  • This Roadrunner RS5 is riding perfectly now. Made my two typical upgrades, PMT tires and carbon fiber handlebar. Plus the optional steering damper really makes this scooter very stable. Great beefy build quality, the full review will be out after about 200 more miles!

    Can the RS5+ 2.0 also be upgraded to 11 inch tires in the same manner?

    This video has single handly helped me to decide between the RS5 Max and the Vsett 10+R. Split rim is the way to go.

    • @ScootaGang
      @ScootaGang  5 днів тому +2

      I used to agree with you but after riding both split rim and solid rim scooters it becomes obvious that the tube is the main point of failure. Having a tube might make the tire change easier, but you will have to change it more often. Tubeless tires rarely go flat in comparison they are just way more reliable.
      So yes at the end of the day, split rim is easier to change, but in reality you will prob spend more hours over the life of the scooter changing blown tubes versus the tubeless counterpart. Def something everyone should consider when buying a scooter, and if you have a scooter shop near you that can help mount the tires, it's not that expensive of a job.

    I need to buy PMT tires. I've only been riding for 50 miles but I'm not liking the stock off-road tires. And off-roading a scooter isn't as fun as I thought it would be. At least not with a 60v 6000w scooter that weighs 100lbs.

    • @ScootaGang

      These are superior in every way, highly recommend. Been riding PMT for like 3 years now on about 10 different scooters, it always massively improves your ride!

      @@foxsinwolf7477you know you downgraded in size… and comfort. The 65 number vrs the 55 will make better for bumps.
      And the pmt are 10.8 inch almost 11. Where the stock tires rs5 comes with are 10.9 but they post them as 10 inch for some weird ass reason
      But 85/65/6.5 is 10.9 inch tires
      100/55/6.5 are 10.8

      @@dinachoueiry6073I'm pretty sure that each PMT tire has their benefits, I think Fox was talking about the 10x3.50 PMT eFire tires which is a better option for any 10 inch wheeled scooter that can take the width of the tire in stride.

    • @andrewbarratachea

      @dinachoueiry6073 it's not that much of difference in size dude. PMT is still better than any nylon tire.

      That's a bummer, yeah if you do this with the bead sealer like in this video around the edge of the rim it will hold air very very well. Plus you could put some tire sealant in it to prevent going further and really be flat resistant.

    Yes want to see the review as soon as you can.I think after looking at numerous options in this class I want something well built and reliable.I want the MAX and looking forward to the review.Not to many reviews other than ginger on wheels which compared the new version vs last.I think I will prob get this and can't wait.Like the channel bro.Why does YT block emojis?Also add very interested in range.Reported around 30 miles realistic.Of course dependent on use and terrain.

    • @ScootaGang
      @ScootaGang  2 місяці тому +1

      30 miles of range for me might be possible at slower speeds, but I think its more around 25 miles at my pace and 200 lbs. Great range though equivalent to my Mukuta and Maxfun for sure no problems with range on this scooter, for this price point it's right there.

    Glass cleaner works great to help the tires slip on and off easier for those that are struggling. Those looked pretty easy to mount though.

      Yeah you can if you need it, but makes it too slippery for me to be honest and ends up being more effort. These 11 inch tires slip over the rim so easily compared to small scooter tires

    All scooters should come with split rims, you can replace a tire or tube in 20mins on the road.

      Tubeless do not suffer from constant flats like tubes.

      No all scooters should just go tubeless, tubes literally have no advantage to any scooter imo. Just another failure point, that fails pretty often too

  • @semsemis
    @semsemis Місяць тому

    I used both options on my scooter Laotie, the price was kit PMT 120 euro, GST kit 30 euro! Yes, PMT grip and ride softness on the road are better, but tire wear is twice as fast, in addition, PMT is slightly narrower than GST and in case of a puncture it is very dangerous, since the tire instantly loses air and it almost flies off the rim of the wheel, with a GST puncture you You won’t even feel it right away, and if the tire gets punctured, you can easily drive home at low speed. Conclusion - PMT tires are not for everyone; for practicality, GST is better

    Im thinking of upgrading my tires to PMT 10” or 11”?? & the shocks to EXA 291R 2000lbs with the Rebound adjustment.
    The Front EXA shock is 125mm instead of stock 120mm , do you think that extra 5mm would be enough to avoid the 11” tire rubbing as it will angle the swing arms slightly more.🤔 Back shock is the same 150mm so no issue
    Also would some spacers not allow the fender to fit with the 11” tires . I enjoy riding off road .
    Thanks 😊

    Thinking about getting a RS5 MAX or a Mantis King GT. IS the Roadrunner just as good? I love how you can remove the battery and that also probably makes it easier to carry up flights of stairs lol. The 11inch tires seem like a great idea. Did you mean you shaved the shocks off a bit too so it would fit when you mentioned shaving something off a bit?

      Try moving your brake lever and throttle a little bit away from each other. If they are too close the magnets in each can interfere with eachother. Noticed the same issue with this and the Maxfun 10 pro with the same throttle/brake combo.

    you do realize you put the tire on backwards right? The arrow on the sidewall designates the direction for the tire to spin. I have over 1000 miles on my RS5+. At first it had some brake issues right out of the box, but fixed those and no issues since.

    • @ScootaGang
      @ScootaGang  2 місяці тому

      It's correct, check again...
      I also put a 145 mm rotor on the front if you notice, and two shim washers, now the new pads make full contact and the scooter stops much better. Anyone with the Max can do this, not sure about your pro model how well your brake are aligned out of the box.

    I am no math wizard. But Isent the 85/65/6.5 tire size 10.9 inch.
    Vrs 100/55/6.5 is at 10.8
    Making the stock one bigger tire. Only reason the other one looks bigger is because of the bulge. 😂.
    You down graded in size. But get the rubbing because one tire has more of a flat look
    They actually sell 11.1 inch tires 90/65/6.5 on there website roadrunner
    Oh also you put the tire on backwards 😂
