- Yo! It's been forever since I uploaded, but I've got the mods, I just need to find the time to fit them all. I thought I'd start with the easiest one, and this is VERY EASY to install. I always wanted an automatic boot. Now to get my full honest review, as there has been some issues since fitting them, watch the WHOLE video! Catch you all next time (1-2 weeks)!

I've now returned these, as they didn't work for my car.
I know I'm a bit late. But the one's they sent you are wrong. They sent me out the same ones with springs showing and they are short about 25mm. The ones I have now from ES look like stock. They are still not brilliant at opening though. Only good if it's been opened a few times. I would not recommend ES. Customer service was also lacking.

@@yigitacikgoz38 no I don't and I'm still looking as the Emerald struts are garbage. I would not recommend.

Pretty sure you can also use the boot struts from the older vw passat as I fitted them to my 5f cupra 290 and it's been 1 year and still popping open, only issue is when it snowed or we get extreme cold temps other then that they work fine and only cost £20-£30

hey dude, i had these installed in my ford fiesta. Because of the extra tention/force it is possible that the sheet metal will break/ crack. Like it did at my fiesta. I had to replace my trunk lid. I recommend everyone in keeping their stock ones...
Hi mate - thanks for this. Whilst I'm annoyed they don't work anymore, and I'm returning them. I've had no issues regarding cracks, or anything breaking. They just aren't powerful enough to consistently open the boot automatically. I've put the OEM ones back on!
@@S3Ranj thats a good decision. the cracks beginned after a year of using them.
This is exactly why I didn't bother with these, too many people on the A3 fb group saying it's damaged their boot, stopped working and one person even said it smashed the rear window.
Personally, I've had none of the those issues, as unfortunately, they broke within a couple of hours of fitting them. Which is ashame, as the idea of so good.

The problem with emarald struts is it is very hard to close the boot and had to again replace it with OEM struts which are softer to close.

@@S3Ranj just received mine , installed in 5 min and they work , the issue is that are very stiff when you close it which I believe if they weren’t they couldn’t open the boot , you need some muscles to close them , but rest , they open fine, let’s see if the my wife can close it 😬 , cheers
