- In the late 1930s the Soviet tank industry was in a very interesting place as there were numerous tank designs competing for the spot of the perfect heavy tank. In the end, though, after thorough testing, countless land battleships were swept aside to give way to the one and only Kliment Voroshilov tank, or simply KV. This vehicle was a progenitor of the whole series of tanks that played a major part in WW2... and this video is all about those armor-clad monsters!

It really should not have been added at all. As a KV-220 owner I haven't used it in battles after being on the receiving end of that tank. It's just that broken op compared to most vehicles at that br range. Some more experienced players can play against that thing on equal footing but against most players it's just non-stop seal clubbing

Why does Stalin hate you for that particular round? Not an insult but I feel like the KV 2's shell was guided by Stalin and hit you I would be very much confuse as well.
My favorite is the KW 1 C 756 (r). The cannon is great, and the armour is super good. I love taking out in sim to grind (not as an imposter i plaster it with crosses)

The Zis-6 was my first premium, I got it when it first came out and it remains my favourite tank all these years later
Not my first premium but its def my favorite. I use it anytime I play 5.3 Soviet and it never fails to curb stomp.
I love the KV-1E, paired with KV-1 ZiS 5. I use that mostly when playing downtier and it's so fun.

To the both of you, and as a 220 player, no, it really doesn’t bounce long 88s, as long as the shot doesn’t hit the cheeks, and it’s good to give Germany a taste of their own medicine at 5.7 so😁

@@VolkKorvi281 nope most of the time it really eat the splash damage getting crew orange only they have to aim so perfectly just to hit the weak spot in some occasion it pen through and only damage 2 crews

The KV-1S was such fun when I used it. For some reason I never noticed it having less armour, plus the new turret design it has is very trolly when it comes to bouncing shells.
My favourite tank? KV-1 (Zis-5), it's just amazing, I have +300 battles with +500 kills and -/+300 death, a pure monster

KV-2s are the only KVs that didn't get much from volumetics!..
as a japan main and having just gotten my first kv-1 and kv-2 i love them, being able to tank shots from most calibres, contrary to japanese tanks being taken out instantly with he smallest rounds

KV-IB is my absolute favorite tank to play. It's a moving bunker and smart shot placement turns it into a killing machine.

Using the Marder 3H with the PaK 40 75mm cannon to kill the Kv tanks is so satisfying
Really wish the Object 229 aka KV-9 can come to the game sometime... it's a really interesting design and rather unique compared to other upgrades on the KV series of tanks
While the would be cool warthunder is focused on being super realist

Oh man i love my KV-85 , really capable tank even in not so experienced tanker. Tho when played by one it is a nightmare for enemy team.
The thing is the kv 85 Is so middle child that not alot of people know how to kill it
Its a shame that the KV-2 1940 is unobtainable in the russian tech tree but its a regular premium in the german tech tree, the early production is the researchable one, and the experimental varaint is easier to obtain than the orignal

The kv-1 l-11 is an absolute beast. For very good armor at it's br, you get a decent reload speed with a weak spot on the front (driver's optics) so it is a pretty balanced tank.

The KV-1's are my favourite heavy tanks especiialy the KV-1S, it actually has such a nice reverse gear.
My favourite one is the kv1 zis 5 , it stood alive against an attack of 5 tigers and I did double kill with it and I defeat a plane with a Canon shot, its incredible.

wonder if they'll do an art of winning for the churchill tanks. there's quite a few of them and it might be interesting
the churchill iii is definetly suffering, with solidshot bouncing from flat armor and all. funnily enough, the 6-pounder had apds ammo.
It's amazing that Warthunder can add non-made and non-used tanks and vehicles, planes, boats, etc.
I think the description "unplayable" is the best. After a few meters or seconds on land, on the water or in the air, the final destination is reached. You are shot out of the game by enemy programs as if there were no missed shots, rebounds or an element of surprise - and then immediately switch off again.

The KV-1 C german tank is what helped me grind up to the early cold war tanks... so it's my favorite XD

Air RB player here. Is there any way you guys could add ambient temperature, air pressure and humidity to the mission screen for each battle ? It would be good to know how much we could push our engines as well as how hard it will be to climb to altitude, plus a rough idea of when we can expect to conn at height.
and it would also be nice to finally see how different fuel loads affect performance, that should have been in the game forever ago

for me that would be the KV-1 L-11, it has good armor and firepower and is faster than other tanks of his class, other than that, aiming from the comanders hatch on the top of the turret is exelent and is good on maps with a lot of hills, and is good as suporting fire.
Could you add exterior lights on the vehicules? Like navigation, formation or takeoff/landing lights on aircrafts and headlights for tanks for example.
I absolutely love KV2 ZIS 6. Absolute glass cannon. Perfect ballistics and pens nearly any armor.
It can even overpressure Tiger 1 and other heavy tanks.
then you can overpressure Tiger 1s with M4A3(105)'s HE or Chi-Ha Short..
at least in test drive is not much more accurate that the normal KV-2, and that one can overpressure any tank!..

