Hi Dave , I usually do the Cleveland Way every year , some years I fail especially if its too hot . Its a tough walk .I reckon the coast stretch is harder mainly because of the many 1 in 3 s up all the steps .You looked well done in following your big day from the camp at Slapwith where the mbikes go ( I ll use that spot myself ) to as far as Sandsend near Whitby . Thanks for a truthful account how you felt the following day .One big killer on this walk is a heavy pack which is why I now only do it ultra light carrying the least possible using a Durstan X mid 1 pro dyneema version which weighs only 500 grms.I don t carry cooking gear as its certainly not needed on the coast stretch and the two days across the moors to Osmotherly can be broken at Lordstones Cafe half a mile off the route .I prefer the coast stretch because I m very interested in the birdlife whic is just about absent across the moors because the owners have shot everything possible which interferes with the Red Grouse shoot .I find it a sad place devoid of wildlife

Ahh nice one for watching. Its been a while since I thought about my Cleveland Way hike. This was my first ever multi day hike so I was still learning about gear then. Bag must of been 17kg with food and water. That doesn't bother me tbh i can carry the weight, its just annoying so now I have my kit down to around 10kg.

@@NorthernOutdoorsDave 16kgs is totally impossible for me on a multi day walk .I could manage it on a one day ascent and down .

While you re at Filey you missed the best 800 yard walk on the East coast down to the end of Filey Brigg .Also best fish and chips at CJs , far better than any in Whitby
