I think it could be a back handed joke about the people who play the game (or games) and never meet women, and are thus alerted by a real woman's presence. Lots of that occurrence in Japan, people that live in computer shops.
As a first time MGS player and still early in the Phantom Pain, I found this hilarious. I had no idea how versatile the CBox was. I haven't used it at all as I didn't see the point. Glad I found this video.

First off, the radio comment plays anyway you do it Second off, the canon way to do it (at least in my opinion) is to play Paz Humming or Love Deterrence on speaker. Cardboard box is just the super easy way.

You have to unlock all delivery points on either map to get the waterproof box perfect for when it rains smoke box needs all delivery points in both maps and the smoke box when destroyed (P.S not waterproof ) has a smoke grenade effect to help you escape
