These women are very brave. Thank you for sharing your stories. I pray that you’ll be able to continue going forward in your life. My heart goes out to their pain.
I am very sad about the fact that they won't take back the woman with her childern in Urfa. What is the fault of this inocent childern? Every human has the right to start over they didn't harm anybody. I'am living in turkiye too. Does anyone know this woman? I wish i could help her in some way... They went trough such a trauma and now their own people won't take them back. How sad is this
That was heartbreaking, but after all this people suffered, we can not know why decided to have zero tolerance for the children coming from the violence. It was very hard to hear, maybe the most hard part of the documentary.
Yes. As much as a feel for Yazidis I disagree with this part of their tradition. It shows how traditions of different cultures and religions are so bad. Empathy and caution over all else should triumph over tradition and religion.
I was also very disturbed that they would not help that woman because she had 2 children that weren’t 100% Yazidi. I know nothing about their culture or anything else but as a human being and mother myself I cannot imagine being in a situation like that. I don’t understand it. They should have helped her.
Some Muslims have a deep hated prejudice against Yazidis, viewing them as inferior. According to certain interpretations of their faith, Yazidis are seen as having no rightful place and should be fought against. Of course, this doesn't apply to all Muslims, but many turn a blind eye to these issues because it's seen as justified according to their religious texts. This is why Yazidis are the way they are and have difficulty accepting Muslim children, in particular. To Yazidis, Muslims represent something harmful-how could anyone follow such a religion? But since Muslims are the majority, Yazidis feel the need to protect themselves and avoid allowing Muslims into their circles. It's a harsh mindset, but Yazidis, by nature, are peaceful and cannot afford to let their guard down.
Lol. Not at all. Spreading lies about our culture and religions. Not all yazidis are religious and nit all yazidis believe in the caste system led by a an old men. That's the main problem here. The religious leaders doesn't want half yazidis but they also don't want intercaste yazidis so they can continue to oppress the lower caste. As hurtful and shameful as it is. Our kurdish culture is backwarded and misogynistic. These yazidis leaders killed intercaste yazidis couples
It is so sad that the children, through no fault of their own are the ones to suffer. Suffer not the children. Such brave women. The horrors they endured by ISIS is unimaginable.
