- The Tiger heavy tank is one of the symbols of the Wehrmacht. This massive vehicle, with its sturdy armour and a deadly gun, left quite an impression on people - especially when it made its debut on the frontlines. As you know, Tigers were unable to save Germany from defeat, but the work of German engineers had a lasting impact on the global tank industry. Naturally, Tiger tanks are available in War Thunder as well; they can be found at Rank III and Rank IV of the Ground forces tech tree. Today we’re going to talk about the ways you can unlock the full potential of these tanks!

fun fact: during WW2 the tiger II was so feared by the allies that there were more sightings of the tiger II than units produced
You can sight the same tank multiple times and mistake it for a different unit

I remember the first time I ever used a Tiger. I was invincible, my angling impeccable, bouncing shots from 4 different enemy tanks from different directions all at once.
My first premium purchase on WT was the Tiger II sla.16 cause i was a rank 10 noob and believed all the Wheraboo memes and boy did i get my cheeks slapped cause i didnt know what angling meant lmao and that was before they patched out taking like 20 or less rounds would leave the ammo stowage in your turret rear empty

i have a little historical complaint to make: The tiger 2 Turrets were both designed and made by Krupp Porsche/Henschel only had a competition for the Hulls which Henschel won. And how it would be right either bring in the real Porsche Hull with both turrets or rename the existing models to an early and late version. (Round turret was the early version and the more boxy turret was the later variant)

Yes, I pointed this out a few months ago on previous video. A small mistake that really annoys me.
But the early turrets were ordered by Porsche and had a different Traverse system than Henschils Tiger II makeing them yet again Porsche Turrets.

shame that the 105mm tiger 2H is no more obtainable unless you arledy had it, but the tiger 2H sla.16 is still pretty good, incresed mobility means a lot.
"is no more" is somewhat misleading as its still in game but currently unavailable if you dont already own it

It's worth mentioning the tiger II's machine gun is incredibly useful against planes, with high elevation angle, near 360 rotation, and fast rotation speed. I'm glad you guys mentioned how stable the gun is at low speeds!
There is one Tiger tank in particular, the VK 45.02 which is a version of the Tiger II Porsche. I'm not sure about it's relevance in the war, but it surely was experimental. I wonder what it'd be like in the game.
(Edited end note): It would make a great rendition to an earlier B.R for the Tiger Column!

@@panda1345 Ah I see, well we'll never know what it'd be like in War Thunder now. It'd be practically pretty hard to replicate an imaginary hull especially when there are different designs for it.
@@Pipino_il_Longo Yes, but I'm not talking about World of Tanks. I know that World of Tanks has it in their tech tree, I've never really researched anything about theirs and how it's like on their end. I'm curious as if how it'd work in War Thunder instead.

I love the Tiger II (10.5cm) that was in the game, It's an Absolute beast

I like the Befehlswagen Tiger I P the most since the upgrade to the engine. It is about as mobile as the Tiger I H, though not quite of course. But the armor makes up for it and you can get out of trouble fast!
The Tiger II 10.5cm then is my favorite Tiger II version. I love the upgraded engine and it is the closest to the E75 I can get.
best tiger lineup for 6.7 ground RB: 10.5cm Tiger II (H), Jagdtiger, and for a no- tiger "medium tank", panther 2. 1.75km optical rangefinder on 10.5 and panther II really does help, especially when most enemy rangefinders usually can only reliably go up to 0.8-1km.
Yeah, and with Italy or American CAS on the other team your lumbering chunks of armor can't even leave spawn. Honestly, the way balance in this game works, german heavies are just not worth it. No armor = best armor.

useful fact : T25e5 weak spot is right in front of the vehicle but very small! yes it was driver hatch just above the frontal plate there will be 2 small driver hatch
Best tiger in game is the Tiger 2 105mm, I love it for it's gun, and it's engine upgrade. Makes a massive difference, and can keep up with panthers.
A shame it got removed, but when they start doing blueprint tanks, I think it will make a comeback.

