I love the way you guys are enjoying and looking at things and people in Seoul. We are not perfect country or people but we also love our capital city, Seoul a lot.
@@StephandPete As a Korean, I feel like Koreans as a people ( I know this is wildly generalizing but I think many would agree), can be rather emotional, direct (sometimes to the point of rude), and competitive. But overall, Koreans are a warm hearted people - there is a cultural concept called Jeong which is really pervasive and important in Korean culture and is easier felt than explained. It's a kind of loyalty, affection, and selflessness toward someone, a group, or even a thing. Koreans are not known to be particularly friendly or smiley to complete strangers, but there can be a very genuine warmth and care even in the most casual of interactions.
I totally agree with you. And I can see that Steph and Pete’s family can feel the 정 Jeong straight from the very beginning of their trip in Korea. I can personally feel their warmth though their video. It is incredible!

I got so very emotional when I watched this video. Hays’s reaction when he saw Ten & Eleven, the way he expressed his joy by throwing his ball to create the interaction with them, the way he shows his love to his grandparents were soooo intense !!! When Steph felt awkward in front of the camera because she was so deeply touched to see her dear parents coming to visit her from the other side of the earth…! Pete always so gentle, good-mooded and cooperative !!! And Ten & Eleven who, despite the jet lag, plays with Hays and comfort Steph & Pete so well ! This is what I call a dream family.

I’ve watched it so many times. 🥹 I’m so happy we’ll have this to share with him when he’s older! I think we have a lot of footage! But in some ways it feels like we filmed less and enjoyed the time together. But nah.you’re right. There are tons of amazing moments capture. Can’t wait for you to see!

I left Korea as that typhoon was hitting Korea (it was Sept 4 I believe). Seems like Seoul was fine after all. I am back in the states now. But cannot wait to get back out there in the Winter. Glad to see your parents joined you guys and having fun.

Hahaha you noticed! I actually edited out a clip of me saying how much I hated them hehe. I quickly ordered a cheap pair from Amazon for my parents to pack so I didn't have to deal with it. I don't know why I find buying sunglasses so difficult!

About the Spam presents for Chuseok, it's totally a thing. Pretty high quality gift here in Korea actually. There's a stigma back home that it's a cheap meal. I have grown to love it...especially the saltiness when you mix it with rice.

If you go to any korean convenience store like CU, there are so many korean local beer.. like JEJU, McArther.. so many, they are nornally 4 cans 11000 krw. You can try.. it has more strong taste..than Cass..
Oh yes we are well aware of the beer deals 😆 we’ve been sampling many! At restaurants we drink Terra or Cass but at home we like to try the craft ones.

So many cute moments, but my favorite is definitely Hays falling down in surprise @2:58! My only (very selfish) complaint is that this video is a bit shorter than the others... well, I just love seeing you guys that much, lol!! (and Steph, you are literally one of the best travel video editors imho). Also, loved the Pete cam in this video. Pete strikes me as quite observant, like how he noticed the elderly lady wiping down the slide and later thanked her in perfect Korean. That interaction was adorable. And of course, Ten and Eleven, they are just amazing grandparents. I'm actually jealous of Hays, haha! I can't wait to see Gyeongju, Busan and Tongyeong through their eyes in the coming videos.❤
And Steph, you shouldn't have to apologize about eating too much kbbq! But if you are thinking of some new things to try, I would echo what someone else has said about trying grilled eel (장어구이), paired with bokbunja (복분자), which is Korean raspberry wine. There were also suggestions for trying the Myungrang Hotdog (명랑 핫도그) and Jjajangmyeon (짜장면, Korean-style Chinese noodles), which may be fun to try in the remaining days of your Korea travel.
PS: the biscuits @9:55 are called Gun-ppang (건빵), which are often eaten by Korean military personnel. It used to be sold with a star-shaped candy called Byeol-sa-tang (별사탕). There was even a (rom-com) kdrama named Gun-ppang and Byeol-sa-tang, lol.

It's amazing we've been here so long and still have so much to try. Hays had some eel the other day, but I don't think I filmed much. And somehow I still haven't tried jjajangmyeon!

Because if yes, you might want to try the Andong specialty Andong Jjimdak, which is soy sauce braised chicken with carrots and potatoes.

Hite was the only Korean beer I had heard of before coming here, but it doesn't seem that common in restaurants here! Usually it's Terra or Cass.
