OMG, thanks sooo much... you are better than my chemistry teacher, She couldn't teach me electrolysis in two years while you sir taught it to me in just 5 minutes!
i too agree bro... sir walter was very true when he said... "if you don't like physics then probably you have learned it from a wrong teacher" same thing implies on chemistry too😊😊
Excellent!! I remember finding electrolysis SO hard to understand at school, and then when watching and uploading this video, I finally understood it myself - just 10 years too late for me! (I'm not the Chemistry teacher!)
Thank you so much. This was so helpful. My chemistry teacher kind of rushed over the beginning of electrochemistry and electrolysis so when he moved on I was still confused about the structure of the beaker and power supply and why the ions flowed the way they did. This video connected all the dots for me.
Hello! I am a Chemistry teacher and I was looking for interesting videos to show to my lecture group next week. I know FuseSchool channel is one of the best out there! For this particular video, I noticed a tiny error at around 2:14 min. The battery is placed the wrong way around with respect to the movement of electrons. (Same animation mistake at 5th minute) The battery is correct at 3:30min though. :-) Thanks again for a great video!
I would just like to say: thank you SO much for this video! Before this, I kind of got the idea of electrolysis, but it seemed so complicated to me. The textbook confused me, but with this video, it just clicked inside my head!! You explain it so clearly. Once again, a massive thank you!
This saved me .I wasn't able to understand the concept for a while but this was simple to follow and not too long which meant it won't start to get boring.thankyou so much
Fuse school is absolutely the best...I could understand things in few minutes which I've been struggling to learn for past few years..this is sooo helpful ..thanks❤️
I have to confess that I was having problems understanding the chapter electrolysis of my book. And then I searched for the topic on youtube and got this video. This video has made me so clear about the topic
Thank you! Right now I am sitting home with a broken leg, and I tried to learn by myself from the manual, but I didn't understand a thing. Now I know, thank you 👍❤
Thank you. Great video. Please note "current is the movement of charge". Perhaps consider the equations: and the relationship a charge has to an electric field as a mass to an acceleration field (both equations have the same form and were created by Albert Einstein see the charge - distance, and the mass - distance business. 'Charge' does not exist just like mass does not exist. Charge is introduced to an electric field and a force V is caused or appears somehow. Just as mass is introduced to an acceleration field and force F is caused or appears somehow. Electrical force and mechanical force are the only things we can sense or perceive they exist. Otherwise mass has no effect and charfe has no effect and we will never know they were there - hence their 'non existence'. Electrons exist. These little ( - ) charged particles flow as they are FORCED to flow by the charge/ electric field product; force (V). Electrons are particles from the mass/acceleration field business. Very good video thank you.
oh, so it isn't just me! I find this topic at school confusing as it is but this made me even more confused :-) Thanks for commenting. I am so relieved.
well i guess it's just a mistake, we should just consider the positive terminal and the negative as positive terminal. the video is very helpful despite that.
This was perfect! I have a much better understanding of electrolysis. Online work has been hard and without an actual teacher I've been struggling. definitely subscribing!
You saved me . I am very poor at chemistry and this chapter was strange coz that was my 1st time knowing such things as i am in G-8 . I understood the concept. Thx for dat .
GOD BLESS FUSE SCHOOL. I'm sorry but I don't really like my teacher because of certain disputes and I do all the learning by myself. This has helped me a whole bunch and I'd love to thank the team at fuse school like srsly you guys are putting out amazing content.
great video but you made a mistake at 2:16 when you stated that the left electrode is positively charged and the left negatively. It was supposed to be vice versa due to the left electrode being connected to the negative terminal and the right electrode being connected to the positive terminal. Also, I'm pretty sure electrons move the opposite way of current as current flows from positive to negative while electrons flow towards positive.
This actually really helped me. Im bad in chemistry and never understood electrolysis till now. The example was amazing btw easier for most people to understand through examples
This Channel is best for explaining Science Concepts , I understand concepts very easily because of these videos which help me a lot i am the topper of my class Thanks A lot Fuse School - Global Education 😀😀😄😊😊🙂🙂🤗
The term electrolysis was introduced by michael Faraday in the 19 the century .the word electrolysis is a combination of two terms ' electron ' and ' lysis ' . Electron is related to electricity and lysis means decomposition Your teaching are so nice sir
I think in the animation at 2:21 the cell should have been placed in reverse manner, because in the wires the electrons move from negative terminal to positive terminal whereas in a battery they should move from positive terminal to negative terminal, that means you have given the wrong depiction
OMG, thanks sooo much... you are better than my chemistry teacher, She couldn't teach me electrolysis in two years while you sir taught it to me in just 5 minutes!
Correction 5 minutes AND 10 seconds! HAH!!!!!
Muja lak I agree
there's no point blaming your teacher for you not understanding something
same thing with me also muja lak
i too agree bro...
sir walter was very true when he said...
"if you don't like physics then probably you have learned it from a wrong teacher"
same thing implies on chemistry too😊😊
You've just saved my chemistry GCSE. I haven't been able to understand this all year and I finally understand it the day before my exam 😅
Tara Beth how did it go?
Hope u did well X xxx
Same here 1 year later
Shihab legend has it she didn't show up for the exam
Should be grateful you understood it before the exama not after lol
I am a teacher, and you are a very good teacher teacher.
Thank you - it is great to hear positive feedback from other teachers.
all a school needs a good amount of simplicity and in my opinion kids will love it a lot more
U sound like a kid
Much easily to understand..

3 years of not understanding electrolysis at school and it's stuck in my head from a 5 minute video!!! Thanks! :)

Hahaha 10 years are a lot mate!
lol, same here but not 3 years, more like 1 month.
Same, morning of my mock😂
a quick lesson that retains in my memory. well done
I've my chemistry exam tommorow and the way you explained it was incredible, I'm definitely passing my exam tomorrow!! thank youuu
Hope it went well 🙂

Thank you for spotting that - you are completely correct. Thanks.
Mrs Angela Tie i
The anode is also mistaken for the positive side and vice versa at 4:43
Good eye, but note: at the fifth minute they are correct it's just at 2:14 that they enlarged the white + and - sign wrong
Omg thanks I was like??? When I saw that. It’s hard to forget that everything online (no matter how professional looking) must be fact checked

Aren't the circuit markings at 2:16 reversed? Shouldn't the small vertical dash mark be towards the negative side and not the positive side?
Yes!! I was looking for someone to comment on this
oh, so it isn't just me! I find this topic at school confusing as it is but this made me even more confused :-) Thanks for commenting. I am so relieved.

POSITIVE ARE CALLED ANODES AND NEGATIVE CATIONS
PANIC===
( P ) ositive
( A ) node
( N ) egative
( I ) s
( C )cation
i thought i was the only one who heard that wrong
Thats wrong
Positive are cathode and negative are anode
