Reviews like this are gaining Helm more and more customers. Received my Komodo 2 weeks ago after almost a 2 year wait. The watch is amazingly done for the money for sure! Currently # 971 for the Miyako, and #6395 for Vanuatu. Roughly 8 months and then almost 4 years. Worth the wait? I would say yes. My Komodos NH35 movment has been crazy accurate I'm the 2 weeks I've had it. Hasn't lost or gained a second as of yet. Good luck to all with the long wait ! Cheers
I absolutely love your channel, the manner in which you review. My wife cringes when I watch this channel as she knows that I will be buying... Just one more watch. Thanks for years of great content.
I've had my Vanuatu for a few years now and I opted for the stainless bezel addon. It doesn't seem to come up in reviews very often but it looks really sharp and it's quite easy to swap them out. They also offer this with the Titanium version. So far there hasn't been any negative effects on the bezel action and I've switched mine several times. They really are a fantastic watch.
My Khuraburi is my only Helm so far. I could definitely queue up for this one. I like everything about it. Helm's personal touch and the extent to which they stand behind their product makes them the standard by which microbrands should be measured. Cheers!
I waited 2 years for my Ti Vanuatu ..... worth the wait. The Ti engineer bracelet is brilliant and will not be changed out on my watch for any other strap/bracelet.
So, I didn't realize the the San Martin version was a homage. I just saw it and really liked it, so I bought it. The thing I can say about the San Martin version is that it's smaller than the Helm. The case is more like 40mm and the strap width is 20mm. 5 years ago me probably would of gone for the larger Helm but the current me is happy that he accidentally bought a homage that is sized down from the original. Also, one of the reasons I bought it is because it has a Miyota 8315 in it as I wanted to try something different from the standard NH35. As usual, the build quality is very good with the San Martin.
Have to admit I stumbled upon the San Martin before I saw the Helm, so I got myself the Chinese watch. The San Martin is great. It is one edgy, toolish, heavy watch, especially compared to this titanium version. I like it very much the way it is. The Miyota 8315 has got a hacking second, 60 hours power reserve, handles well and runs accurate. I prefer the Helm's dial detail over the San Martin's, though. Thank you for your interesting review!
I am on the waiting list for a Ti Vanuatu #263 and a Miyako #1614. Currently I have a Khuraburi, a stainless Vanuatu and two Komodos. I must say that I prefer the waiting list as the previous "first come, first served" was awful. The available supply of watches in that sale were snatched up in mere minutes. I kid you not. One sale lasted about three minutes. That was the reasoning for the waiting list. I know it sucks but it is what it is. You will not be disappointed when you receive your watch. I love the brand. I think it is the best bang for your buck. Hang in there!

Fortunately, I followed your recommendation a few years ago and managed to get myself a Vanuatu and a Khuraburi, I’m 3329 on waiting list for Komodo (which I’ve been in for nearly a year) and 2971 for Miyako. Great channel always entertaining to watch (a fan from London)
Hywel, Great Channel! Love my Vanuatu Ti and find its fondly most at home during the winter months. Sitting on the wrist, the ti just pops in the overcast, rainy, sleety, and snowy conditions. Its just as at home in the sun but something about it just feels right in the harsher conditions of the year. Note, I've been wearing mine for almost a year at work around trucks, loading and unloading daily, using tools, fabricating manual labor in general. not a mark on it.
Another great review! I just got on the wait list after watching. I haven't purchased a watch in a while but this will for sure be my next one. I just turned 59 and fingers crossed on my 108th bday it will me mine!
I was on the Komodo waitlist for about a year and then got the email. It was worth the wait. That watch is so well made and so enjoyable to wear. I’ve been on the Miyako waitlist since December. Number 354 at the moment.
Alas, my number has come up and I'll be buying a Miyako in black next week...but my VP of Sales has a number in the 2000s for a Miyako, so I feel truly blessed!
