign a real chance of surviving a hit with a missile!)
I was so incredibly happy when I finally got to see one in KotOR 2. I was even more tickled when Canderous rejoined the gang. Can't keep a good Mandalorian down. I really wanna see a Basilisk at full operational capacity.
Jesus, it's like a Stuka dive bomber crossed with an A-10 that's built like a tank and can VTOL. Amazing, can you imagine hundreds or thousands of these re-entering at once?
How to capture in a few seconds the epicness of the setting. You went there undercover the first time around, with Mandalore himself to do stuff worthy of a James Bond movie in a city on the brink of civil war. You escape the first time. Then you return when shit really hit the fan. LIke a big badass. Even if it's not in a real basilisk that drop from Dxun just sums up how epic this is going to be.
This scene is cool and a great moment in the game follows (if you play light side): you will have to fight very many soldiers, really many soldier, which is nice if you are a jedi.
I feel bad for the onderon guys lol there's total chaos at the palace and out of nowhere a mandalorian assault drop ship shows up out of nowhere and to make matters worse a very possibly pissed off jedi is in it? Dang man...
Yeah, thats a basilisk allright! AND hey! Princess Liela is actually a basilisk war droid, too (Basilisk MkIII)! And Luke skywalker rides her in his advanced INVISIBLE preassure suit!
uh...no, it most certainly is not the real one. Obsurdian tried to pass it off as such thinking that no one would care, but they thought wrong. Funny...they made the Basilisk out to be a Virago Starfighter copy because *they* thought the real Basilisk Droid "looked stupid." It was canon. Who cares how it looked? It's better to make it canon and look stupid, than make not even close to cannon and have it look stupid.

I originally thought the same, that it would create a huge impact like a falling asteroid. It was described as an assault ship.

Then SWTOR went and used the original designs anyway.🤷♂️
this is not a basilisk droid, its a Mandalmotors Star-Viper

You know how cool this scene would of been if it was the sentient droid mount? Terrifying while it landed.

One of my favorite scenes in either game. It matches Canderous’ description perfectly
If a Star Viper is from Empire at war, then its not a Star Viper. Kotor Takes place thousands of years before.

one basilisk routed half of the onderon army. ebin :D
The greatest war machine in SW Universe.

Yeah, thats a basilisk allright!

Maybe around 4000 BBY, but not even close in the Modern Era.
that looks more like a jury-rigged star viper than a basilisk.
