Excellent - just ordered a set! Arrived October 11th and installed this morning (October 12th). Works a treat, but it is certainly more difficult to close the hatch than before (as would be expected of course, but 8 stone weaklings might complain!)
Thanks Adam. Was always jealous that some SUV had the ability to open the trunk after unlocking. After seeing that my Focus hydralic lift was starting to fail, I was looking for a cool, aftermarket replacement. These look definitely 100 percent than the stock OEM ones that I was planning on replacing them with
Quality video as always. I have seen stories of mounting points that over time get damaged by these struts, but those must be early versions or diy improvised look-a-likes. Nothing but quality products for the RS so will order them for my ST soon 😁
Steeda was supposed to come out with a set like these. I wish they continued looking to source materials as they were planning to sell it on all of Ford's line up. oh well. Nice stuff.
I have these fitted to my Ford Focus 2017. I find them very hard and heavy to close the boot. Is this the norm for this feature ? The Ford struts are loads easier to close the boot.
Awesome vid M8 😁 So you had them fitted for some time now, are you still liking them? I see one comment regarding water coming in when power washing 🙈😁
@ appreciate the honest response , just bought some. I saw some comments about people boot hinges etc being damaged by I trust your experience and assume they had incorrect assembly
@@AdamRainey Got them today, mate even the Mrs was impressed! It's certainly a bit harder to shut, but not as bad as so many people online has said lol. 10/10 upgrade
Hi Ricardo, in the EU models there should be an air compressor and bottle of goo to connect to it in lieu of a spare wheel/tyre and then if the car has the audio upgrade option there is a subwoofer. I think that is it (can't remember exactly!) The models in the USA region have a discrete amp for the audio setup in there as well
Hi Adam, great video mate. How concerned are you about these busting the boot mounts? I've heard conflicting accounts that's preventing me taking the plunge.
@@ThomMurphy its automatic so wouldnt need tp worry about how heavy it is haha i know this one in the video is heavy to close tho i guess you mean the struts in the video.
@@NG83UBT I mean the automatic struts add a lot of weight to the vehicle in comparison to those from the video or OEM. I was not referring to the difficulty or closing.

Fitted mine this afternoon. Pretty cool opening. Didnt realise you got a gym workout closing the boot now but its not too bad. Easy fit.
Just fitted mine, thought I'd done something wrong. Its really stiff. Hopefully it'll get a bit easier with use

This is my worry, any issues with the mounting points? Thanks
@@DominicMFonte nothing yet, still a very happy customer

Great job Adam as always 👏
Thanks again Lee :)
Nice 1 Adam got mine about 2 months ago the boot is very heavy 2 close but I love walking back 2 my car & just popping the boot open so cool 😎
The coolness outweighs the added weight 😎

Those electrics are great, on my Mondeo MK5 this came standard
oh nice one Davy
they look good and work well
Cheers Alex :)
I just installed mine. They appear to be very nice quality. Closing the trunk lid was much more difficult than I anticipated though...
That is to be expected, it eases a little with time
Great video, looks easy to install. Do they do them for focus st estate?

Cool man. Can you measure the springs? How tall and wide for me cheers pal.
Installed a pair of these a few months ago. They are a bit stiff for a while, but soon loosen off. Great product. Nice install vid. 👍🏼
How Do you make this slow soft move in the end of the opening?
Are you asking about videography technique or asking about the product functionality?
@@AdamRaineyasking about the slow move in the end of the opening movement of the struts- my oem Lexus struts are opening pretty harsh
Already got em m8 still thanks for a great video 👍
Nice one!
The problem with emarald struts is it is very hard to close the boot and had to again replace it with OEM struts which are softer to close.
My wife has no issue in closing the boot. So you are saying you are a bit weak?
shots fired
Do these struts work for a Pre Facelift Mark 3 Ford Focus?
Very likely
Awesome vid M8 😁
So you had them fitted for some time now, are you still liking them? I see one comment regarding water coming in when power washing 🙈😁
Please measure how long is the red spring.
How long does it take for the closing to ease? My lass wont be happy with how tough it is to close.
Nice I like that I will be getting some 💪🏿👏🏿👍
Right on Clifton :)
Wonder if you can buy similar springs and apply to OEM and have the same affect?
Maybe but the cost and difficulty would probably make it not worth the hassle
How are these holding up Adam? Looking to get some for my MK3.5.
Mine are perfect still. I have had no issues and feel that they have been an excellent upgrade :)

Hello, I am not really concerned at all, they look to be absolutely fine so far and I hadn't even heard of any issues until after this video went live
Thanks man, I'll get some too. keep up the good work brother
I had water leaking after washing my car with my pressure washer with these struts. Just keep an eye out on them.
2 years later, how did it hold up? any issues? Any issues with mounting brackets?
Look as good and work as well as day one, zero issues whatsoever
@@AdamRainey awesome thanks
Hello mate, I want to ask does those work still today? Bc I want to buy it.
Yes they still work perfectly. Any issues people have ever complained about, I think is down to poor installation
How are the springs mounted? Do they slide up and down?
They are fixed, no slidey-slidey
Will there’s work on a Ford focus zetec
I believe so Chelsea :)
Will it work onnhoods
