Olga, please make a video about Stepan Bandera. I see his face in many Ukrainian flags, and some people say controversial stuff about him... maybe you could clarify this and also add your opinion.
Theres not really any controversy as far as most historians are concerned, he was involved in the holocaust and fascist collaboration. For that reason the very small far right contingent in ukraine support him but most of ukraine seem to realise they have to disavow him if they want to fight the modern russian fascists and have a good relationship with Poland. Bandera would have lost his mind at the idea of a jewish president in ukraine for example.
@@Ukraineaissance2014 , thank you for answering. While I was waiting for her answer (which never came), I did my research. Apparently, it's not a "very small contingent" but, instead, a scandalous amount of people consider Stepan Bandera a national hero and patriarch of the Ukrainian state. Honesty, this video sounds like a war tourism ad 😁Witch is actually a positive thing. It somehow... Helps dealing with it. Shows the world a reality of war. Attracts aid and support. People should compare the US bombings in Iraq in the 1990's with the current Russian missiles hitting Ukraine. Thirty years ago, up to even now, US missiles rarely hit civilians while the Russian attacks now are mostly hitting civilians. I'd add Stick to curfew times and don't get tempted into any late underground clubs or bars. Don't drink alcohol outside. Also better to bring cash improved exchange rates.
True!
What's about lack of gas and diesel ? Is it still an issue ? May be better to travel by train and/or bicycle, right ?
Thanks for the video. Greetings from Kyiv!
Hi Olga, we don't say picture, replace that word with photo as in "don't take photos of of tanks and military equipment" Hope that helps you out.
As long as the message gets through for non-native English speakers, both “picture” and “photo” are good to go.
Many in the US use picture and photo interchangeably.

Always interesting information Olga.... I would love to visit Ukraine but my passport has expired now and I will not be renewing it...... I have spent most of my life traveling so I am happy just to watch other peoples travels now..... I hope you are enjoying the heat wave... It is going to be hot next week..... :-))) xxxx
Everything said was just common sense. If there was anything in this video, you did not know.... don't go because you have no business being there with your lack of basic understanding.
Also, if the majority of the population disavows him, why is everyone afraid of condemning him and his atrocious actions in WW2? Olga, for example, never positioned herself on this matter. I am honestly shocked by the result of some research.
@@ljonata1981 Your two hours of research must have been pretty hardcore? I am assuming that means you watch maybe two or three quick videos and maybe a couple random articles? Or, you are a cheap troll who stated a question without caring for any actual answer because you already had an answer handed to you previously and it wouldn't matter what she had said as you wouldn't accept anything but the narrative that has already been handed to you.
Apparently, my comments are being deleted. Thank you for reinforcing what is clear at this point.
@@ljonata1981 : And? In Russia, Stalin and Lenin are honored with monuments. They killed millions of people. Mainly Russians and Ukrainians. Stalin even made a pact with Hitler and invaded Poland with him
The last point was best, never start debate, People can be agreesive in Ukraine and if you say anything about Russia, you can even end up to death by some emotional ukrainians
That'll happen in any country invaded. People starts hating the invaders.
I will come for the salo and stay for the culture.
It's very difficult situation for ukraine....i have to sort out the best time to go ukraine
Honesty, this video sounds like a war tourism ad 😁Witch is actually a positive thing. It somehow... Helps dealing with it. Shows the world a reality of war. Attracts aid and support. Plus, shows resistance of Ukraine.
And the video is kinda funny. Like a travel vlog: "10 dos and don'ts in Luxor, Egypt", but instead of "don't get scammed" or "don't touch artwork" vlog says "bring 10 orc heads and a Javelin to earn respect from locals, who will invite you for a traditional tee and hunting. With a 7.62 rife. An occupier sized deer."
Ukraine already did Nuclear tourism in Chernobyl, so why not war?
Well, if you will check comments, you will find many people who are going to Ukraine during the war
Me and my husband are going to visit Ukraine in a few weeks!

"don't picture" is broken english. you wanted to say "don't take pictures of [...]".
People should compare the US bombings in Iraq in the 1990's with the current Russian missiles hitting Ukraine. Thirty years ago, up to even now, US missiles rarely hit civilians while the Russian attacks now are mostly hitting civilians. It's not inaccuracy, the Russians are targeting civilian locations on purpose.
In some instances, but Russia has been using a lot of old inaccurate soviet era missiles. (And let’s not even talk about cluster munitions) 😢
Unadulterated Bollacks. Thousands of Iraqi citizens were killed by so-called smart missiles launched by the USA. Do the research
@@blackduck9686 I don't have to do the research because I'm 1,000 times smarter than you and your "information" is INCORRECT.

The architecture in Ukraine looks beautiful, that would be one reason I would want to go there, but war is going on so I am put off. I hope Ukraine wins and peace is restored.
Except for hospitals, everything else in this video makes a lot of sense. Hospitals should be visibly marked, and their location should be published, because any attack against them is totally illegal. Publishing the information makes sure any attack on them is an even more blatant violation of the geneva conventions.
The Russians know where hospitals are. They bomb them anyway. Ask the people from the Mariupol area.
@@peter58peter Yes Peter you must continue only to give Putin Khulyo his 'happy ending' massages!
Thank you so much for this video. I am leaving for the Ukraine in less than 2 weeks. I will be staying for a month or more. No firm plans yet. And yes, I will be making photos and videos. So your advice is VERY helpful...and I will follow your advice. I am a US Navy veteran of the Viet Nam War. We had a saying,"Loose lips sink ships". So I understand the value of NOT helping the enemy. 😎I will be in the east/central part of Ukraine in the Poltava oblast. Some of my friends have family near Kharkiv. We may visit them, and while it will be risky, I want to see for myself how it looks. Many people here in the USA have a totally WRONG idea of what is happening. I want to tell the truth as **I ** see it. Once again, thank you Olga for all the good information and advice you have posted on your channel. I will be visiting the UK in February or March 2023. Maybe I could have the honor to meet you for a coffee or chai :)
And what the American people believe is happening in Ukraine?