I bought the Original Vanuatu over 3 years ago after watching your review. I love that watch! It’s interesting to me to see the shift in release style. HELM have the waiting list and most people seem to enjoy that because they have a guaranteed spot. Whereas Zelos have kept the first come, first served model that HELM had originally used. A lot of consumers seem not to like this model, but I thought it was the most fair & exciting way to release a run of watches. Regardless I’m waiting for a Khuraburi, number 2,500 or so, and I’ve been waiting for a year already.
I own the Helm Vanuatu, Komodo and Khuraburi and I'm absolutely happy with all of them. Now trying to get my hands on the Miyako.... In my opinion Helm makes some of the best dive watches, at the best prices and with outstanding customer service. I'm a loyal fan 👏👏👏
I joined the Vanuatu Ti list on 6/4/2021 and I'm currently #1076. I just recently got a Khuraburi and was on the waitlist for 18 months. When I saw your thumbnail I immediately came here to say Helm was the best at $350 but to my chagrin it was a a Helm :)
The wait lists have been crazy, but, it looks like Helm have upped the production numbers! I have been on the Vanuatu wait list for over a year now and in the last 2 months I have moved from number 835 in September to now at 417 and, I got the email this morning that I will be included to purchase in the next round in a few days time. Always seemed to me to move roughly around 200 per month on the list but it seems to have increased to 400-500 over the last few months!
Was down for an 18 month wait a few weeks back, managed to get a code from the FB group last week, watch arrived 7 days later on my wrist this afternoon (Scotland) Went for the white titanium Khuraburi , with white bezel, awesome little watch, up about 120 watches again after 40 years lol
I’m 180 on Vanuatu Titanium and 189 on Vanuatu stainless steel waiting list I was fortunate enough to be included in the lottery sale last year and bought a Komodo. Impressive build quality.
I like the brushed effect on the ceramic bezel insert here. I bought and returned the king turtle and king samurai because the bezel was just too blingy for my taste (the cyclops didn’t help either). Somehow aluminum has a classier look, and that’s how this Helm insert looks.
Speaking nothing but facts. Helm should actually compensate you. I personally purchased my Vanuatu 2 1/2 years ago based on your review. Hell, I had never even heard of Helm. So glad I listened to you then. These suckers are hard to find! Keep up the great work, Jody.
Same here. Never heard from Helm, and after a year of waiting got to order my first watch from them a couple of days ago. Can´t wait for my Komodo, and of course I had to put my name on the waiting list for Vanuatu and Khuraburi as well.
Your channel is great. I feel like I am just chatting with a friend about watches instead of just a UA-cam script reader. Thanks for all the great videos.
Put my name on the list after watching this when it came out, 2 YEARS AGO, which is a year longer than I waited for an Explorer II. Just got the note from Matt, pretty excited about it. Thanks, Jody.
I bought everything from Helm except Komodo, both in Ti and steel version. For me blue Miyako and Ti Vanuatu are best possible option and can be used as daily and dress watch.
I'm so glad I got my Helm when I did! Probably my favourite watch. Personally I love the size and weight of the s/s version but this one will be perfect for those who want something lighter.
I was trying to find the right timepiece for a single watch collection. YOUR video on the SS Vanuatu introduced me to Helm & i started checking out on their watches. Didn't take much for me to made my choice, it was a no brainer. Finally got myself the Vanuatu Titanium & it became my single watch collection. You have to get one (or any of their watches) if you can, totally a beast with superb value for money! 👍🏻
Love my SS Helm Vanuatu! It is one of the best investments I've made in purchasing a watch…and I've made more than a few based on Jodie's reviews. Just remember, “good things come to those who wait.” Recently I've been on a Casio kick , and now have four to call my own. Thanks for the great video. Cheers from Nova Scotia. M.
Fortunate enough to get the Ti a few months ago, love it. Bezel action isn't great but ok, that's my only niggle. Got some small scratches but I'm ok with that, thats my life and easy to brush out if it's really needed to. Think I'm 7000 on the Khua
I have a few Helm including the SS Vanuatu on the Engineer bracelet. It actually fits my 6.75 inch wrist pretty well. Chunky for sure, but like Jodie said, you can get a good fit and once you do it's a joy to wear and it's more satisfying that you have a coveted watch on wrist.
