    Before (regularly) watching High Peak Autos, I always thought used car salespeople were, well, always out to sell dodgy cars with the absolute minimum spend/effort/consideration and effectively screwing the next unlikely punter who comes along next. Well I was completely wrong there and I hope there are plenty more like Matt out there (where exactly??) ! Matt has also restored my faith in humanity as clearly it's not just a business to him. Can't wait to see what he does in 2025. oh I do like the S5 too! And one other thing, please please please join Bluesky! all the best Rob

      This is due to most if not all costs being paid for by views. It's unusual for a dealer to do all the work needed as it would eat into profit. Matt can massively overspend almost every time as he recoups the cost from UA-cam.

      @qualitydobbers Місяць тому +3

      I've had numerous dents removed over the years and they usually plug the holes with rubber grommets afterwards to prevent any corrosion issues. Ultimately there's no other way of getting to the dents if they can't get behind the panel so a small price to pay.

    I have the exact same car, with the following exceptions:
    2012, 10K less miles, Panoramic Roof, Prestige Pkg with Sport differential, Audi Drive Select and the Bang & Olufsen sound system. I did something very similar to you to fix up my car after I acquired it. Some things that popped up for me were the following: Brake rotors were grooved like yours, replaced them with Zimmerman drilled front/rear with TRW Ultra pads. Front AC pressure switch went bad, cheap and easy repair, new Continental Extreme Contact Sport DWS 06 Plus tires made this car handle like a dream. Full engine tune up with ECS Tuning coil packs and NGK plugs, K&N filter, Ceretec engine treatment, new cabin air filter, etc. The color is called, Monsoon Grey Metallic and the White Nappa leather seats are called Pearl Silver, I believe. It's by far, the best car I've ever owned and plan to keep it forever. Good luck with your S5. You made a great deal there Mate! Cheers from North Carolina, USA.

    Interesting video, enjoyed watching it. I used to own the exact same model (2010 black with oyster) and agree with most of your comments. I think where we differ is how the car drives, I thought the whole driving experience is “numb” and never felt that fast. My car replaced a E92 335i, that car was far superior dynamically. Ultimately that’s why I only kept it a year and replaced it with something far more fun. The comical fuel consumption didn’t help either! Enjoy the car though, they do look stunning.

If it's anything like the Mk2 TT of the same era, the window regulators wouldn't be worn - the cables would be rusted and frayed (hence the crunching noise as the cables go around the pulleys) because Audi had the great idea of putting unprotected steel cables in the door where it's nice and damp.

    What a car Something Special Absolutely awesome it's good to see something different and rare put back on the road.
    The question I have is Are you going to keep it
    Are you going to sell it .
    I think the interest in that car will be High.

    Been looking to buy an S5 for a few weeks now. Has to be a manual for me though. Unfortunately not many about. Purchasing yours Matt would've been ideal as you're about 45 mins from me. As usual I'll end up buying one from 200 miles away.

    Love your reviews Matt and have subscribed. What i wanted to ask is what kind of reliability do you expect from a 16 year old Audi S5.Fine its all ship shape now but what do you think that car will need in a year lets say. What tends to go wrong with them and at what cost. It looks great but what might come up, frightens me.

    Lovely car, great video. I love the sound of a V8 engine too. Here in London, you pay for the privilege of parking on the street you live on. Lambeth council charge you for the amount of emissiions your car gives out. BUT the car is parked. £237 a year to be able to park my BMW 520D MHT MSport on my road. I would love to own a V8 but the costs rocket to ridiculous prices. They are trying to get us out of our cars, and on to buses and trains which are packed or quite often not running.

      Indeed they are! And one day perhaps even by 2030 if the WEF get their way and Govts cave in.. 'You will own nothing and be happy'! And have you heard of 15 minute cities, you won't being on buses nor trains, neither.

    Great looking car , I am a fan of any 4x4 so good on UK roads with all the rain we get , I have owned front wheel cars and had issues in the rain going into a street and losing the front end and also owned a few rear wheel cars and again in the rain you lose the back end so many times so the 4x4 systems gets rid of these issues. Those seats look good and wow the engine but please correct if I am wrong but those disc hubs looked scored to hell and back I am sure you could play music with them

    Great! The A5 for this gen IMO will be desired classics. I was in a awe when debuted and dare to say has aged wonderfully and is better looking than the BMW E92.
