    This is far the most complete 3/4-axis slider I've seen. Many pan and tilt heads suffer from parallax effects because of horrible design choices, this gives a nice option to center your camera and minimize this effect. And the option to use your hands and set the in/out points is sooo smart! :D Great review, cheers!

    We have the full slider pro bundle. Our needs were photographing car interiors in video. So far the system does an excellent job. Using a Canon 5D for test the results look beautiful. The next step, waiting for our Zcam E2S6 using CP Zeiss lenses. Going to be a great year 2020. We found a reasonable tripod that starts out very low and extends to about 5 feet high. Need to be mindful of balance, and always have the legs set to carry the extension left/right.

    I really like this system for the studio. The rolling dolly is just crazy. The focus motor can be used on the zoom ring too. For remote landscape work, I prefer the Syrp system. It's Genie 2 is much smaller and lighter for a backpack with the ability to have a longer slider. Still, the Edelkrone system is more comprehensive. Great for studio and even remote use. Plus look at the whole system, very flexible. If you primarily do remote landscape and weight is a concern, there are smaller systems.

      For Studio the Rhino Arc 2 looks awesome. You don't need a smart phone and you can use large gear. For pure mobility, the Syrp was built for it. Edelkrone splits the two and personally I think the slider is the weakest link, but the dollies look great.

    I went with a kessler system that is a bit more heavy duty, but it's such a pain in the ass to use because of the weight. If you're a running gunning person, I think Edelkrone is a bit better. If you have a team to manage equipment, Kessler is okay but seems like it needs updating as well. Patrick - how come you didn't use the focus rig?

    • @FStoppers

      Syrp slider generation 1 are terrible. The pan and tilt units have 4-5 degrees of play in the gears... App is rarely updated and lacks many basic features. Always loses connections and doesn't't always work. Generation 2 is better but the pan/tilt head has terrible parallax (the unwanted kind) for tilt axis... Better off with the nice ifootage shark mini slider for a better price or go edelkrone

    • @FStoppers

      It will have motion blur but because my shutter was only 5 seconds, the blur is very small especially with a wide angle lens. If you want perfectly crisp images, you need to use the timelapse function which will allow the Head unit to fire your camera every time it stops and then it will continue to move and then take another steady shot. -P

GVM makes equipment that does pretty much the same movements, except for tilts, but for only 400 CAD.................I bought one of Edelkrone's first sliders, cost me a fortune and I could never get a smooth pull or push, especially when trying to use the complete length of the slider.....once it hit the center point, I would always get some shudder in my footage......

    • @videolad3057
      @videolad3057 4 роки тому

      LOL, I use the GVM for a B-cam in interviews and it's great for motorized slides. The manual 'panning' option is hit and miss and takes a lot of trial and error in practise, although it gives good results when eventually set. I also own the sliderONE v2 and 2 headONE's. The 2 systems aren't even comparable. The edelkrone is absolutely incredible, it takes 30 seconds to setup initially, and all changes after that are instant. There is no messing around with a 'panning rod', no constant adjustments to keep my subject centred, no having to have 2 tripods perfectly level at each end. Every single movement is repeatable 1000 times, making VFX a dream. It really does allow the only limit to your shots your imagination. It's a case of getting what you pay for. The GVM is great for what it is, but the edelkrone is lightyears ahead of it in both options, ease of use and quality,

      Mostly for the head though. You can replace that head with two of the HeadONE Modules and a tilt mit, that makes it MUCH cheaper and has almost the same motion.
      He didn't go into why you would use the laser module too deeply, because that module together with the focus kit gets you the possibility to focus the camera and keep the same object you are tracking in the shot. Pretty amazing, but only useful if you are really into tracking an either moving object through a shot or doing a shot with a telephoto lens on the object.
      For everything else, you don't need the HeadPLUS, you can use the HeadONE and it gets much more affordable.