I got my Steel Vanuatu back when Helm was still doing the first come first served method...before the wait list....love it so much, great watch. Helm makes great watches...I decided to go on the wait list for the Kuraburi Ti and have had it for a couple of weeks now...another great watch by Helm. One of my co-workers liked it so much he decided to check Helm out....he's now on multiple wait lists lol....he's at about 8075 for the Komodo!
I just got my vanuatu a few months ago after trying for 2 years it's a great watch definitely worth the price and the best lume I have personally seen.
Had the SS version, brilliant watch. Sold it when my titanium version arrived a little while back, even happier with this version - it wears so well and such brilliant value
Oh my, I like. A lot. There is a very strong Sinn influence, in a good way. They’ve taken the U1/50 aesthetic and rendered it in a far cleaner and more stylish way. Really nice. I’m going to the website now to look at their line-up. Thanks for another fun episode.
Just received the newest version (2?) of the Ti this week (6/22) via their lottery. The outer bezel is Ti, but the teeth are now a steel insert on the underside of the bezel to alleviate the Ti ratcheting feel. I don't know which version you reviewed, but easy to see if you pop the bezel off. And BTW, Helm sells replacement bezels if you have the older version. Helm (Matt) has been an incredible company to deal with, in my experience. Very long wait times but on the flip side it's like dealing with a small Mom and Pop store in terms of service and communication. Thanks for your informative and entertaining videos Jody.
Great review. I did exactly as directed and got on the list a few years back... before this video was made... I was surprised when my number came up last September as I had forgotten about it. I'm wearing mine today and it still makes me happy. As summer is upon us I think I need to switch over the supplied NATO strap... and now back to the waiting as I'm #1639 on the list for a Khuraburi Ti... 😊
I put my name on the email list about 10 months ago and I forgot about it. Just got email from Helm today my Titanium Vanuatu was ready. I just finished ordering it can't wait to get it. And came here to see the review.
Received my SS version last week. Joined the waiting list based on your recommendation and couldn't be happier with it. Running -1second per day. Not too heavy or big in my opinion. Very comfy watch especially the bracelet given its 6 micro adjustments. Love it. ❤️

Got this as a gift for my brother, he didn't like it and I had to sell it. Absolutely astounding watch and I wish I had kept it for myself! On the waitlist for the Miyako, cannot wait!
Just received a "congratulations you got lucky" email for this watch. Super excited to get the sale invitation in a few days. I signed up for it on 10/13/2021. That is 484 days of waiting.
San Martin sent me theirs of this and told me it was their original design! I had told them I was only really interested in more original products.. feel cheated now despite it still being a fantastic watch.
I have the same watch and I love it! I have only 2 complaints. 1. This thing takes scratches from air. Definitely need some treatment. 2. The clasp look good but is very uncomfortable to open.
A titanium clasp is pretty unique. Like you said, most brands tend to use steel ones. It's a bit of a shame they didn't use some anti-scratch coating on it though. But you're still getting a hell of a lot of watch for your money... Assuming you can actually get one that is of course.
Komodo 2772. About 3 years ago. Turned up last month. Cool white dial with mint hands. Heavy watch head is balanced by the heavy bracelet but wears Beautifully. 😀
I've got both the Titanium and Steel versions to compare and I'm going to keep the Titanium. I like how light it is and darker colouring, but the bezel insert appears to have brushes around it. I've managed the Titanium and Komodo after about a year. 2 weeks before the titanium Vanuatu I could've had another steel, but I'd already picked it up like new at a good price. I've also got a used Khuraburi but I'm not a fan of the Miyako. I think I prefer Helm to Zelos overall.
me too......about 2 years ago. me and my girlfriend synchronized our watches to try and order one before they ran out. not sure if that was more of a pain in the butt or this new waiting list ordeal
Awesome review as always Jody! Helm do so much right! It’s not at all surprising that the waitlist is so long! Love that James Hunt shirt too 🏎 Just to let you know the Welsh name Hywel is pronounced “howl” as in the sound a wolf makes rather than “hule” 🏴
#2866 for the Ti Vanuatu, bought a Vanuatu Stainless steel from someone who didn't wear it much. Very happy, and bought a Khuraburi. Then I saw the TI model straight on to the waitlist.
