personally I always felt that Earthrise is where the trilogy lost a sense of identity Like, its called War For Cybertron, why are we on earth already? Like when I heard Siege was the first of a trilogy with Cybertron in the title, I assumed that meant we'd have three lines about the war on Cybertron, then we'd go to earth and as someone who liked getting the G1 characters with Cybertronian alt modes, I was and still am disappointed that didn't continue, there were still so many 84-85 characters to give Cybertronian forms to, I wanted the coneheads as tetrajets, a Cybertronian Blitzwing, pre-Dino DInobots, etc etc, and now it feels like that will never happen
another reason I disliked the transition from Siege to ER is that it felt like we lost uniqueness and experimentation in Generations Siege was familiar characters yes, but it also was doing them differently, it was new ideas grounded with recognizable features, but with Earthrise and everything since it has become just "recreate the likeness from the cartoons", there's nothing new, no trying stuff out, no doing things differently, no imagination despite Siege being a major change in how Transformers Generations was done going forward, it was ironically the last hurrah of the old style of Generations, where instead of painstakingly recreate the animation models of characters the designers instead opted to stylize them
@jacliffh9221 yup Like if I was in charge of the creative direction this trilogy took I would do it like so: Part 1: Siege, just your typical Autobots v. Decepticons war Part 2: Invasion, the Quintessons attack Cybertron And Part 3: Apocalypse, the war escalates to devastating proportions
Imma say it, the Siege Seeker is better than ER, better articulation, better paint and plastic quality, and unlike the ER version, it actually deserves to be repainted over and over because its just that good and give me my SIege-ker Slipstream, Sunstorm, Bitstream and Coneheads already hasbro
I got the 86 SS Optimus, but i kept my earthrise netflix edition Optimus. Especially because i got all of the add-on kits for him and the trailer that i kept from the regular earthrise. But war for cybertron, earthrise, and kingdom (to me) were all one unit. Even though they had different titles, they all are perfect for one another.
Dude the obscene use of translucent plastic was baffling to me during earthrise. A lot of transformers toys that used translucent plastic during the mid/late 2000s and early 2010s made sure to fortify the translucent parts with solid plastic. Like, translucent windows would be fitted behind a solid frame that way the solid parts would take the brunt of play stress. With Earthrise the designers were just like "Fuck it" and made the whole structure translucent, including vital parts that were necessary for transformation. That was just such a dumb decision. Like, so so dumb. And it set a precedent for figures using translucent parts moving forward. Like, as interesting as Legacy Animated Bumblebee is, he still has translucent shoulder connectors that look brittle as fuck. Im not touching that stuff no matter how good it looks.
@NimSuedo Yeah, and I'd argue he's on his own level of being a standalone Chug Optimus. Cuz he's just THAT good owning wise, but if you could. Give him an Energon Axe that you could get for 9 bucks from Ali Express that's basically a resin casted Energon Axe from the Centurian weapons kit too, cuz he looks AWESOME with it.
Lies! Deceptions! Earthrise was a good sequel. *NVM. You made good points about quality control and the clear plastic. I also paid for the Thundercracker Skywarp pack for $90 on eBay unfortunately.
I agree with you the earthrise line was OK, but it has some good figures like Skylynx, the conehead's ( I know they are a repaint but they look good for me) and the the figure i wanted the most i had to be that leader optimus, I had already given up on not having it, but i was lucky to pre-order for the reissue of this year and oh my god what a great figure, I am very please. Cool retrospective dude.
2:25 yes the micromasters that don't stand up. And they fall down backwards. 🤬 And if a toy breaks the legs by accident or an arm you have to buy another one. BS I'm not paying $15 just for a tiny little robot that turns into a shield that lost its arm or a leg.
I will say that I got Optimus Prime for free via by accident, because I specifically clicked on the Doubledealer, and I instead received Optimus. (I eventually got Doubledealer. And a few years later, I also acquired Knok and Skar, and for good measure, the 35th Anniversary Soundblaster, since I still had to contend with Rumble and Wingthing as well.) I was (and still am) very happy with my POTP Punch-Counterpunch, and I figured that I should get Siege Barricade to have my own Dominus Criminal Pursuit set. So what happened after I did that? I GOT THE SET ANYWAY. (Still, that as its benefits. Two Punch-Counterpunch(es) that could each be put in a different robot mode.) Unpopular opinion: I like Earthrise Arcee. (Recap includes: Optimus Prime, Arcee, Snapdragon, Doubledealer, Exhaust, Bug Bite, Soundbarrier, Smashdown, Hubcap (for the cannons needed for Legacy Ironhide/DK-2 Guard), Rumble/Frenzy, Wingthing, Knok, Skar, Barricade, Punch-Counterpunch.)
6:27 my double dealer was good until one of the legs came off. 😂 And by Jesus Christ do you need the right tool for the right screw. And then pray to God you can put it back on. Unfortunately mine's history. I gave up on him.
3:09 yeah we all know the issue. He can't transform that wall in vehicle mode. 😢 And why is everyone hating on cliffjumper? Sure his trunk is a pain in the ass to put in. But he's not too bad in robot mode. And nobody can find runabout. The black one. 😢 Or run amok. Jesus you think I'd remember who's who.
Everyone has issues with er qc... Except me, I have 5 of the datsun brothers mold, er prime, 3 cliffjumper molds, and I have no issues at all I know I'm lucky though
I'll disagree with you on one point, I think SIEGE Prime is a significantly better looking and better playing toy than ER Prime. ER Prime downgraded the proportions and transformation (did make his shoulders better tho for poses). Siege's gimmick of the shield that turns into an axe also gives him a playability edge. I still like ER Prime but i dont think it did better than siege's prime. P.S. You mentioned exclusives... my favorite seeker and one of my fav transformers of all time is Thundercracker. Still dont have him...
Earthrise figures is good. Not the best. But good. But the show? I was like "what the hell is this??" "Where are the Earth modes?"😂 I forgive the earthrise Arcee because it is impossible to transform from that car mode design to that robot mode design. Ss86 fix it a little. Still huge backpack, Still a shellformer.
when earthrise came out i wanst collecting mainline, but i got wheeljack an i luv him. but now i honestly want them to jus completely redo this line and jus no clear plastice and fix the qc. because this line does hav awesome figs but it jus sucks ther all bagged wit poor qc. fuk covid
To Be honest, Earthrise 4 years later didn't age very well, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. Like the selection and theme of action figures are pretty weak.
I always found it funny/annoying that the "War for *CYBERTRON* Trilogy"...basically abandoned the Cybertronian aesthetic after Siege and went right back to Earth-mode stuff lmao.
Did I make this video, I feel like I'm the hearing someone else's voice, but it's voicing all the thoughts I've had, so it has to be me right?
This feels like PerspectiveStart
I'm so glad I'm not the only one with an optimus with a broken leg
I'm so sorry
Thats savage
I'm so sorry for you
Fr it was so annoying

