    I have older home and could not get switch and wires to fit. I wound up buying spacer which did the trick. I didn't have to cut out old box and put in new.Also will dimmer work with a regular incandecent 3 way bulb ? (low-med-full)

      Great question. Here is the best explanation I could find for you: homeadditionplus.com/dev/electrical/3-way-light-bulbs-dimmer-switches/

    Question about the dimming... Does it only dim in steps like that? I was hoping for a smooth on/off. I just bought these on Amazon but if they only step dim I'll probably return them.

     @Digital David , there are multiple kinds of these light switches there is one with a plus and minus and then there is this one do you know the difference. I can't find a difference on their website.

      No it appears to only be cosmetic and style! Pick whatever you like/want! I personally think the + - looks awesome and super practical!

    Treat light Single Smart/Wifi Switches
    We've gotten the switch to connect to the net and pair with the app. Alexa acknowledes it too but the light either doesn't come on, or barely comes on. We've tried both the app, Alexa and manually doing it.
    Our wall outlet has 3 lines: Copper (Ground), White (Neutral) and a Black. The smart switch has the green (paired with the Copper/ground), white (paired with the white/neutral) and the blacks paired together. There is a red one with the smartswitch. We've tried pairing that with the black and also not used it at all. We are so lost and have tried so many combinations that my husband is losing hope. Help? Thank you!

      You need to have 4 wires... 2 blacks, white, and a ground... 1 black will be your live/line wire and the other black will be your load wire (going to your light fixture)

      Has 4 wires .. a black, red, white and green.
      How can I connect 3 wires from my socket, to 4 wires on a smart switch ?
      If you know about electrical stuff, do you know why that the bulbs would be very dim and flickering?
      If you don't know, that's ok. I'm truly just trying to find out if it's hooked up right and why it isn't turning on like a normal switch does

    I need the dimmer light switch to control a remote plug system. There are no switches connected to wall outlets in our home. Duh ...
    I have the Smart Dimmer Plug controlled by the app, but I need to have manually controlled for others without the app.
    Secondly, can a switch/plug be controlled by two phones, I tried to do it but it kept disconnecting the device from the original phone. What am I doing wrong ?

    • @DigitalDavid
      @DigitalDavid  Рік тому

      Thank you for your questions about the Treatlife WiFi Smart Dimmer Switch and Smart Dimmer Plug. It sounds like you're looking for a way to manually control your remote plug system without using the app, which can be a common issue for some users. One possible solution could be to use a separate remote control for the plug system, or to install a separate switch or dimmer that is compatible with the system.
      Regarding your second question, it is possible to control a switch or plug using multiple phones, but it's important to ensure that both phones are connected to the same WiFi network and have the same login credentials for the app. If the device keeps disconnecting from the original phone, it could be due to connectivity issues or a problem with the app itself. You may want to try resetting the device and reinstalling the app to see if that helps resolve the issue. Additionally, you can contact the manufacturer's customer support for further assistance with troubleshooting. cnl

    Hi David
    I have a ground, a black and a white wire. I feel like im missing extra wires. I've watched multiple videos and all videos have more than 3 wires coming from the wall. Thanks

      John R exactly why I gave it thumbs down. No one shows how to get the extra wire and how to go about doing that!

  • @TaylorMMontgomery

    This seems like it just steps in brightness, not infinitely dimmable like a regular mechanical dimmer. Are there any wifi dimmers that have smoother dimming?

    • @DigitalDavid
      @DigitalDavid  Рік тому

      I didn't mind the smoothness, but there are probably smoother ones out there!

      I am not sure I know what you are talking about so maybe you can enlighten me and anyone else readomg the comments... You have to have a neutral wire for this switch to work!

    So I currently own a dimmer switch in my main bedroom and another installed in another bedroom. Both are on same power circuit and they turn on simultaneously regardless of its off on other swotch. Anyone have a remedy to this. Treatlife support doesnt have a resolution for this.

    • @DigitalDavid
      @DigitalDavid  Рік тому

      I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing an issue with your Treatlife WiFi Smart Dimmer Switches turning on simultaneously. This can be caused by a few different factors, such as wiring and electrical noise, and may require a bypass module to stabilize the electrical circuit.
      If you've already contacted Treatlife's support team and they were unable to offer a resolution, returning the product may be the best course of action for you. It's important to ensure that any smart home products you purchase are compatible with your home's electrical system and that they meet your specific needs. If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to ask. cnl

    Thanks for your video bro. So I'm skeptical about buying these. THe reviews are great, but will this company be around in 5 years or longer? That is the only reason I'm still leaning towards TP-LINK ultimately it seems like its the better buy longterm. What do you think? Have you done any research on this company?

    • @DigitalDavid
      @DigitalDavid  4 роки тому +2

      You are so welcome for the video! I am so glad you watched and decided to leave a comment :) You know someone else was just asking me about the long-term view on these no-name devices and my only answer is time will tell! You can't go wrong with TP-Link as they are a proven brand/leader in smart tech. So most of these products are all identical to other no-name brands on Amazon and come from the same wholesale manufacturer in China. Literally the only thing that changes are the graphics/logo/brand on the item and packaging... sometimes even that does not change! So I am sure the manufacturer will be around long-term but the products themselves will keep switching names/brands and online sellers merge/change/exit/grow etc! Does any of that help or make sense to you? My mentality is to buy cheap (and save money) but you can never go wrong with a trusted brand and play the long-term game!

      @@DigitalDavid so it just so happens that 4 which has been on sale for $60 went on lightning sale for $51 or basically $12 each. If they last for the 2 year warranty or more without problems for roughly $255, then i think i got a good deal. If TP-Link goes on sale, I can send these back. But currently I will pay $600+ for 20 TP-Link switches. That is a lot of money for an evolving technology. At $100 per year, it will take me 6 years to recoup that. Plus newer tech will be out by then. If they fail, they are a lesson learned but a cheap lesson learned.

      Strange... Usually it's 5-10 seconds or so... As much as you probably don't want to do it I'd take it back off the wall and just disconnect the power wire (black) and then reconnect it to see if that does the trick

I tried everything possible. The smart wiif switch in my office is off, and from my bathroom switch, I can turn the lights in the bathroom as well as the office lights! GO FIGURE! ... 2 days of my time tracking, testing so many possibilities but the problem seems to be the switches.
