It felt so cringe. The deck should of died last year but it’s still the best deck in the game. Yubel is nice but 1 super poly and the field is done for. Same with Snake eyes you use a DD Crow or a called by the grave and half their end board is ruined. The way tear cards work the deck should just be banned all together it’s not healthy for cards to mill/draw so many cards in a deck while having Fairy Tail snow and Ishizu cards to screw everything you have up. Congratulation for the world, you made us dream with your tear gamplay, thank you for the masterclass lesson one more time.
My deck of choice this format is Melodious. Can play through most hand traps, can play a huge amount of hand traps uncluding orange and Dominus Purge and it has variations of end boards for different matchups. Dark ruler is the only scary board breaker and most decks can't really kill through 2 floaters that summons untargetable and undestroyable monsters.
I feel like everyone is forgetting this deck. It was keeping up pretty well despite low representation with the other top decks before the fiendsmith stuff came out. Now that the other decks were hit and Melodious wasn’t really, I think it’s a strong pick.
It definitely is a very strong pick, went 5-0 at my locals on saturday with it winning the world championship envelope, and I would say the deck plays through hand traps and sets up a board like nothing. (ARIA IS CRAZY) most decks can’t get over it without drawing droplets or forcing themself to make bad plays just to get over it first.

I think its biggest weakness is actually in deckbuilding, saying as each engine has its share of 1-ofs which eat a lot of nonengine spots
White forest is most hurt by Skill Drain to 1. Chimera is my pet deck so I may be biased but it feels pretty well-positioned, never loses to breakers or nibiru, accesses the fiendsmith engine without moon.
Gimmick puppet is an interesting deck, I picked it up and tried it, the FTK is insanely fragile, if it just gets breathed on by any hand trap. But the deck inherently draws like 3 cards and sets a decent trap, it is okay.
Yo jesse, that deck you was playing was so crazy i really wish i could deck build like you man. That was probably the most creative deck i ever seen. Congratulations...you really are one of the best yugioh players ever.

@Mckudenomg Well, at least he played Fire Kings, but abandoning his pet Deck for the same old thing as everyone else is certainly one way to catch opponents off-guard...it must tear him up inside that set 5 and pass isn't viable anymore because it's outclassed by literally everything except when turn skip cards are played, and he (correctly) advocated for King Calamity to go when his existence in the game was helping to make set and pass remain an actual playstyle in the game in 2024 when we've otherwise evolved far past that.
Gimmick Puppet is still really good. The banlist didnt hit the deck enough to make it rogue. People who say the deck is dead really have bias against its strategy
Congrats bro 💪🏿🖤💯 amazing gameplay with tear i picked up it up a few days before the championships and was suprised to see someone not only play it but dominate like you did
Something else you need to consider is Tearlament because you can play the Fiendsmith engine and play cards for Phantom of Yubel. I play 2 Fenrir, 2 Felis, 2 Weiss, 2 Charge, 1 Needlebug Nest, and 1 Transaction Rollback in addition to a 3rd Felis in the side deck. I play a 43 card version of the deck and I'm almost never disappointed with my mills because most of my turn 1s I mill 15-25 cards.
With regards to ritual beasts weve got gaia thats an in engine omni thats not a hopt or per chain and can be made pretty reliably since the best spot to make it is just before the spot were nib gets the most value + even if we get nibbed as long as nochidrago, the new fusion, is held for post nib we can still play.
Someone gotta mention this, traptrix have access to turn 1 protos shutting down yubel and snake eyes even if they open board breakers by searching protos off of nemeses who is searched off of banshee. The ragnaraika link-3 banishes to search which makes nemeses and any traptrix with 2 extenders(holetea, bardiche, parallel exceed) is doing it through nibiru.
Plants are better than you think. A. you don't have to play 60, and honestly shouldn't since you can play through most handtraps turn 1, and turn 2 a skilled player can break uninterrupted se and yubel boards (albeit you need to have a good hand, usually with the field spell and ways to trigger it). It also sets up a near unbreakable board going 1st, and it's tenpai matchup is free because the fusion protects destruction by card effects (stop the board breakers) and you can dodge the field making monsters unaffected by tributing them for cost with the field and princess. However, it does take a lot of skill to play, and it's non-engine is kind of hard to decide on (anti-handtrap engine for droll/nib, or board breakers). Additionally, you can play shifter in the side, and while it does hurt your deck it weakens the top decks even more, allowing you to set up a decent board turn 2.
Plants and Ritual Beast are decks he seems not to like. Both are pretty competitive rn, I put them above in the list. Their main problem is that not everyone can play them well enough.
As a floo player myself you are absolutely right! I play a going second build and it destroys…destroys boards. Ultimate Slayer to get rid of negates, SC Soul exchange double Kaiju a board to summon Empen, evenly, duster, it’s amazing. But imperm and Veiler are our worst enemies if we don’t have advent or cowrie in hand.
