    I just got eggs at Wal-Mart today. The large brown eggs were $2.53 a dozen and the large white was $2.78 a dozen. I think they want the white eggs for dying at Easter.
    Nice hauls for the month.

      Thanks for sharing those prices! I agree. White eggs do seem to be more in demand around Easter time.

    Great video. You are so organized. I need to inventory my freezers and pantry and might have enough meals for a couple of months with just a few fill ins

      Aww, thanks! I am always amazed when I do an inventory with what I find! It is a great way to keep costs low for a couple weeks - or longer - depending on what you find! 😊

    $47 over but some stock up and I'd forgotten 5 grocery days in February. Trying again this month.

      @@joyfullythrivingI also somehow went over budget in Feb by $14. I apparently missed tracking a small trip which is what caused that..

    I was over $24.34 on my grocer budget. I have a gas budget as well and was under $50.64.
    My grocery budget includes dog food for our three dogs and also chicken feed for eight laying hens.
    I changed our budget in Jan to include the animals since they live here and they eat.

    • @joyfullythriving
      @joyfullythriving  6 місяців тому +1

      Way to adjust your budget based on your animals! This is why I tell everyone that our budgets NEED to be different! Oh, and I love how your grocery budget was slightly over but you made up for it by being under in gas! 👏

    • @rosannasauereisen2827
      @rosannasauereisen2827 6 місяців тому +1

      I also recently started including chicken feed in my grocery budget. My reasoning is that we eat their eggs. I don't include cats and dog though.

      @@rosannasauereisen2827 I thought about that too but decided to go on and include. Still early in the year so I may have to tweak. The gas budget is helping me so far. If nothing else it’s awareness to make me plan better. Blessings to you!

    We were overbudget by 200.00 in February. My husband found a really good bulk meat sale and bought 236.00. Hopefully that means that our March budget will be lower as we don't have to buy as much meat this month.

    • @joyfullythriving
      @joyfullythriving  6 місяців тому +1

      Yay for stocking up on meat! I, personally, think that is a GREAT reason to go overbudget because it will definitely save you money in the months to come! 👏

    You did great for February! ❤
    I was under budget too because I only buy what's on sale.
    Beginning of February Hyvee had 99cents eggs for a week limit 2 each day, but I went a few times and stocked because I knew eggs were going up. I've seen them now $2.49-3.99 depending on the store, but i won't have to pay that since I stocked. 😅
    Of course I bought up on the after Valentines 💝 🍫 sales when hyvee had them at 75% off so it was like a dollar a bag. Gotta have our Chocolate! 😂

    What do you pack in your children's lunchboxes? I need some thrifty ideas for my kiddos 😊

    • @joyfullythriving
      @joyfullythriving  6 місяців тому +1

      My kids are pretty simple. Lunch is a peanut butter and jelly homeade uncrustable OR peanut butter and jelly on homemade bread OR homemade bread with butter OR cheese and crackers. For awhile my son ate crackers and pepperoni instead of cheese and crackers. He's back to pbj now. Ha. Sometimes peanut butter on crackers, that I make myself in the mornings. They all get an applesauce cup or diced peach cup or raisins, with chips, pretzels or goldfish. Then, homemade cookies or a sweet treat for dessert. Thankfully, they don't mind eating the same lunch every day. I don't mind repetition either, so I am glad they are okay with it. Sometimes I toss in a gogurt if there is a good deal, hardboiled eggs for the girls if they ask, or toss in some marshmallows with chocolate chips for dessert. I hope that helps!
