That's a great way to look at things. You like it, you buy it! 🤩 While I was looking at vehicles everyone had an opinion about the Jimny and most of them were negative, but I loved the vehicle and bought it. It works for me and I understand all the shortcomings. Congratulations on your purchase. ✌️
It’s a very good little car and I love mine. The perfect little go anywhere car. Manual Transmission makes for a very happy little car. I will keep it for a very long time, very probably till the end, provided the powers that be allow us to hang on to it. But largely it is Underrated and under appreciated. Over the last 6 years Ive seen a lot of the 3 Door Jimnys in many countries all over EU zone, ANZ, SEA, UAE and Far East (Japan etc). But Ive yet to see a 5 door anywhere outside of India so far.
Agreed! 💯 Underrated and Underappreciated are the correct words to use for the Jimny. It's the perfect offroader, small and nimble. I plan to keep it for however long I can as well. 🤞 I follow a few Jimny related subreddits and I see a lot of 5 door Jimny's (called the XL). I see the 5 door Jimny manufactured in India is being exported to a few markets.
Good short review. I also have similar observations like yours on the Jimny. I think people over think or over expect. This is a car which performs adequately on most fronts. I recently got the Grey Alpha AT and very happy with it.
Hi there, great to read your comment. Appreciate your support. Thanks ❤️ Jimny is a powerhouse and a vehicle that has a globally proven track record. I think in India we are spoiled to always expect more and compare, which isn't bad, but the expectations and the comparisons need to be valid. I am super happy with my Jimny and it always brings a smile when I drive it. It is a keeper and since I never had the chance to own a Gypsy, I think the Jimny becomes much more valuable. We have a habit of missing cars when they are no longer offered or are discontinued in India. 😅 BTW, congratulations on your purchase, I love the AT, it is very underrated.

Hi there, 👋 Thank you so much for the kind words. They mean a lot and made my day. 1K subscribers wasn't something I even dreamt of when I started, but it has been a wonderful journey. ❤️ I'll continue my travels and explore Himachal in my Jimny and then move to other parts of our incredible country, perhaps, I'll also try and visit other countries in the Jimny. I appreciate your love, support, and belief. 😊
Keep making these useful videos. They are insightful and very realistic in nature. I just took the TD of Jimny Aplha AT yesterday. The car was 5500+ on ODO with service pending. I wasn't happy with how they kept the vehicle so shall be visiting another dealer. I am eyeing Aplha AT.
Thank you so much. Appreciate your love and support. 🥰 I like to stay raw and not exaggerate things that aren't there. I'll continue to make good content and improve as I move forward. Alpha AT is a great choice. BTW, the dealer and their sales reps near me are super nice and the vehicle for my test drive was immaculate, so yes, a different dealer would be a better option.
Very well researched video and great sharing of experience. Thanks. Alpha AT is pretty good VFM anywhere under 15 lacs..People buying nowadays are getting bonkers deal.
Thanks for the encouragement. Appreciate your support. I think Suzuki is still offering discounts after the initial round of discounts last month. The Alpha is still available for 14.5-15 OTR.
Like your Frank review booked same as yours awaiting delivery. This is going to be my golf car. Unfortunately I cannot put my kit on back so will fold one back seat down to keep the tall kit. Hope to travel different cities to play golf with my Jimny. I do have an Innova that’s manual and always like the compact cute Jimny easy to park and go anywhere Also will try to explore different places around my city for waterfalls etc so Jimny will take me there difficult to think with Innova
@@anandshah71 Yes, the only way to fit the golf kit cleanly (i mean either a stand bag or a cart bag) is to put the rear seat section behind the driver, down and then position the head of the bag which houses the club heads, slightly diagonally so that this part sticks into the boot area. The foot of the bag rests on the rear passenger seat. Since the bag is diagonal as described, one can position ones fully folded 3 or 4 wheeled push trolley in between the head of the bag and the back of the driver seat. This is what I do. And it still leaves some little space for some luggage. Preferably in soft bags. In a couple of weeks Im planning a hill trip with my Jimny and my golf bag. Will see how that goes. Shall have to hang my formal jacket/ suit carrier on the rear passenger side, on the hand hold probably….