Bought a Vanuatu when you first made that suggestion, actually WHY you made the suggestion. I really love the watch thankyou for the suggestion. I just put my name on the wish list for this one its exactly what I want at the moment, or a year from now!!!!
#1581 on the list for the KOMODO. I started trying to get my hands on this watch back when Helm would send an email letting you know when the watch would be available for purchase on their site. I jumped on the site on the day and time announced but the demand was so high the site crashed once and the second time I just couldn't process the purchase fast enough. . My taste in watches has changed over the last few years but I still love a great dive watch. Once I get the KOMODO in hand if I don't love I can always sell it so no real lost for me. Thanks for another great review Jodi. Keep up the great work! Cheers!
Finally received mine today. Was a long wait. Can’t say I’m overly impressed. Lots of sharp edges on the bracelet and the watch. And on the bracelet it’s only around 20 grams lighter than my daily seiko diver. Not a lot is it. Disappointingly I think it’s headed to eBay.
I got mine back when the order process more like Zelos' drop day. Lucky I suppose. I'll get my Miyako order form next week. It is quite amazing that Helm has kept their production and prices unchanged.
10:14 it is not though brighter nor longer lasting than a 13yo Gen 1 black Monster that I've also own. It is close though. And the "Monster" does not look like a monster anymore next to Vanuatu :))
I own the stainless Vanuatu and it's an amazing value for money diver. The word "overbuilt" describes it perfectly. As a compliment of course! Keep up the great work. Would love to have you as a guest on the Mr GMT show in the near future.
I'm a bit too young to remember him on track, but I grew up listening to him and Murray in the booth together. Never bettered! (Crofty and Brundle come closest)
Hey Jodi, great video as always. The San Martin was pretty good I'll tell you that. I have to say that I never handled a Helm before and it does sound like a very very good deal but a two year waitlist for a 350 dollar watch is a bit too much. Keep it up and thanks for incognito shout out.
Received the email from Helm that my number came up back in October last year and received my Ti in November. Felt like I had won the lottery!! I LOVE this watch and it’s my daily. I have a small wrist but due to its light weight find it comfy and it doesn’t wear as chunky as the looks would suggest. Put your name down on the waitlist, you won’t regret it!!
Just for grins: #5405 in the Vanuatu Ti wait list, and #3238 in the Miyako wait list. My only negative - wished the minute hand was longer, all the way out to the markers on the minute track. Ah well, guess no watch is perfect...As of Oct 12, 2022 - I am at #4688 for the Vanuatu Ti, and #3017 for the Miyako.
I'm #1988 for the Miyako... Maybe by the time I can buy a Miyako I'll have saved up enough for a Fifty Fathoms, or CW will have released a black C65 Aquitaine.
I love the shirt. When I worked in F1 James was a regular in the press room and many times when I had finished my other duties I’d find James in my reserved spot after the race. He was always graceful about relinquishing the seat I’d reserved . . .
I got it the second it went on sale. I have to say, thank the stars it's titanium! The stainless steel watch weighs a ton and I think can be used as a weapon. I was never so happy as to when I took it off my wrist. I have it sitting quietly in the watch box, level two. I love wearing the ti version in my regular rotation, although I am sure I will have to do more curls to make up the loss of exercise from moving my arm from wearing the older version, but also will save money on pain medication as well! Great review!
I feel very fortunate to have jumped on these watches early after your reviews. I now have 2 Khuraburi ( steel & Ti) same with the Vanuatu, 2 each & also I have the Miyako. Holding out now for the Komodo (funnily enough turned out to be one of the most coveted models) & I think I will be satisfied….perhaps.
when your time comes, you may not get your first choice of color, but take whatever is offered! just got notified to purchase kuraburi but passed because didn't offer the one i wanted. wrong move. matt said several months before another offering. currently #23 for komodo, so i'll scoop it up regardless of color..
