The first commercial paperboard (not corrugated) box is sometimes credited to the firm M. Treverton & Son[8] in England in 1817.[9][10][11] Cardboard box packaging was made the same year in Germany.[12] The Scottish-born Robert Gair invented the pre-cut cardboard or paperboard box in 1890 - flat pieces manufactured in bulk that folded into boxes. Gair's invention came about as a result of an accident: he was a Brooklyn printer and paper-bag maker during the 1870s, and one day, while he was printing an order of seed bags, a metal ruler normally used to crease bags shifted in position and cut them. Gair discovered that by cutting and creasing in one operation he could make prefabricated paperboard boxes. Applying this idea to corrugated boxboard was a straightforward development when the material became available around the turn of the twentieth century.[13] The advent of lightweight flaked cereals increased the use of cardboard boxes. The first to use cardboard boxes as cereal cartons was the Kellogg Company. Corrugated (also called pleated) paper was patented in England in 1856, and used as a liner for tall hats, but corrugated boxboard was not patented and used as a shipping material until 20 December 1871. The patent was issued to Albert Jones of New York City for single-sided (single-face) corrugated board.[14] Jones used the corrugated board for wrapping bottles and glass lantern chimneys. The first machine for producing large quantities of corrugated board was built in 1874 by G. Smyth, and in the same year Oliver Long improved upon Jones's design by inventing corrugated board with liner sheets on both sides.[15] This was corrugated cardboard as we know it today. The first corrugated cardboard box manufactured in the US was in 1895.[16] By the early 1900s, wooden crates and boxes were being replaced by corrugated paper shipping cartons.

@@koda7666 My dad plays metal gear :)
Man. Seeing that MGS2 Tanker mission and hearing the music takes me back. It defines my teenage years. Many, many late nights were spent with that game.
Fallout:war, war never changes
Metal gear solid: war, war changed
The more things change the more they stay the same.
@@nicolasachille4371 My Senior high school year English teacher said that lol.
Cool story bro
@@8834pogi What do you mean?
"Did you say *BOX* ?!"
I guess all the guards are kittens in MGS4...
Guard: *has wooden crates all around him*
Also Guard: "Woah how strange to see a box here"
26:23 An Amboxlance?
That is *SO* adorable!
The best healthcare ever....
I can't believe how a simple cardboard box has achieved legendary status.
I just watched 40 minutes with a video talking about cardboard boxes
*Time well spent*
You just watched a Box here about Boxes.
Also time well spent
Yup, time well spent.
Not something smokers usually do. Expecially when they use the Phantom Cigar.
>"A box? Here?"
>is in a place full of boxes
MGS5 Is the actual meaning of "Has technology gone too far?"
Perhaps they should have invented a reinforced cardboard box like made of steel XD, that would mean tech has gone bad or too far, right? XD.
@@chrysm6842 if it's made out of steel, then it won't be a cardboard box anymore.
Woah, technology!
Peace Walker cardboard boxes were just ridiculous
Nah that's peace walker lmao
Damn! MGS2 really have lots of features and way ahead of its time.
I never knew you can fast travel from the struts using a cardboard box.
Its funny how Raiden make fun of the cardboard box and was roasted by Rose later hahahaha
*Big Boss watching Snake in a cardboard box
Big Boss:Not bad but mine is bigger
19:45 *old guy sitting in a box*
Soldier: It's the enemy!
*proceeds to pumch him four feet away*
*proceeds to punch him again*
I imagine Snake’s psych meter went down because of you.
Hitting quiet with the box delivery just made me burst with laughter I can't believe I've never thought of doing that.
Sorry I’m two months late right now but look
“A metal bucket used for cleaning bathrooms... *its use is unknown”*
We'll never know its true purpose...
All these shenanigans with the cardboard box makes me wonder if Big Boss was a hobo before he went into FOXHOUND lol
Solid Snake in Metal Gear 2: _"I can break the laws of physics and contort myself into a bucket despite being a grown ass man"_
Solid Snake in MGS4: _"Noooo I need my nanomachines and my iPod"_
I mean, his body did age rapidly
30:00 to the end of MGS peacewalker
Omfg amazing
MGS*
You forgot the codec call with Kevin where they talk about the advantages of the medical cardboard box and how Snake would have loved it if he was alive
Sad
23:13 How does an oil drum knock over a war machine like a Metal Gear Gekko
Barrels are weapons that can surpass metal gear
>Be box
>Hear Snake say "Dont think of it as just another box. Treat it with love... Dont be rough."
>Blush.exe
13:32 bruh i can’t this whole section of snake ranting how much he loves that box
As a man that has been in a box, used the box, and walked in the box, I can confirm that the box is the best thing you could ever get in your life
A box is never disappointing XD.
Box?.... BOX??... BOOOOXXX!!!!
Ah Box, I see you acquired a Snake.
12:10 Oh yeah, Todd Mcfarlane creator of Spawn has a figure company where he made the first Metal Gear Solid action figures.
And those MGS figures / dolls are very good ! Splendid !
25:43
Box time!
30:00
I like how snake gets excited by the tank box
So a cardboard box could be tactically useful in some irl situations if used in proper environments, knowledge about the enemy tactical preparation and such.
Would be my last resort tbh.
A Box is First Resort. You respect the box. Or I’ll put you into a cardboard box.
@@dankcatsmemes9219 please forgive me my Lord for I have sinned.
