Who else has watched these episodes dozens of times , but still watches it anyway
Like every episode 🤣
I binged watched them back in 2015, I still come back to rewatch them
Ive seen them loads of times but i still love watching them again..
Prefer the original UK series, more swearing lol
They need to bring the show back. So we can see how nasty our local restaurants are.
mitch: breathes
old man: he's the reason this resturant is not doing well
Well what are you doing the, old man!?
the old man does his best to support them both using his experience in the industry and they dont take it well, mitch does the most random shi and the wife just defends her dumbfounded husband, mitch cant handle pressure and should be moved out of the kitchen.
I’d be pissed to if my daughter married a moron 😂😂😂
It's funny cause most people are able to breathe while still being able to take action.
He’s just a square boomer dudes 🌴
I think Mitch wasn't the only problem, the cooks appeared to be severely under qualified.
DEI hire lol
Yep :(
Mitch was in charge of making sure the cooks did their job. He is obviously far too submissive to be a leader. His wife is more man than him.
And it wasn’t their money that was being lost . The cooks smirking and laughing needed throwing out before the rotten food
Cheap American business owners
You know it’s really bad when Gordon checks the fridge right after his meal😂😂
I'd check before my meal. Yucky!!
REAL!!!!!😁🤣
@@sheilalindenstein8263for real I think he needed to do that alot of the times 😂🤣
@@cidkultI guess the script was the main reason why he didn't check the fridge before eating. He had food poisoning a couple of times, that's why you see him spitting out so much food. If he would've swallowed everything he ate, he would've been sick much more.
Gordon has some guts to do it AFTER his meal because i'd vomit up the little bit i tasted of those dishes 😂
"If you went to Dublin and you serve sheperd's pie like that, they would shoot you" 😭😭😭
An Irishman would have had that and then build the cook's casket with the table he ate it at 😂
Watching in 2024 anyone? 👍
No
No, it’s 2021
No, it's 2009.
Why the fuck does everyone post the same shit? " Who is here in 2024?" It's literally the same garbage in every video on UA-cam. Are people that desperate for likes?
Yup! This stuff is timeless! 🕥📅
Whats exhausting is everyone dowm here saying Mitch was useless. I see a tired, lost, depressed man getting run over. He's not useless. He's run into the ground with stress and blame and lack of confidence. What runs through his head is likely "nothing I've done is good enough, so why try?".
Poor man.
I absolutely agree with you
@@susanhoag1869 thank you
Completely agree 😢
Literally everyone in the comments is rooting for him, wtf are you on about?
@@kaasvis1421 while i was scrolling. I saw a lot of comments calling Mitch Useless, and that he was the reason it was failing and such.
I don't understand why Gordon didn't place Maureen in charge of expediting the orders. She clearly emerged as a strong leader.
it would have emasculated him. he needs to find his voice 🤷🏾♂️🙈
I think he wanted to put Mitch to the test to see what he is capable of.
He probably did it to help with his relationship with his father in law, if his wife did it it would prove the point that Mitch couldn’t do much
Honestly the WHOLE family doesn't need to work in the restaurant. Mitch should perhaps get another job. I don't think the father would accept Mitch anyways.
@@eve3363Mitch was capable of nothing and you know it.
The genius of KN is that each episode is wiped from your memory the next day, so you can rewatch each episode indefinitely
Lol I've rewarched episodes and only halfway through I realise "I've seen this one before"
sadly i have a good memory but I still need something to watch when I eat lol
Not for me cause I have a photographic memory
Sometimes I say lines before those on show do to piss people off. Me bad

And a BEEF “Shepherd’s” Pie lol!
The dude that asked "is there a way to cook a burger faster?" Shame he was being genuine 😂😂 he wanted to know if there was a quicker way to make a burger and asked Gordon directly ...bless him😂❤️
I mean, that's the point of smash burgers. Like if something is 4 inch thick vs 0.5 inch thick, which you think is cooking quicker?
@bina nocht its where instead of pre-forming the patty, you take the burger meat, place it on the flat top and press it flat using a skillet. Gives the burger a great crust but it also cooks faster as it's thinner than a normal burger patty
@bina nocht it actually tastes much better than a regular one
@bina nocht Did u try it? i work at a smash resturant and people seem to have mixed feelings
I make my own smash burgers and they're fantastic