I received my Vanuatu Ti nine months ago and I love it too. Mine gets worn two or three times a week and so far, only the clasp is scratched, to the naked eye at least. I am interested that you say the clasp is Ti, I wasn’t sure but always wondered since it doesn’t say stainless on it. I am about 450 on the Miyako list and wondering how I will justify “just one more watch” to my wife… To all those with the Ti version, do you find it feels a little sharp around the edges? Bezel, crown, bracelet are all just a little more pointed that I like
I was 1165 for the Khuraburi but I recently got informed I was with 50 lucky people who were no "allowed" to spend money on a watch. Just got my black Khuraburi with date in today and I really like it!
I've been on this waitlist for well over a year. I'm actually down to 607 for the Titanium Vanuatu. I actually really want the Khuraburi but am only down to 1825 on that list :(.
So I'm definitely not the highest but I've been on the list for almost a year for both the Vanuatu in SS and Ti. I jumped on the Miyako relatively quickly so I'll probably have a shot at that one first. Vanuatu 1783 Vanuatu 2207 Miyako 1264 So I may actually own a helm sometime in the next year.
Nice looking watch, pretty chunky.. I like the idea of titanium to cut down weight but scratches like buggary. That bezel looks alright, my oris has more bounce back than I'd like
#7350 for a Komodo
#2859 for a Miyako
#4163 for a Vanuatu

Got mine about 4 years ago ,great watch......built like a Tiger tank ! The Lume is the best!!!
Excellent value and a nod to Sinn without encroaching on being a homage. I'd take one !
I just got my vanuatu a few months ago after trying for 2 years it's a great watch definitely worth the price and the best lume I have personally seen.
Just added myself to the list. 5530. Time for patience training
I just got notified that I’m up for the Khuraburi. Placed my order for the blue/orange w/ date, 4:00 crown. 😁
i now have all three. the Komodo in white and orange are great but the Vanuatu is my fav. i now have been selected on the wait list two years later.
I got mine about 4 weeks ago. I love this watch. I did also got the stainless 2 months ago. The wait was long for both.
I finally got my Komodo last year, absolutely love it.
Received my SS version last week. Joined the waiting list based on your recommendation and couldn't be happier with it. Running -1second per day. Not too heavy or big in my opinion. Very comfy watch especially the bracelet given its 6 micro adjustments. Love it. ❤️
How long was your wait time?
@@livesblue not 100% but between 12 and 18 months. Was happy to wait and I'm glad I did.
@@TheSlatman83 man I'm sitting at about 10 months currently, and I'm over 3500 on the list right now. Doesn't seem like it will be that short for me. :(
@@livesblue I was 4600 + 18 months ago when I signed up, I'm currently 2500+. I bought a used one with no box off eBay for $315 had to order a couple of links to replace some damage. When my number hits I will buy it and resell the one I'm wearing, it will end up costing me nothing
@@winstonsmiththx1138 this is what I've thought about doing as well. Seems like they come up for sale often enough in good condition. Thanks for the response.
Finally! You weighed the head of the watch! That's a useful piece of information for us who tend to swap out straps.
Got mine a couple of weeks back. I forgot I was on the list, best way, it’s then a great surprise when you get the email. The watch is incredible!
I’ve got a Vanuatu in stainless a a Kuraburi in Ti. I love both! Well worth the wait!
San Martin sent me theirs of this and told me it was their original design! I had told them I was only really interested in more original products..
feel cheated now despite it still being a fantastic watch.
By chinese standards it IS original design. They had the idea to copy the Helm all by themselves.
Soon you can become en San Martín Europe dealer 😄😄😄😚
@@felixangellopezalonso3993 I doubt that. Vintage first for me every time. Preferably broken so I can fix it
@@MyRetroWatches you know that have certain black humour in my comments. Jody is good but you are ours hero. 😄😄😄
(Too love you Jody😚)
I have the same watch and I love it! I have only 2 complaints. 1. This thing takes scratches from air. Definitely need some treatment. 2. The clasp look good but is very uncomfortable to open.
I'm liking the Impact font on the bezel.
A titanium clasp is pretty unique. Like you said, most brands tend to use steel ones. It's a bit of a shame they didn't use some anti-scratch coating on it though. But you're still getting a hell of a lot of watch for your money... Assuming you can actually get one that is of course.
i just ordered mine today (9.oct.2022) after just under a year on the waiting list (24.sept.2021) and i CANNOT WAIT!