The KV-1C756 was OP at times, but since the BR got changed it feels very underpowered. Atleast for me.
1st time I fought a kv 220 my team went head on and I think it got 7 of us before a light tank flanked it.. Well the light tank couldn't kill it either xD
I would take this videos weak spot hints to heart if I didn't already know that VOLUMETRIC would eat 80% of them.
KV-1 (L-11) monster of low br and KV 85 it's not a perfect tank but it's do his job pretty well for me

I loved KW II 754 (r) but after gaijin removed its AP rounds and left it only with HE/HESH it wasnt that good anymore. I rarely play it nowdays :/

Kv-2 Zis-6 is the one do best in. Had a good 9 kill match with it yesterday. A few great ones. Best when I can sneak around.
KV2 turrets also could not turn while on a hill due to the uneven weight distribution

My personal favorite its the KV-1 L11, i could play pretty much any other KV tank (except for premiums), but there's just something fun about playing the KV-1 L-11

The KV series is ridiculously easy to deal with War Thunder.
You shoot them in the lower front plate or flank and shoot, then watch the fireworks.
Will you ever add the br changing for bots in custom battles?
I only have three KVs, the KV1s with the l-11 cannon and the "S" variant. i also have the KV2. these are all monsters to play on the battlefield, though the best Ive ever had was with the KV2 just stranded in the middle of nowhere on the mozdok map and the enemy team tried getting their shells at me but i survived almost all shots and destroyed like 3 - 4 enemy before i died. But the flaws of the KV (not of the kv2) was that their armor isnt always going to protect you. and their guns sometimes fail to pen other tanks due to less than 100mm pen (I alr have that much pen in japan with the chi nu, chi ha lg, and the m24). but overall the KV is one of the best tank series ive ever played.

irl it wasn't jsut the loaders reloading, the commander and gunner had to help reload the KV-2 aswell

Personally, the ZiS-5 is my favorite as it makes me feel like a god. Unpenable and yet still able to kill plenty of enemies, that tank will do serious damage if you use it right.

Art of Winning on KV-2:
Step 1: Peek out
Step 2: Get hit in your gun breech
Step 3: Repair for a minute
Step 4: Reload for a minute
repeat
Step 5: get bombed
kv-1, kv-1b, kv-1c, kv-1E, kv-85, kv-1S and kv-2 are laughably easy to kill if you have a 75mm flinging apcr

I was in a match where everyone went to the C point and a enemy kw2 rushed to the point and got blasted by the whole team, it was too angry to die, only the driver was alive and it was taking hits from everywere, i tried to ammorack it with my STUH and HEAT round but it wasnt enough, at the end it burned because it was hit on the motor
So you're telling me after all these years of calling it the KV-1 "Sport" just for fun I wasn't actually wrong
So for the kv 1s, you could say the s does stand for sport
“We are gonna balance this tank with a ‘weak’ gun. It can only pen around 70mm so balanced! Even though that can still pen most tanks”
* Regular KV-1 is good for its BR. Feels like a true heavy tank. Pretty vulnerable to German 75mm guns.
* KV-1E is a beast and is at the best BR. Angle the turret at 45 degrees at your enemy and it bounces even 88mm shells. Gun is bad and you'll struggle to pen other heavy tanks.
* KV-2 got its ammo nerfed recently and kind of blows.
* KV-1S is good at its BR of 4.0 with amazing reverse speed and the extra crew members helps, but the T-34s at the same BR are better overall imho
* KV-1 ZiS-5 is a KV-1E with a better gun. Being at 4.7 makes you fight a lot of 5.3-5.7 tanks that you struggle to pen with and their guns can go right through you. This tank clubs 3.7-4.0 tanks if you're downtiered.
* KV-1C used to be amazing before they upped its BR from 4.7 to 5.0. 95% of the time you're always fighting against 5.7 tanks that clap you.
* KV2 ZIS-6 got its pen nerfed recently so its struggles to pen tanks now. BR should be dropped from 5.0 to 4.7.
* KV-220 is an absolute beast. Amazing armor and the gun can pen almost everything at its BR.

0:48 but you will always be getting uptiered so you will ALWAYS get one shot killed from long range by a tank two br ranks ahead of you lol.

The biggest complaint I have is the battle rating system. Doesn’t seem to have a really a logical placement systems. Instead pushing in the direction of “balance” aka who ever complains the loudest tanks will be up tiered or down tiered. Instead I’d like to see tanks put into battles that fit their TIME PERIOD instead of well this tank is to good against what it was designed for let’s up tier it.

The kw2 is my favorite because its almost identical to the kv2 but it doesn't have to fight german guns
Its really good for grinding sl and in combination with the pz.bef.wg.iv you can get an average of 60k sl per game. Sometimes i brawl in close quarters in the kw2 and win plus i can even hold a point alone.

People say the KV tanks are good or annoying yet whenever I use them I’m constantly worried about getting sniped across the map cos the fragile turret ring
But here's something to add in your update but could you remove the feature to remove in the tech tree about having a specific amount of vehicles to unlock another rank it would improve the game a lot
It'd be cool if anyone could get the KV-2 (1940) but the was years ago, and there aren't any left on the market.
