How I used IOD Paint Inlays to Hide my Mess!

  • We used two hollow core doors and leftover stash trim pieces .
    DIY Paint White Swan as a base coat.

    Touch up paint:
    DIY White Swan and Letterpress Gray

    Finish:
    1/2 Fusion Tough Coat and 1/2 Water in a spray mist bottle as the first finish to set the pigments. When dry, finish with your choice of clear top coat or wax.

    That's the first time I noticed the wee critter on it! Lol I saw the bird but not the other lol and I watched this on Facebook the other day! I'm so glad you got this up because it's something I want to do in my craft room!😁
    The hollow core door is perfect for my craft room to hide the cacapoodie!
    It turned out so gorgeous but especially with your Christmas tree and everything else!

    So I should have watched this first. I started small with a old wood jewelry box. I painted it black and used rose chintz. I think using the brayer is a wonderful idea as there were so many wrinkles in the paint, I didn’t like it. Maybe the black shows it more??? Try again today, thanks for the inspiration Lynn♥️♥️

      You can expect if you apply a thicker layer of chalk paint you can expect texture. I’m going to try it on Fusion again to see if I can get a smoother finish. Stay tuned! 💓 Happy New Year!

    Gorgeous panels! I love this so much. What color of paint did you use to blend the inlays? Oh, and you never mentioned what you did with the ironstone you removed from the shelves. Are they hiding in your hubbies workshop? Lol.

      I sold some of it! I think I mixed a bit of Fusion Pebble with white.

    This looks really good but considering the cost and difficulty of applying it I'd go for a transfer or wall[paper or even spray adhesive and fabric. I love toile and the panels are very elegant.

      No, you can use other mediums as well. I also did a video sharing techniques to use inlays in a clear medium. 💓