Looking forward to the titanium komodo. Only that watch looks and wears reasonably well on my small wrist
Would love to see them do a smaller 40mm, 12mm version of this
Komodo 2772.
Started on the wait list at around 3000, and now finally down to 680… should finally get the call up early this year!
Got my SS when it was 1st come 1st serve , I think it was 2am UK time release time and it's still my favourite
me too......about 2 years ago. me and my girlfriend synchronized our watches to try and order one before they ran out. not sure if that was more of a pain in the butt or this new waiting list ordeal
Awesome review as always Jody! Helm do so much right! It’s not at all surprising that the waitlist is so long! Love that James Hunt shirt too 🏎
Just to let you know the Welsh name Hywel is pronounced “howl” as in the sound a wolf makes rather than “hule” 🏴
Well, a Gareth should know! Thanks mate!
Love my Ti Vanuatu! It’s toes the size line on my 7” wrist but works really well with silicon and parachute straps.
Agreed King Turtle $350-360 usd on eBay right now same sapphire divers rated but no love note
Ahahha! No love note, but definitely the 'instant fix' option.
I am around #2600 on the Vanuatu waiting list - despite advancing 200 places in the last few months. Off to check out the Sinn delivery times.
Love the Tshirt Jody. James was a real character...great watch too.
I'm a bit too young to remember him on track, but I grew up listening to him and Murray in the booth together. Never bettered! (Crofty and Brundle come closest)
That's an amazing piece all the way through. The price isn't bad either, but that wait list is "bonkers"!
Somehow , I got the titanium Vanuatu and then managed to snag a Miyako as well. Both bangers for the price.
I have one of these... 100% agree.
...and I am #4301 for Khuraburi.
Hey Jodi, great video as always. The San Martin was pretty good I'll tell you that. I have to say that I never handled a Helm before and it does sound like a very very good deal but a two year waitlist for a 350 dollar watch is a bit too much. Keep it up and thanks for incognito shout out.
Helloooo George!! Try and get your hands on the steel Helm mate, it's pretty amazing. Cheers!
@@JustOneMoreWatch I'm sure it is.. a lot of watch for the money! Thanks again.
It's called, create an artificial shortage to get more customers!
@@mikesey1 100% correct, at least they kept the price to what it was.
Yep, I would buy that! It seems a lot softer and nicer than the Sinn.
Lol they did! Im getting both!
I love the shirt.
When I worked in F1 James was a regular in the press room and many times when I had finished my other duties I’d find James in my reserved spot after the race.
He was always graceful about relinquishing the seat I’d reserved . . .
You worked in F1? 😍😍 What did you do? In my next life perhaps....
@@JustOneMoreWatch, is it possible to communicate via email?
I prefer to maintain my anonymity . .
3642 Vanuatu Ti. Been waiting 9mts so far. Can’t wait !
#2859 for the Titanium and I already have the SS version, which is as you say awesome. Is there room in a collection for both Jody?
You definitely got me on to Helm. I now have 1 of each model in SS. They are really great value.
when your time comes, you may not get your first choice of color, but take whatever is offered! just got notified to purchase kuraburi but passed because didn't offer the one i wanted. wrong move. matt said several months before another offering. currently #23 for komodo, so i'll scoop it up regardless of color..
How can a small company give so much for so little? Amazing value. For those of us who don't have luxury brand money your channel is an education.
I am about 450 on the Miyako list and wondering how I will justify “just one more watch” to my wife…
To all those with the Ti version, do you find it feels a little sharp around the edges? Bezel, crown, bracelet are all just a little more pointed that I like
#1,371 for the Khuraburi. Been on the list for over a year now already.
Vanuatu 1783
Vanuatu 2207
Miyako 1264
So I may actually own a helm sometime in the next year.
This has become my favourite watch channel on youtube
Nice looking watch, pretty chunky.. I like the idea of titanium to cut down weight but scratches like buggary. That bezel looks alright, my oris has more bounce back than I'd like