I feel bad for Mitch. The poor man looks depressed
Life's hard when you are as useless as mitch
yeah , , but this is one of the rare episodes where is no one is on denial & delusional ,!
And the old guy isn’t helping at all.
In fact, he’s lazy.
It's stress. His brain is fried from too much pressure for too long. It's sad, but noone can return from that.
Guaranteed his wife isn't giving him any 😻, that's why he lost his mojo..
I feel so sorry for Mitch. I have never seen such big bags under a human being's eyes before.
He's clearly doing his best, but he's not made for this crap. They should put his wife or Chief as the expeditor and have him be a silent partner or something.
Yes he isn’t he is probably made for a floor manager
Poor thing, I totally agree. He was just buckling under pressure
lmfao at calling him "chief" if they aren't gonna use his name just say "father-in-law" that man isn't chief of anything
especially his father in law constantly criticising his effects, but not making any moves to step in and help him
Mitch did well didn't he? Doesn't seem like there's too much going on upstairs. Yet he marries a pretty and intelligent woman with a rich father who gave him a stake in the family business. I don't know how Mitch ended up in that position? I feel bad for him though they all seem against him.
17 minutes in and I'm wondering how the head chef at the very least hasn't been fired. You could kill someone with that food. That's a legal issue you don't want as a business.
💯
Not to mention how they're all grinning when the contamination is exposed. Are you kidding me?
Can't fire the owner
I'm glad, that he at least chewed into the father in law as well. Mitch may be useless, but if you have so much experience as a successfull restauranteur, and you can see, that he needs guidance, then try to teach him, instead of constantly taking the piss. Because you're part of the problem...
Either guide the poor bastard, or don't put all that baggage on him.
Completely agree. The FIL was so frustrating, all he did was whine. He didn't help at all
Mitch was doing so much more than that idiot.
restaurateur doesn't have an 'n' in it.
@@liuzhou Okay, I was ready to be an absolute smart-ass, but did a quick check, and wow. My apologies, you're right on that one. Although the usage of 'restauranteur' is still heavily debated, and that's how I've mostly heard the word (English is not my native language). But the correct form of the word is, indeed, without the second 'n'.

On one episode he bit into some frozen greens tryna see what it it😂

You've clearly never fisted anybody.
@Koselill tThat's what I was thinking. What's not to understand? Hands wash!
Legend has it that Mitch is still wandering the restaurant with those 2 plates of potato skins trying to find their rightful owners. LOL
Burger was so raw, Chef Ramsey went all Hell's Kitchen on them.
i was half expecting him to say "WHEEEEREEESS THE LAAMB SAUCE"
Mind boggling to me that no one thought to simply tell Mitch "I believe in you".
Did you watch the same episode? Compliments are earned not handed out in the hopes of what you'll become.
I never get bored of kitchen nightmares
Righttttttttt😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
Same. They have good rewatchability as well.
I love how father stands there saying it’s everyone’s fault but his. He blames Mitch for everything, sorry old man, you profess to be the owner expert. Sure is an expert at sticking the knife in his son in law. He even treats his daughter like dirt.
In his defense, the father splashed out 3 million to open up a restaurant for his daughter and his son-in-law. No wonder he's pissed as hell.
Surely he should understand that when you pick on someone constantly it does nothing but break them down. He's so un-construtive
Old guy is right 100%
I mean, the soup was bad and the fact Mitch doesn't agree isn't good.
But why not just force a change, he's the owner.
I was waiting for Gordon to send the old dad home. He never did anything and he should have been smacked for yelling, “shut up” at his daughter. I can’t imagine being able to do a good job at anything with him looking over my shoulder and crabbing,
I'm always amazed when people invite Chef Ramsay to come help them figure out what's wrong, but then they don't check and clean their freezers and refrigerators before he gets there.
I'm sure the producers encourage them not to touch a thing for maximum dramatic effect.
@@nolagospeltracts8264Smart. I think you're right💯
I can only guess that producers give them as little notice as possible about them being chosen to film. But still hardly an excuse! If I was an owner I'd be up all night cleaning!
Amy did and where did it get her? 🤔😆
😂😂 when one of the chefs asked if they're making the fish to order and Gordon was just looking at him like "... Am I having a stroke? Wtf is he saying" 😂 that made me laugh
I remember thinking this years ago when I watched these episodes that it’s an Irish pub, with Irish owner, the most Irish floor manager possible and they hire a team of Mexican cooks 🙄
It's Irish food. What seasoning is used besides salt and (maybe) pepper?
A lot if European spices actually. Just not many that are "hot spicey"