I’m really surprised you didn’t comment on Vaalmonica here. Maybe it’s due to its relatively large engine size, very fair end boards, and the potential to be stopped by hand traps. However after the support it receives in Rage of the Abyss it becomes one of if not THE best Fiendsmith deck having access to a Light Fiend every turn and near infinite recursion with a very amazing counter trap negate coupled with a sturdy board protection that puts Hugin to shame.
I can understand that most people find Floowanderzee boring and linear, but if you are willing to not be 100% effective you can do some cool stuff with them. I use them as a tribute engine for The Winged Dragon of Ra whose continous spell searcher also helps protect Empen. Also, Empen summoning Sphere Mode on the opponent's turn is absolutely hysterical of a play. You should try it out some time, you will have fun with it, trust me.
id probably put Gimmick Puppet in rouge, it can still do the FTK, but you have to have the field spell, it losses to some specific HTs during the combo
There's a line with Little Soldiers or Scissor Arms that FTKs if you have Metaltronus in hand as a line with Soldiers AND Rouge Doll that leaves them at 100 while setting up the trap, follow up, and a pop and burn on special summon (so can close the game during their turn). I'd say it's more fragile but still mid tier 2 or rouge imo.
With people more knowledgeable about decks here. I was wondering people's opinion on Drytron. It's a deck I've invested in but I never get enough feedback on how to improve or if it's viable in a more competitive scene. So I'm hoping to hear people's opinions on it.
Yeah Centurion is only decent until we get Primera Primus. Which if I'm not mistaken allows Synchro Rumble to special summon it from grave allowing you to play through Nibiru and make a 2nd Crimson Dragon and lv.12 Centurion monster to go into Quasar and keep flooding the field with monster, spell/trap, and monster/spell/trap negates. Bystials if played correctly are incredible in this deck because not only does it give you access to Dis Pater and Chaos Angel but it turns Druiswurm into 2 interruptions (1 or 2 you use immediately or you can make Dis Pater and wait to use your 2nd one.). This also gives you the ability to hand loop with Omega.
I feel like the well positioned decks can 1 new card that makes them slightly better and the less well positioned decks can receive 2 bee cards to help them along while I think Rouge decks need 3 or more cards to help boost them up a tier and keep them on the map do there's more diversity of decks within the game
This might be completely biased but I loki think that lady of laments is Loki meta, I've beat countless meta decks with just Lilith running the show, plus nowadays u can run labyrinth with it and it just eats, also rollback makes the deck next tier, and there's so many ways to search out Lilith nowadays it honestly guarantees you'll have her in ur opening hand meaning if they dont stop the search they lose and theres ways to stop there negate with this deck, this decks just so much fun
Gimmick puppet less go (also scissor arms sucks play Horus) the deck can still ftk but I suppose it’s weakness is lack of an end board if you can’t ftk as rougedoll locks into puppet xyz. With the Horus engine the deck can make lord or harvenger before committing to the puppet plays. All in all upper in rogue seems fine as it plays many board breaks to help it going second
Great tier list, thank you very much! I‘d love the staples tier list next as I never know which ones to play in my Main and which ones to play in my Side.
Aside from the interaction between noir and phantom, I think purrely has a very favorable match up against yubel. As someone who has played this match up on numerous occasions I fondly it very difficult to deal with noir bottom decking cards because a lot of your best effects come from continuous spells like nightmare pain and spirit gates, and your field spell. In addition, lotus is also not a quick effect so noir can just bottom deck you normal summon too. Yubel isn't playing anywhere near as many yubel monsters to consistently open with the material to make a phantom in their starting hand, so noir effectively being a negate that works on all of your starters (lotus, spirit gates, beckoning beast, throne, and nightmare pain) makes her significantly harder to deal with than Apollousa ever was in my opinion. Unless you're playing an excessive amount of bricks in your deck to make phantom with just your starting hand, noir will never allow you to play long enough to even get a yubel name in rotation. Against yubel noir can simply trade 1 for 1 against each of your starters and unless you opened 4 different starters and only 1 of which required your normal summon, you aren't beating noir without non-engine, not to mention the fact purrely can draw anywhere from 2-4 cards on your turn and has more than enough non-engine space to make those draws very scary.
Cent will at least benefit from ROTA due to an exceptional Synchro 8 that also makes Atrii a much more useful card. That, coupled with Maxxarmy C, might make it stronger as a board breaker build over a handtrap build. You can also supplement the engine with Horus that makes larger deck sizes viable and unlocks a plethora of other options.
Congrats on the win. I don't play Runick much, but I'd still rather ban every single floodgate backrow in the game before banning a single Runick card. I like Kash right now because everyone's ED is full of 1-ofs right now and a single Unicorn resolution can often win games by itself. Gimmick Puppet feels like going-first-Tenpai; sometimes it just randomly kills you with very little you can do about it, but most of the time it loses to a well placed interaction. I think they're worse than Tenpai in almost every way in this regard because they also have to contend with struggling to go second unlike Tenpai who's normally in their element after """losing""" the dice roll against an opponent who doesn't know what they're playing.