My husband and I are leaving in less than 2 weeks as well! We are going for 2 weeks. I was actually born in Chortkiv Ternopil, and I’ve only been back to Ukraine once. my husband and I really wanted to go for our honeymoon to Ukraine last year but it didn’t work out and now with the war going on and cities getting destroyed, we figured we should go now while we still have a chance to see some of Ukraine.

OK so sad Russians invaded your country but nice to see you and your 2 daughters are now relocated in England and you are a survivor.
I'd love to visit someday since it's where my great grandparents were from, no idea where exactly though. How are transexuals and crossdressers treated over there?
I still can't decide when to come to Ukraine. Reluctant to consume resources (including living space) in Ukraine but spending dollars in Ukraine might actually help. Not clear about how the people in Ukraine and the Ukrainian government feels about visiting foreigners.

@@live_free_or_perish We are back from Ukraine and it was such a great experience! We already miss it and are starting to talk about when we can go back. I was there 5 years ago and things seem pretty much the same. Not much is affected on the western side of Ukraine, and some who don’t keep up with news have told us sometimes they forget war is going on on the other side. We also met some people who are very paranoid and think that Russia is listening to them and can even bug their buttons. We drove through Keiv to get to Cherkasy and saw a lot of ruins and destroyed buildings and bridges still. Made us very sad, but it was the only time we didn’t feel safe in Ukraine. Other than hearing sirens once in a while or wondering about the planes flying by, things went pretty smoothly. Would definitely recommend going there if you get a chance!

Hello Olga. I would love to visit Ukraine. Being from the USA, I didn't know much about it until recently. But now I see it is a beautiful country with wonderful people and culture. But there is no question in my mind that orcs have invaded and are trying to steal your country and kill your people. Being from the USA I'm sure the orcs would like to take my property and kill me too. I'll keep supporting Ukraine. There are plenty of people documenting the destruction going on so I don't need to be a tourist right now. I would just get in the way of the brave people fighting for their lives, their way of life. Nice tips tomorrow I travel over there
I’m going to be In Ukraine in a few weeks. How is it for Americans who travel? Are we able to rent a car there? And if so, do we have to do it with credit card? And do you think any of these are super unsafe areas? I’ll be in western ukraine such as lviv, Rivne, cherkassy, vinnytsia, khmelnytski and Ternopil regions. I hope people are welcoming to us when we are coming but I guess we will see
I think you can do anything (renting, paying with the credit card and so on).
But why only in the Western part of Ukraine? Come to us, to the Eastern part of Ukraine!
I haven't found any car rentals anywhere in Ukraine. Credit cards work at ATMs and many stores, but the hotels I have booked take a CC to hold the room, but they want actual CASH (UAH) not $$ for payment.
@@FloridaPete1948 Because renting the car isn't common in Ukraine.
People ask their friends to drive somewhere, or people own their own cars, or people use the public transport.
You may buy a cheap used car, maybe?
I don't know why the hotel wants as it wants.
Do you have normal friends in Ukraine who can help?
@@FloridaPete1948 I didn't say that you are afraid. But as a person who grew up in the Eastern part of Ukraine, I always wonder why people visited or visit only Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv, maybe Odessa, and believe that they "opened Ukraine"?
Shame that Russia (and the stupid policy of our local politicians) brought the war here.
In the next message I am going to post my post from the Facebook.
@@FloridaPete1948 I have an idea 💡
WHAT?
Travel & Tourism 🧳 in Eastern Ukraine for people from abroad, for people from everywhere around the globe 🌏 who want to visit Ukraine.
(of course, this will be possible after the end of the Ukraine war).
Retreat, sightseeings, active recreation, discovering new places of Eastern Ukraine unknown for the most of the people and so on.
Rural areas, industrial areas, private museums of weapons and old cars, kayaking on the Dnepr river, just living, eating, drinking and discovering how people live in another country (I mean Ukraine).
Services are underdeveloped here, but such "wild" tourism may be an "eye-opener" too :-)
WHERE?
Eastern Ukraine. Cities of Zaporozhey, Dnepr, Kherson, etc. and regions around them.
I live in Zaporozhye since 1987 and know a lot about this region.
WHY?
I am very annoyed when Ukrainian event organizers organise international events or international tourism somewhere in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, or in Western Ukraine, which is close to the European Union. And they call this "Open Ukraine!".
I contradict and answer that the real "Open Ukraine!" will happen when foreigners visit Eastern Ukrainian provinces!
I like chatting with foreigners and would like to see and help tourists in my city and region.
I speak English, Russian, Ukrainian and a bit of German.
HOW MUCH?
Prices for products and services in our region are low if we compare to salaries in Western countries or rich countries of the Persian gulf.
HOW TO COME?
Here in Zaporizhzhya a new international airport had been built, it was sending and receiving airplanes ✈️ to / from Europe and Middle East, but the war started.
Currently no air connection.
