- When you think of modern combat aviation, you simply can’t escape the concept of an air superiority fighter. This class of aircraft has a pretty long history already, spanning decades: from some early subsonic aircraft to jets that break the sound barrier as if that’s absolutely nothing. Today we’re going to speak about a pretty cool group of aircraft that belong to that category, namely the best 3rd generation fighters.

Understandably the tornado and J-8 and the Kai are “3rd gen” at their core, however the Kai and aforementioned platforms in the variants shown in the video are technically 4th gen platforms. Especially how the J-8F is actually newer than the F-22 so theres also that

@@subarucar.-584 Gaijin says they can't do that because it would take a lot of time to find a match and of course it will when there aren't many people playing top tier and we have 16vs16 games. 32 players for a match is a lot and it makes top tier an unenjoyable mess. 6vs6 would be the most ideal and it would lower wait times significantly.
The game is ready for BR 15 or 16 but Gaijin does what they do best, nothing.

Hey WarThunder, can we get declassified stealth aircraft (F-117) in game? Top tier is more than capable of countering the stealth advantage, and stealth would be a massive step forward for the game and its community.
Which classification are you using to place the Panavia Tornado in the third generation? Only the PLA has it as a third generation aircraft, and that's alongside the MiG-29, F-14, and Mirage 2K
In case you didn’t know, china ranks fighter jet generations differently from the west. Stealth jets like F22, F35, and J20 is classified as 4th gen, and things like the F15, MiG29, Su27, F16 are 3rd gen. Mig21, J7, J8, Phantom are classified as 2nd gen. So when the PLA says the tornado is 3rd gen, they really mean 4th gen translated to western classification
The Tornado F3 should come with the Blue Circle radar by default, and only get the actual radar as a researchable upgrade - just like the real one 😅

Kh-66 missiles on the MiG-21PFM are firing incorrectly in online matches since the last major update.
I can not reproduce it in test drive, but it happens about every other missile fired in online Ground Realistic Battle matches.
The missile will come of the rails extremely high (or sometimes low, but mainly really high), even after leveling the plane and giving it some time.
This causes the missile to completely lose range of its (SACLOS) tracking, rendering the MiG almost completely useless in Ground RB.

Forget nerfing anything. When will you fix the fools who bring 1 tank l, no load out, and ruin matches. This game has turned into who has a line up, not necessarily the skill to win. If you have no line up just make a match for them, or make a game mode like air rb where you only get 1 tank and make rewards more.

Totally this. They shouldn't get matched with people bringing a proper team, one spawn and quitting hampers teams massively.

Why Mirage F1C and not F1CT?
Hi Gaijin, can you add the IFV in the English tree on BR:10.0? Unfortunately Warrior is not enough for this BR.
Is the Mirage F1C really useful? According to the spec on WT wiki, it has poor thrust to weight ratio, meaning that it should avoid loosing speed aka manoeuvring at all.
JA37D has low thrust to weight ratio? What about the Mirage F1C?
having seen that you have added a lot of nations to war thunder I suggest you add Yugslavia for certain it may seem stupid but we must not forget that the Yugoslav military arsenal is extremely rich both in aircraft and land vehicles I can tell you mentioned the m 80a a tank derived from the t72 or the bvp m80 and many others this would be really beneficial in the eyes of the Yugoslav war thuner community

As a Japanese tree player, to saying that the F-4EJ KAI having a better radar and deserves to be at 11.7 made us suffer. Most of the time we get killed by others main nations cause they have better missiles while we having a very similar weapon to F-4S. The only reason that make us feels ok with it staying at 11.7 is to add the AAM3. Which they really do in JASDF before they retire it.

The F-104 seems to be my favorite for now.
I have played a lot of gen 3s between BR 10.7 and 11.7, but nothing, absolutely nothing, will even come close to the dopamine provided by the F-104S.ASA as it zooms pass the battlefield at M1.5 slamming vulcans here and there.
Probably the most beautifull airplanes of the game, but my favourite is the TORNADO!! 😎

No one complains about a jet as much as people did when mig 23 mld was released, the forums were crying because this jet smashed everything in its way, no matter what nation.
This tells me that the USA tech tree has bad 3rd gen fighters.

Okay so you're acknowledging high altitude fighting and bvr as fights that usually happen....then please make it a thing to happen in game. Multipathing never existed, missiles alongside powerful radars (radars on 4th gen aircraft which so far us modelled to at least had SPD) hit targets more accurately, and even Aim-54's had a sophisticated enough radar in the missile to allow for high probabilities of hitting a target.
Please allow bvr to be an actual option, this would in turn favor high altitude fighting like there should be along with some really amazing moments for the players. Please fix this problem Gaijin.

Why do American Phantoms not have AIM9Ls, not just American but other Phantoms at 11.0+. They had them in service in real life HISTORICALLY. You guys praise your cash grabbing game as trying to be as historical as possible right? So do it. All these MIGs21/23s included have all aspect missiles at 11.0 up to 6 how is that fair some even at 10.7. Not to mention the F14A doesn’t even have its AIM 9Ls. You even have pictures in an F14A article taking about AIM9L missiles and how it carried the HISTORICALLY on the War Thunder Wikipage. Yet it doesn’t have it in game and it’s an 11.7. Make it make sense.
