John is the ultimate role model. You realize his mother went to Law School just so he could go to better schools when he was younger? What an amazing family. God bless the Urschels.

What he's doing at MIT is far more impressive and important than any time spent during the NFL.

After his concussion, there was several months that math was quite difficult at his advanced levels. He probably decided not to chance further dramatic effects on his adult life passion from his childhood hobby.

Good for him. I’m glad he was so frugal during his NFL career..he put almost all of his money bank.

Smart move. Football is a rough sport, and getting brain damage is not worth any amount of money.

This nigga is like the superman the nazis wanted to create except he is not blonde haired and blue eyed. Seriously though how rare is a person like this? Not only supremely athletic but also exceptionally intelligent. And most important, highly motivated. That just doesn’t happen very often.

Prediction. He’ll be back around football. With his math skills, he’ll be taking metrics, similar to what the NBA and baseball did, to football, as a way to evaluate players and plays. So he’ll get the best of his both loves!

People don’t realize even with cte it’s passion i don’t think it had much to do with the cte issue but I think most it had to do with football stopped being a passion it’s really taxing the long training camps in the summer it’s a lot

K this guy played Football in High school and all of college. pretty much his whole life one has got to wonder if it's already too late for him since CTE is progressive itl only get worse as he ages even after retirement.

Other than the kicker, the O-Line has the lowest percentage of concussions.

@@haroldbottom3474 it’s not always the concussions that do it, but the repeated sub-concussive hits to the head linemen get damn near every down. Look at Mike Webster.

@@eriklakeland3857 I'm pretty sure Mike Webster gas a few concussions during the era he played in the league. The problem is, it was called "getting your bell rung" or getting your clock cleaned".

    "I like hitting people"????
Not a noble or "smart" reason to play. Come on, man...
