he is using c-pen but style is totally j-pen standard!!!he is one of my best penholder heroes!!!especially for amateur penhold player... he is best standard i think.....he is really all-round style... not only forehand topspin....backhand skill is also awesome !!! so i love his style~
Yoshida Kaii is a Japanese player of Chinese origin, he born in China and got training in China until the age of 17. He uses c-pen grip. Although he only uses one side of his racket, it doesn't mean his style is j-pen style.
@@junstabletennisclub7226 so someone playing RPB with j-pen blade means c-pen style? We have RPB vs TPB to describe those style difference, and j-pen vs c-pen to differentiate the blades. Why add unnecessary confusions? Before the 90s, Chinese players played exclusively TPB for decades. Were they playing j-pen?
J-pen is a rectangular racket as opposed to Chinese round, like the one used by Liu Guoliang. Ryu Seung Min of South Korea was one of the greatest practitioners of a J-pen blade. Yoshida Kaii stays closer to the table and has pretty quick hands. Ryu played further back and got a lot with his forehand which was like Xu Xin's.
No-one moved as good as Ryu seung min though! But Kaii Yoshida had great footwork in his time, and maybe the best traditional penhold backhand loop of all time far away from the table!
Imagine how much work he has to put in, immigrated to Japan, and speak fluent Japanese, became a pro and played all over the world, and stayed true to J-Pen style play and TPB.
I love this shot and find it relatively easy to do. you can pick whether you want to come more under the ball giving chopping / backspin type motion. or come around the side of the ball more which has this pure sidespin or side/top motion that can be tricky for players to handle. It's a great weapon I think a lot of people raised on TPB will find easy to do since it's very similar.
Penhold style has inherent disadvantages in backhand, compared to shakehand. Yoshida Kaii somehow compensates the disadvantages by control, footwork and power. He is already awesome, although still far away from world top-class players.
You can only compensate so much, and still lags far behind top players. It's somewhat fun to watch due to its rarity, but one rubber only players are capped to begin with and will retire early too.
Ong Narukami Sorry, that is a mistake. . . The Japanese does not act like acting, but foreigners often do such things, so I thought that these two Japanese are imitating foreigners.
Japanese but a cpen player, that is very interesting. He is a classic or traditional cpen player, no wonder his style is fast attack, and he uses all kind of shots. I like him a lot, because his style is almost the same as mine. I've just ordered a Butterfly blade with his name to honour him, just like I do to honour Ma Lin and JO Waldner 😅
Rice MenaRQ Yeah yeah yeah.....Yoo nam kyu and Ryu seung min definitely not won the gold medal at the Olympic Games. They are all suck with single rubber, right?
The beauty of the clasic penhold style is gold..

damn I like him. and his attitude.
The guy he played with at first looks like he is already a fan of Yoshida Kai.

Yoshida is very good at C-Pen and I wonder why he is not in Japan National team!

He was! Do your research first

さすがです。
This is j pen style blade. Just one rubber.
Ryu seung min of Korea ... He is last Olympic winner of j pen style in 2004 Athene
He is not j-pen holder, he is c-pen
His uniform is similar to that when he belonged to NISSAN
(At 6:38), Yoshida used 3 FH Strawberry against Ma Long, very effective because ML can't outright attack on that.

yoshida using traditional jpen hold blade or chinise pen hold blade?

He was in the top 100 at his peak, so he’s definitely not that far.
He was World number 31 at his peak.
Do a video of toshio tasaki Cpen short pips penholder from the late 90s early 2000s. Love your channel. Keep up the good work
Already did, please enjoy, here is Tasaki 田崎 Toshio Special , ua-cam.com/video/bR1fEqQ5HuA/v-deo.html
C pen not jpen.
There is a lot more fun to watch this style of play than the main stream style.
每打完一球都要做動作慶祝,這是?
This is pro match, so every shot related to you eat steak or just rice at dinner

He was from China team anyway, then immigrated Japan due to high ranking
No RPB = Destined to lose
Rice MenaRQ just like ryu seung min... really a total loser
Rice MenaRQ You need to learn to fly with japanese penhold
Rice MenaRQ Yeah yeah yeah.....Yoo nam kyu and Ryu seung min definitely not won the gold medal at the Olympic Games. They are all suck with single rubber, right?
