Well-spoken about the suspension. It has been godsend for my dad's bad back, and my 5ft 2in mum's arthiritic knees have not been aggravated climbing into it. We bought two of them, one for me and one for my parents. They have a farmhouse, and they live there-they live off-road.
The Jimny has a recirculating ball steering mechanism, this is much better for control during off-road driving, that's why it is slow to respond. It is this way by design. It also has dampers to reduce shocks from hitting rocks, for example. Also, the power steering type is electric. We got the best price for it in the world. Globally, it is considered very cheap for the kind of off-road hardware in there, one of the cheapest proper off-roaders on the planet with off-road hardware that is disproportionately good for what it costs. What we pay for is that offroad hardware. If we were to get other creature comforts too, it would have cost more, and it would have been less reliable in everyday bumping around on bad roads. And yet, it would have been considered very cheap for the kind of off-road hardware on it. So, actually, for the kind of off-road hardware in it, it wasn't overpriced. What is not a match is the Indian market's comprehension of what we were asked to pay for.
Jimny is a no-nonsense no-frills car that is built to last a generation. It has the basics sorted that gives reliability prime importance. Buy it, service it on regular intervals and stay headache free for 2.5 lakh kms straight (I am talking only about AT, god help what you can achieve with a MT). You throw bad roads (which we have in plenty), it just puts a smile on your face as it glides through. I am a bare-bone kinda person and this vehicle filled in all the essentials I needed on a vehicle.
I really liked your concluding point! Most of the time reviewers are acting holier than thou! In India vehicles are mostly bought for day to day use and that too as a family vehicle. And in that spectrum, in which most of the buyers, reviewers need to focus on the things that matter in a day to day basis! Reviewers have a habit of bashing CVT, but in a day a day basis - for the city runs, its the most practical choice. Why do activa sell so much? Having watched a lot of your reviews, its refreshing to see how you focus on the day to day usability of these machines and how can they take you from A to B comfortably and reliably. Thank you so much! Henceforth, I am putting yours and Gagan's opinion in the prime!
I love my Jimny but hate MARUTI SUZUKI for cheating initial customers by offering huge discount after selling many units in first 6 months at a over priced rate.I am happy that Jimny is a flop in India due to Maruti's stupid sales strategy.
Definitely a better car placed at wrong price tag ... The interior quality was dinosaur old, poor seating support are the negatives.... But in performance it is a fair 4x4 and decent city and highway car... Unfortunately it was compared with thar and totally it was pull down..... Moreover people expect 6 speed AT which suzuki was in a hurry to launch it with its usual 4 speed AT which was in the three door jimny.... Suzuki themselves have to revisit becoz of sudden discounts the person who bought on initial period needs to be justified becoz they lost the resale value too..... A refreshed jimny at a catchy price can revive their loss.... Kudos to your honest opinion by touching along with its technical part.... But check with the jimny network owners becoz 10.3 kmpl as average is little low becoz i have seen people getting 11 to 12 in city and around 14 to 15 in highway....
Fuel economy is very good with my manual because of 5th additional gear, my manual give me 16-17 . Gear ratio plays big part, and final drive ratio are big factors,
Jimny got cheap perception because of maruti's over confidence.... They say it's a life style vehicle but still skimped on basic necessities like driver seat height adjustment and suzuki connect and God that high turning radius is so irritating and takes away most of the advantage of it's small footprint.....mine is alpha auto and I am getting 15kmpl when cruising at 80kph, 18kmpl at 60kph and 13kmpl at 100kph.....suspension is beautiful... Except for highway cruising at more than 80pkh and tight turns driving it is very good esp in city and also rural roads
22000 km completed in less than 1 year with not much problem comparatively far better in hilly highways than other 4x4 vehicles suzuki need to launch jimny sierra immidaitely as a facelift
Hello Sir thanks for uploading this video Hi sir actually I am confused between citroen C3 aircross Max , Maruti jimny Alpha AT because of discounts they ware giving and I am also looking for Honda elevate v model manual and also MG astor sprint so between all these cars which is most suitable for me my driving is mostly in city 70% and I would also like to go to mountains with my family monthly running is 1500 km approx sir please suggest me which car to buy Does AT work good in mountain And should I go with aircross manual 2023 July model or AT 2024 model Budget is 13 lacs on road .
I wonder how the marketing and strategy team head of this still in company … doesn’t have any idea on value proposition and killed a product by wrong placement and pricing
Taxation bro! Blame the government. 1.5 ltr petrol do not get tax benefits despite being a sub 4m car! Also Suzuki reliability for the all grip pro is world renowned.
this is a policy of marketing, stategy of NEXA business for excel in sell for useless/unpractical product in the the market. If the product is good and genuine, no need of such large scale add in the market.

What a great story. Happy Motoring to your parents.

But for the lifestyle owner, the steering is heavy for city use.
@@SHIFTINGGEARScom I agree with you here. My Ecosport steering is easier. PS: I edited my comment above by the time you replied.
True that!

The Jimny has a customisable dashboard with attachment points on the dash, all passenger doors, and on the boot sidewalls as well as boot floor.
I'm driving jimny for last one year.......... Best car 🚘

That is why you should never buy vehicle just when it's launched. Wait a year or two so that any issues are sorted out.

Stearing response will always like that keeping in mind that any rear wheel drive vehicle tands to understear, and frontwheel will overstear.
Its a machine last for ever. I am not a susuki fan but love this machine ❤

Yes. If you have Jimny, stick to the 195s

We need Jimny facelift❤
Everything is ok except the price. Buy one in used car market

Please elaborate, we wouldn't assume.
With Thar Roxx i am thinking what jimmy will do 😅
Well at the prices Mahindra is asking for the Roxx 4x4 you can get two Jimnys.
Thar Roxx won't perform off road as good as Jimny

For most people actually. This car is a rubbish offering for its price.
Obsessed off roader must buy auto. Occasional off roader should buy manual
Thane City is mumbai Suburb . Someone definitely failed in geography. Half the mumbaikars died after hearing you 😂
