Yeah, I noticed it shot up seemingly overnight lol I finally have a window to record some more content this weekend! I have a lot of response videos to put out haha
My first picks I had to make where from those cheap steel rulers. Found some silhouettes of picks online and printed them out, glued them to the ruler, then with my dremel clamped in a vise I'd carefully grind em out then spend hours filing and sanding them. Now for a real challenge, open a SFIC lock with your MacGyver picks!
@@LockandKilo I've got three SFIC locks with no keys. One is a 7 pin Arrow, and the other two are InstaKey. The Arrow isn't difficult to get picks in (haven't popped it yet though) but the InstaKey cores have some extremely ridiculous warding. Small looks like the jaws of a shark. I can barely get a pick past the first pin or two. I definitely need to wait til I can order thinner picks next payday. Definitely the final boss of locks for me at the moment.
This so takes me back to my days in high school when I first got in to picking! Anyway, given how easily they bend, paper clips aren't really suited for making hooks to SPP with, and therefore you're better of making rakes with them. PS: You could use a door to crimp the paper clip for a tension tool.
Picking with Paper clips teaches you a lighter touch since they will bend and break if abused. So if you are not heavy handed with picking than you are teaching yourself properly. Being rough on your picks with being heavy handed will have your picks quickly broken and than yours out a good set. Because life is a lesson you’ll learn it when your through.
This is how I started when I was 12yo in the school. My friend and I used to pick locks to play. I stopped doing it in the high school and then one day I found a video in a UA-cam channel and I bought a Chinese set and play again
1000 Subscribers! Way to go! Huge jump! Shows that you have great charisma and content.

In the field even with actual picks on SFIC's you mostly just get lucky haha
Idk if paper clips are enough lol

Some of the best picks are made from stuff around the house and shop.
The amount of random tools I have had to make on the fly in this trade is hilarious lol
thanks, I'm going to try this,

True, or use the keyway of the lock to bend it haha

Awesome video!! I wonder if you could use the lock itself to bend a pick?
That is possible lol
Nice. I love the lock picking community such nice people
