    Thank you. First video I've watched that does NOT consider heat as a reactant or a product, but rather in terms of whether it goes through its endo/exothermic rxn to compensate for the extra temp.

    1:05 Shouldn't the exothermic reaction occur when the temperature increases, since exothermic releases heat and decreases the temperature? (vice versa)

    • @anushkav9333
      @anushkav9333 3 роки тому +5

      Temperature increases means that the system is taking in heat not giving out so it will be endothermic

    Indication in the balanced equation that HEAT is a reactant or a PRODUCT would be helpful. E.g. 2NO2 N2O4 + HEAT. This basically becomes an addition or removal of heat when temperature is changed.

    Sorry, I didn´t undersand the last part (what you said about the catalyst). Can you explain me that again? please! or someone else. Thanks.

    • @chajang7292
      @chajang7292 7 років тому +2

      It means that a catalyst will only speed up both the forward and reverse reactions, but will not affect the equilibrium of the reaction. Because equilibrium is disturbed when reactant or product is individually disturbed. A catalyst only speeds up and doesn't add any extra energy on either side (reactant or product).