Mitch was really just not built to work in the restaurant business.
It's really not for everyone. I tried it and failed hard then found an office job that I'm actually excelling at that requires slower action, no managing others but still technical skill. I thought I was a failure but turns out I was just in the wrong place.
The father didn't receive his fair share of critics he needed , he was so unfairly breaking mitch

16:09 - The guy on the left, when he hears they're not opening for dinner that evening, smiles. Shouldn't work there.
Many of them just absolutely cheap out on kitchen staff. Just get one or two talented cooks, there are always people who do it for cheaper but food is literally the number 1 most important thing in a restaurant
The real problem is the lazy staff in the kitchen, they’re taking the Michael big time.
Incredible how in all those episodes where there’s several owners, one gets scapegoated by the others while they have every authority needed to sort it out if he doesn’t.
Exactly. How were they open and busy for over a decade and suddenly everything’s terrible? What changed? Who left? Etc

Hispanic = Mexican? 🤔
Yaaaaah I was thinking the same thing Hispanic cooking Irish it's like saying Irish people love tequila 😂
Anyone else appreciate the irony that the Gordon Ramsay line of frozen foods has a "Shepard's Pie" made with beef?😂
I feel sorry for Mitch, he has a father-in-law breathing down his back constantly who should never be in the kitchen; interfering and intimidating him. He should be greeting customers instead.
His wife berates him in front of staff, which is so rude and disrespectful, that she takes no responsibility for herself (great at acting for the camera to save face). The poor man has everyone coming at him for 16 years giving him constant shit no wonder he's at breaking point with bags under his eyes and a load of stress on his face. That would be hard for anyone to unlearn after so long, let alone 3 days instantly, that takes time, patience, and understanding. Especially with a highly competent Michelin star Chef like Gordon as a consultant/tutor.
Lots of people find it very hard to speak up for themselves in these situations when they haven't been taught them early on in childhood or generally handling relationships and their respective boundaries.
Annette was lovely... these may be staged or played up for reality tv but there is an underlying truth in the management relationships.
Father in law has evrey right. It's his money being spaffed up the wall!
@@liuzhou if he’s so bothered by it he should’ve done more and stepped in. Instead he treated his family like shit ruining his restaurants morale.
One moment that blew me away is when the father stopped behind Mitche's back just to say "Im watching your mistakes"
Like...what? Hows that helpful to anything?
Then do the job yourself old man
To me it was completely his fault that the kitchen sank! Notice that no one was pressuring him until he started having massive delays with the food!
It was so sweet when the cooks were asking Gordon questions. It might have been a bit scary because they work in the kitchen but they just looked really happy
When an owner of a failing restaurant says they dont know why people arent coming and dont realize their food sucks they should never ever be in business
The minute I saw Mexican chefs in an Irish restaurant, my first thought was "I hope they got some experience in Irish cuisine"
Seems that they didn't and no one's giving them guidance.
There's no way that old Irish owner knew anything about Irish cooking. In his generation maybe even today it's the women of Ireland who did all the cooking and know all the secrets.
You know when you get a call from Gordon you know you have the respect from the King himself and when he asks you for a favour you would even cancel your wedding day for the man to keep that respect.
