What a great “wrap up” video. I’m so glad that your year back to teaching went well. There are times in life where we have to shake things up to see what direction we should be heading. Stretching ourselves out of our current comfort zone gives us a different perspective on many things. I’m excited that you get to go back to doing what fulfills you! I went back to teaching this year too after 8 years of homeschooling. I really wanted a kindergarten position but this Christian school needed a middle school science teacher. Never thought I would do middle school or exclusively science, but it was a blast. I had my two oldest. Next year I add in high school health, so I get my oldest one more year.

So would you say that it is easier to save money, or not spend as much by working from home? I feel that I spend so much more when I have to wrk.. always around food

Those students were blessed to have you as their teacher. I truly understand trying to juggle working and motherhood. As moms we try to do everything to the best of our abilities. I worked full time in a hospital laboratory while being a mom. My husband worked second shift so I also did the homework and activities…not to mention two years coaching cheerleading. I was fortunate like you to have a wonderful husband who helped in any way he could. I look back and wonder how did I do it but I wouldn’t have changed a thing. We all have to make choices to suit our families. Enjoy your children because before you know it they’ll be adults. My son is 24 and a software engineer and my daughter is 26 and is a drug and alcohol counselor. The one thing I think i instilled in my children while being a working mother is a solid work ethic because they have strong work ethics. I just retired in May and onto a new journey. My immune system has gotten worse since I taught in the classroom so I prefer to work from home or have my own business with some flexibility versus when I had to work (sometimes while pushing through a cold) as a teacher. I also know that I spent soooo many hours at home grading papers/entering grades that I don't know how I'd be able to juggle my family's needs plus returning to the classroom. I can only imagine returning to teaching if I could do it part time. I do enjoy homeschooling and wish I could focus just on it but since the pandemic I've had to work from home in addition to homeschooling which is definitely still very challenging.

Yes, I got one of those scam messages, which was funny and obvious because I had just left a message but within it said I was not entering the drawing and immediately got the message saying I "won". SO, it was foolishly obvious.

Our black raspberry bushes are producing now so my kids have been picking just a handful a day lately but that's fun. We got 1.50 strawberries, green grapes, blackberries and cherries, I don't recall all their prices. And bought some juice for my daughter to make jelly for the fair. It's 4H county fair prep season here so I am doing some specific shopping for that. Bought my son heavy whipping cream and fresh lemons for scones.

Wow. Even our weekly digital deals are either different or higher. Our soda is $3.49. Hamburger was not on sale. And our ribeyes were $9.99! I’m shopping for meat out of my freezer this week! But thank you for the video…it is interesting how much variation there is on these sales.

I got great sales this week 1 pound of strawberries .69 limit 4 Raspberries, blackberries, blueberries.99 Jimmy Dean turkey sausage crumbles.99 Rainier cherries $1.99 a pound Sara Lee pound cake $1.99 And chicken leg quarters for .59 a pound sold in a ten pound bag,it's a lot of chicken for us ,I'll probably cook it all and freeze half for later. We are eating like Kings this week

Love the canning jars with water, it is a great idea. I did notice that you miscalculated your peanut butter, you actually have 29 bottles not 17 based on the 3 back, which is even better. I am currently working on cutting my food budget in half from $1500 a month to $700 a month. This is food, toiletries, and cleaning supplies for all 6 of us (my husband and myself, my 2 sons (24 and 20), and my great niece and great nephew as I have custody of both (14 and 12), as well as food, kitty litter, and treats for our dog and 3 cats. I am also working on building a 3 month stock pile (eventually, I will bring that up to 6 months, but 3 is good for now). I also help out my 2 older nephews when they need it which isn't often, usually I send a large care oackage home for both on their birthdays as well as Christmas. Once I am able to get our food budget down to a more affordable amount, I am going to pick up some cases of food and hygiene products on sale to donate to the local food banks. We have had to use them in the past and I feel it is time to repay their generosity. I find inspiration in your videos and others. Thank you for showing us your amazing pantry.😀
