Just a warning to everyone, Iv had these for around a year , I recently cleaned my car and noticed a dent in boot lid. Near vw badge, thought someone had nudged me. Had my local dent guy out and he advised me that beetle and scirocco boot lids aren’t reinforced around the vw badge, and so, where I was putting extra force on boot lid to shut it I was causing the boot to dent over time. He even asked if I was left handed as the left side was worse . I really like the struts as very handy so I now pull the lid down with the inner lid hand holes and close by pressing down on the glass .
Alex this looks great! Been looking for a proper tutorial for these struts for my scirocco, and this was the perfect video. Gonna grab some of these for mine now. Also, I changed my rear lights to LEDs, not the same ones as yours but they still look great, your video helped a lot for that too. Loving the content, keep it up bro
Thank you very much bud! I'm really glad that people are enjoying it 😀 Yeah don't forget to use the code as well bud to get yourself 10% OFF 😉 Thank you for your support bud.
Unfortunately I haven't got the car anymore. But after 6 month it was OK. Now it's important to follow instructions and also to make sure that your bump stops are recent and powerful enough
Hi Alex I’ve just fitted a set of these to my 2011 scirocco 2.0 tdi diesel blue motion all work ok by using the ball joint’s that came with the kit how ever my boot seems to not sit level with the rear lights the bump stops are all the wound down but my boot doesn’t always close probably have done anything wrong as I followed your video from start to finish or would need to use my original bolts ?
@@AlexTheGrumpyOne Yh mine I’ve pushed inwards not out but the boot still don’t line up with both lights would I need to adjust the main boot lock latch
Oh sorry bud. The spring is attached to the end that is on the boot fixing side. It doesn't go up and down. It is fixed on the attachment to the ball joint
thank you for this video, I was checking some forums and apparently these kind of struts can put a lot of strain on the frame or the strut attachment overtime giving a misaligned boot lid in some cars. Do you think it would apply to the scirocco too? (as the boot lid it's smaller and not really sitting next to the bumper)
No problems 😀 So far I haven't heard about anyone with Scirocco having that issue. I suppose thats why it's important to adjust the bump stops as well.
Just ordered a set but yet to receive anytime of conformation email from emerald struts but they’ve taken my payment is this normal for anyone else who brought these or have I been screwed?? 😂😂

Sounds good. Share some pictures on my group if you can 😀
How are these holding up after a while of use? I'm hearing some mixed reviews of damaged / bent boots and misalignment issues happening overtime.
Unfortunately I haven't got the car anymore. But after 6 month it was OK.

I would definitely have a look at that. Was it aligned properly before?

Yep thats not a problem.
From.where can we order ? Do you send to Cyprus?
Link is in my description bud.
How does the spring stay in place is it glued or?
It just slides on the strut
@@AlexTheGrumpyOne the actual spring itself- most companies it goes up and down- is it glued to the strut or?
Oh sorry bud. The spring is attached to the end that is on the boot fixing side. It doesn't go up and down. It is fixed on the attachment to the ball joint
