My 10 yo me when i first saw it, didn't think it was a dragon, i only saw a weird crack that i can pickaxe and when i did, i got these 'khezu whelps' which sucks to me. But then when i replay the game at 15 yo, i started to realize "oh sh#t it's a daora corpse"
yeah, reptiles still shed their skin but most of them other than snakes do it in big chunks and patches, not by peeling it off of their backs like insects.
This is my favorite ecology vid I just love how you can hear the metal breaking as he molts. It reminds me a bit of zinc. Also the title needs a correction the videos is from 2nd generation games MH dos and mhfu not third gen such as MH Tri or portable 3rd (third Gen didn’t have kushala)
I'm assuming the interior of the shell has a layer of film or oil that facilitates the process of sliding out of the shell. That and Kushala Daora is basically made of metal anyway. The fresh moly may be softer, but I can probably bet that even a freshly molted Kushala Daora has a pretty solid skin before it hardens.
Kushala always held a special place in my heart because he was the first elder dragon I fought. Now in rise they gave him such an epic fight ! He’s definitely my favorite elder dragon besides MHW Alatreon.
@@bzchii7474 No, it doesn't have all the world monsters. It's pretty good, gameplay feels a lot faster than World, but its still pretty barebones. If you love monster hunter or want to get into the series for the first time, go for it. There will definitely be an ultimate version later, but there is still fun to be had in Rise!
@@quirkykirkplays i played unite, p 3rd, and then world. That was all on PSP and xbox. Now i shifted to pc and unfortunately world data doesn’t transfer so i was thinking of getting rise.
I like to think that the Rusted Kushala Daora that appears as final boss and main antagonist of 4U High Rank Story is Rusted because the Master of Defense sliced its head.
I remember playing this monster with my friends. There are two of it. One is lancer and other is gunner (myself is longswordsmen). Noe annoyingly, my gunner friend always friendly fire everytime (to the point that we rest call him as Kushala Daora's ally). 😅😅😅 good ol times
it sheds it and spreads out of it like a reptile does when its skin gets too tight the old one flakes and becomes a dead husk and then with enough tension the reptile can crack it off or will scrape it off on rocks and surrounding places till its free of its old tight skin and is now comfy in its new one
Good question. How does a lizard shed it's skin? How does the Butterfly break through it's cacoon? My answer; it's biological, the rusted skin of a Kushala will break off over time. Like other animals, they know when it's time to molt. 😉

It's skin probably has some sort of oil that reacts with something present in the air to produce that darker cover