Hi, I would be curious to know what are your thoughts on the kashtira snake-eyes deck, since the last time it had top it was in July at the oceania wcq, thanks for everything. Congratulations for your win🎉.
My deck in this format is infernoid with fiendsmith and snake-eye as engine for noid cuz new support. I have so much fun when i just resource loop, out grind op,or just hand loop them
Jesse! I would love Abyss Actors to get the world champ examination! It feels like it has potential to be meta competitive, but I just don’t have your knowledge and experience to see what that could be. Take the stage Jesse!
Kinda supprised that chimera fiendsmith didnt get a shoutoot in the list. Im not expecting it to be a meta shaper but for sure it looks pretty strong in this format.
Congratulations. Also, I want to learn how to build and play competent decks, but I find it difficult knowing how archetypes function and how to evaluate them. Can you give me some pointers?
I’m right know playing Tenpai but when ever that new speedroid support finally comes to the tcg I’m going to be switching over to it so fast I don’t care if it will be meta or not. Speedroid is my beloved pet deck an the most fun I’ve ever had playing a deck.
Regarding Kashtira, especially going first, the Kash Mimighoul deck is flying waayyy under the radar (which is a good thing, because it's super annoying to play against). Being able to resolve Unicorn to rip going first and having the option to main deck Talents to look pick at your opponent's hand is especially devastating. It's not the best at going second like Yubel or Branded can go off and kill you, but it's definitely no slouch either. The Kashtira cards and Shifter are doing the heavy lifting there for sure though.
Hey Champ, congrats on the win. World Champions!!! Just wanted to get your honest opinion on a deck that I am currently running. Fiendsmith Chimera, I would like to know where you rank that deck and how you think it matches up to the meta !? Thanks, All the best

Congrats on the win 🎉
I think they're worse than Tenpai in almost every way in this regard because they also have to contend with struggling to go second unlike Tenpai who's normally in their element after """losing""" the dice roll against an opponent who doesn't know what they're playing.
you should show the deck profiles with each deck to go with the explanations congrats by the way Jesse well played happy for ryan yu too!
I have so much fun when i just resource loop, out grind op,or just hand loop them
Congrats on Team 7’s victory at worlds!
Highly appreciated!
Congrats on worlds dude, I was so happy for yall i got all emotional lol
Jesse! I would love Abyss Actors to get the world champ examination! It feels like it has potential to be meta competitive, but I just don’t have your knowledge and experience to see what that could be. Take the stage Jesse!
Congrats Jesse!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
I love the ranked videos!!
Kinda supprised that chimera fiendsmith didnt get a shoutoot in the list. Im not expecting it to be a meta shaper but for sure it looks pretty strong in this format.
Congratulations on your win jesse
Congrats on big W
Grass in Branded looks fun 😮
CONGRATULATIONS JESSIE!! XD
Just a question why is labrynth not on this list at all.
Probably just not worth even considering this format
congrats on the championship win jesse and your fellow teammates, i was glad i supported your team. ps thanks for the rewards im getting on MD too XD
That's a very interesting image of Snake Eyes Poplar
What do you thinkabout the magical musketeer deck
Congratulations. Also, I want to learn how to build and play competent decks, but I find it difficult knowing how archetypes function and how to evaluate them. Can you give me some pointers?
Just no wards to say, this is what peek Yu GI oh is all about, never giving up and exceeding your limits.
I’m right know playing Tenpai but when ever that new speedroid support finally comes to the tcg I’m going to be switching over to it so fast I don’t care if it will be meta or not. Speedroid is my beloved pet deck an the most fun I’ve ever had playing a deck.
Everybody sleeping on Chimera
chimera: am I a joke to you?
Dude facts I’ve gone 11-1 at my last few locals with FS Chimera
@@quickdraw5252 list ?
I love my chimera fiend smith deck
@@quickdraw5252 Can we have your list?
Regarding Kashtira, especially going first, the Kash Mimighoul deck is flying waayyy under the radar (which is a good thing, because it's super annoying to play against). Being able to resolve Unicorn to rip going first and having the option to main deck Talents to look pick at your opponent's hand is especially devastating.
It's not the best at going second like Yubel or Branded can go off and kill you, but it's definitely no slouch either. The Kashtira cards and Shifter are doing the heavy lifting there for sure though.
Thoughts on Mannadium?
Everyone seems to miss unchained even though it has more tops than millennium recently
You can combine tenpai with hieratic mine deck cards you can go first and play though hand traps
Not even a mention for Chimera 🥲
Wangu against Yubel is kinda cracked
is the code talker deck still played?
Lets go Jesseeeeee stayed up all night to root for you. Congrats on the win
Do you think sky striker has some sort of chance of doing good in a big tourneament?
Hey Champ, congrats on the win. World Champions!!!
Just wanted to get your honest opinion on a deck that I am currently running. Fiendsmith Chimera, I would like to know where you rank that deck and how you think it matches up to the meta !?
Thanks,
All the best
What do you think bout dragon link?
Earth machine/ancient gears? Where would you put them on your list sir? I thought maybe higher neutral close if not bottom lvl lesser well positioned.