I agree about liking very much the 105 variant but I think the 88mm one (i got the premium with upgraded engine) is overall more effective due to reload rate. But I still like a lot the 105 and I play it with much pleasure

As a Tiger main, I did suffered a lot. But after I was getting used to it, I was dying less and scoring even more kills. It's all about angle! 🐯
You forgot to mention that the germans didn't pick the Porsche Tiger was also because the engine was horrible and verry frequently stalled or even caught on fire, not to mention that the tracks also frequently broke or sinked into the ground

4:55 Same speed in reverse. Looking at the same tank upgraded to Pz.Bef.Wg VI (p), it seems you overlooked that part, it only has 4 reverse gears and 28 kmph instead of the 8 gears and 31 kmph.
My favorite Tigor Tonk is the Heavy Tank number 6. The HT #6 Really makes the 5.7 Japanese lineup good. If u don't have it it's pretty much just America 5.7 which isn't great but having a Tiger 1 and a sherman backup is great to have

When using my tiger 2 I menacingly go around every map using the winter camo. I have noticed many players backing off or doing bad decisions when they see it up close.
For a future update, I recommend giving france the MTLS-1GI4 as part of a combined dutch/belgian subtree (kinda like taiwan, SA, and finland) and make it like 2.7 or 3.0 with the ability to scout

Best way to play the Tiger I? Play it like any medium tank with decent firepower and everything else above average. Know the map, hide from enemies and shoot before they shoot you. Just basics. You can't overly rely on its armor like the Jumbo or KV-1 (Zis-5).
Best way is to play it in another game where its actually balanced. Uninstall this garbage or play Russian mouthbreather lines.

I like the Tiger 2 10.5 that you removed a few years ago. Other that it's horrid reload speed, it's a great tank. It's too bad that a real prototype was never built.

I was always super good in this tank. Now I'm unsure if i can play it now as so many people are being taught how to kill it. These videos are just great
I recently came back to the tiger after a long time, and i still enjoy a long list of kills quite often. If you know how to use it and take advantage of the environment and the situation, you can still easy win with it

The hull is designed and made by henscel and the turret designed and made by krupp. The P and H just a code for batch 1 and batch 2. 5:59
you got something wrong with the "porsche tiger". this model was also design by henschel but posche produced it. the tiger II P was the first model but was replaced fast with the better H-variant.
Correction:
The first Tiger II‘s were not made by Porsche, the reason why they have an different turret is that when Porsche and Henschel handed in their designs for the Tiger II Porsche thought they would win anyways, so they already started producing turrets for their variant. But then Henschel won so the already build turrets were placed on the Tiger II hull

Yes uts just your regular old Tiger, but it is a wonderfull addition to the Japanese ground forces
As I tiger H1 to a King Tiger (H) I would recommend people to just carry 45 to 48 rounds but only PzGr 39 since it's more probably that you find vehicles that who need lots of munitions
Also that use the Smoke if you hear a plane since they would attack the smoke thinking a tank is there, and if you fight captured Panther shot them with the MG yo see how it is positioned and if the Turret it's vulnerable.
For the Kings Tigers....play as a Sniper or flanking tank, player usually expects you to attack from the front

As a PS5 player I wish I could get some of these tanks somehow like the KV4501P, Sturmtiger, and the Elefant. I’m so disappointed I missed my only opportunity to get these awesome tanks. I’m at least hoping I’ll be able to get the Maus this year since I keep hearing that it returns every November, but I really wish I could get these other tanks as well to add to my collection/line-up

tiger II is next to impossible to use because it constantly face post war vehicles from the vietnam war era with heat-fs what completly ignore armor, tiger I is more usable in game but an uptier it has a very difficult time facing more advanced vehicles

do not carry that much ammo? i often carry on 5-10 rounds and still almost always get ammo load exploded. might as well carry full ammo, seems to make no difference either way.

What playstyle should you chose for the tiger and panther?
They're both really good at medium to long range. Make sure you angle your hull in the tiger.
For the panther make sure you never overextend, you have a very poor reverse speed and decent armor, but keep in mind lots of things can penetrate your front plate.
In my opinion the panther overall is a better vehicle, but it depends on how you like to play.
Rush and die so they will lower the BR to reserve.
The Panther excels in sniping, the Tiger I (especially the "E" model) in a Hulldown position. Both tanks are thrown often in far too small maps, in which their muzzlebreak is a very viable weakspot for other tanks (especially the stabilized ones -> Shermans). For the Panther, dont show the side and calculate for the low reverse. For the Tiger I, dont angle and stay still - its not enough, use the sidearmor together with hardcover when backing up to shoot and drive back to cover after that (dont forget about the 62mm lowerside plane which they didnt mention in the video, its a big weakspot).