I’m still hoping for the alternate timeline where we got Cybertronian coneheads in War for Cybertron: Breakout😢
@jacliffh9221 yup

Your channel is really underrated, I couldn't believe you only had almost 600 subscribers! Great videos!

You should review the Volvo Optimus, i think you'd be SURPRISED on how good of a figure it is, compared to it's Earthrise counterpart.
I’ll have to check him out. Proportion and alt mode wise he does look a lot better than ER prime.
@NimSuedo
Yeah, and I'd argue he's on his own level of being a standalone Chug Optimus. Cuz he's just THAT good owning wise, but if you could.

@NimSuedo please do a review on transformers earthwars
Also distribution gaved up and 80% of those figures didn't saw shelves in many countries.
For the longest time, I thought fand hated the Earth Rise Prime for simply not being "G1 enough"
The yellowing…oh the yellowing…
Lies! Deceptions!

6:30 I personally still perfer the Siege figure over the ER prime, but it is still good
When you hear WFC gets its own series but its all geewun slop
Very underated
you need more subscribers
YES A NEW VIDEO
My earthrise prime is still in prime condition and it’s constantly being used
i was slandering ER Optimus ever since it came out i think I'm entitled to rant about it still.
for real though good video

Everyone has issues with er qc... Except me, I have 5 of the datsun brothers mold, er prime, 3 cliffjumper molds, and I have no issues at all
I know I'm lucky though
2:56 yes sir 🫡
The amount of jojos clips got me tweaking
I like micromasters, but I wish they had better articulation (see Dr. Wu Extreme Warfare collection). But I understand cost issues.
Bro is hating to hate 💀
It was a horrible time to be a Transformers fan in 2020
I skipped Earthrise, except for Optimus Prime.
I only wish they’d rerelease sky lynx with better QC
I miss Micromasters lol

Nim Suedo are you G.I. Joe fan?
I saw one of the live action movies when I was a kid does that count?
Siege was an abomination. The other 2 were no better
Siege was better than er, its not about 86
is kingdom and legacy united even more disappointing than earth rise?
when earthrise came out i wanst collecting mainline, but i got wheeljack an i luv him. but now i honestly want them to jus completely redo this line and jus no clear plastice and fix the qc. because this line does hav awesome figs but it jus sucks ther all bagged wit poor qc. fuk covid

Only got to 2:49 The music is so annoying. either change it or get rid of it. Ruins the video and takes focus away from what you are saying.
I think Earthrise is one of the most Overrated and glazed things in general in all of the TF fandom
I don’t hear much people talking about it so I’m gonna think otherwise
@BelobogBogatyr obviously not now, it's been 4-5 years, but when wfc was around, it was true
I always found it funny/annoying that the "War for *CYBERTRON* Trilogy"...basically abandoned the Cybertronian aesthetic after Siege and went right back to Earth-mode stuff lmao.