I bought Red Black duel tone Alpha AT during July 24 discount. Only thing I am bogged down with is milage, i could only get 8 to 9 km per ltr through Dehradun city traffic. I have still to ride on highways.
Congratulations on your purchase. 🎉 The mileage is a hit and miss to be honest when in the city. I'm getting 11-12 kmpl in the city. I drive sedately, mostly under 60 in the city and got 16 on the highway. If your Jimny has gone through the 2nd service and has run 5k I think the numbers will improve.
Plus it is underpower ...not a car which would help you overtake ...it is not punchy at all ...A turbo would have made a lot of difference but then again with present engine only the milage sucks 🤦
A turbo would have been nice for sure, but I don't face issues while overtaking as plan them accordingly. I hope the mileage improves after the 2nd service. 🤞
Agreed, it is very practical. The pricing should have always been around 13-14L for the top variant from the start. However, Suzuki's discounts are still valid this month if you want to give a try. You can also bargain for a bit more. 😅
After learning that the weight carrying capacity of the Jimny is even lesser than the maruti alto 800, don't u think its a minus point on it's practicality?
No doubt..jimny is not a perfect car....but the important point for its practicality are- 1)Small size making its easier to drive in narrow lane n occupy less parking space. 2) good mileage for a 4x4 vehicle 3) reliability 4) u have 4wd so u won't get stuck anywhere
I really like the Jimny and would love to buy it, but I'm a bit concerned about the comfort for our parents. How comfortable is the backseat? Currently, I’m using a Swift Dzire, and I’m wondering if the Jimny’s backseat offers the same or similar level of comfort. Space isn’t an issue for us since it’s usually just the three of us traveling together.
I can certainly understand the concerns and I won't sugarcoat the situation. The back seat on the Jimny is comfortable for short rides, but won't match the comfort of your Dzire. It lacks under thigh support and won't be a viable option for long drives, especially for your parents. I can recommend checking out the Brezza or if the budget isn't a problem, I'd suggest looking at the Grand Vitara.
Agreed 💯. You don't have to change the stock tyres just for the sake of changing them. They are provided for a reason and they are enough to handle anything. I almost upgraded mine, but I wasn't getting a good deal. Which ones did you upgrade to?
How do you find the audio system. Planning to change speakers and add subwoofer cause I am a bass fan Is there space below the back seat for a compact sub
I find the stock sound system adequate for my requirements. It comes equipped with a 4 speaker ARKAMYS system and I think the bass should be enough. However, you won't find space under the back seat. You can utilize the boot space though.
Hi, great choice. I'd say it would depend on your usage. If the drive is mostly city based I'd recommend checking the automatic. It also helps with offroading as I have less things to worry about. 😅 Have you taken the test drive of both the versions? I loved the simple automatic and thus chose the same.
@weekendsafarnama Thank you for your advice. I haven't test driven both transmissions. It's a good idea to do that, heh. At first, I leaned towards the manual, but after you have advised, I think I'll go for the automatic. Much appreciated for your help, sir.
Happy to help. ❤️ I'd still recommend test driving both the versions, but I can assure you the automatic makes life easy. The 4 speed AT on the Jimny is very capable and helps in city traffic and off roading.
I also have the same alpha automatic one, Sometimes the 4L lever is very stiff or tight when I try to go back to 4H from 4L after using 4L. I was kind of worried is there any issue in my jimny or it's common in jimnys or is there any techniques?
I don't think there's an issue. I have noticed the same. I just give the vehicle and the gearbox some time/breathing space before I shift between them.
Hi bro. A fellow Himachali here... :) I have heard that people have to keep the seat belt of the rear seats fastened inside so that they don't get to hear that annoying beeping sound. Do you keep the rear seat belts fastened or do you let the beeping sound run it's course ?
Hey bro! 👋 Glad to read your comment, thanks for stopping by. That is true, it beeps for about 2-5 minutes if not fastened and was annoying for me too. Sorry to hear that. However, vehicle issues can depend on various factors such as faulty machine, the driving style, or the condition of the roads where you drive. I could have an issue the day I buy a car or not have an issue for years. I've driven my Jimny extensively and I know people who have driven theirs for over a year with no issues at all.
