When I was growing (1963) up I had two of these trucks. One of these was a 1933 pickup BB that had no engine as it was pulled and used for a water pump , it was complete with the box and fenders .I paid $ 5.00 Canadian for it. The 2nd truck was a 1934 pickup which had Flathead V8 but had no box , I was 14 years old and took the body from the 33 and put it on the 34 chassis (with help from my Dad . As the V8 smoked badly we rebuilt it putting cord rings on the pistons - as I forgot to deglaze the cylinder walls it ran ok but still smoked. I drove this truck when I went to school and put about 12,000 miles on it , I still have it and I am doing a restoration on it in my shop .

Are you kidding me ! Use a small angle grinder to get rid of the crack. Then clean it out and refill it with JB Weld !! That is not some high tech Indy truck, so JB will work perfectly for this repair. I have seen real old timers use JB on engine blocks and heads on stock cars for oval tracks. If it worked for them until the end of the season, it will work magic on the first pick up truck 👍🏻 Mr. Henry would be proud on the repair as well as how much of his money you just saved him 😊 JB works wonders, been around almost forever too. You have nothing to lose but like $10 for it and the labor to fix it. Now put your big boy pants back on and get it fixed or at least try it, you might find some at:aboy: stickers for it too ! Great show for a great truck with great people taking care of it and everything else too….

If you really want to drive it more than around town convert it to an open drive and 5 speed. Even the old Model A guys have updated their cars and do cross country trips. If you do a full on hot rod treatment it will just get lost in all the others and not have any personality. OK, Dan, first of all, nice job holding the gas can! You did good. Since you’re Gem’s relative and I’m married to her (this is Eldon), I have to vote for the ‘50s style hot rod, maybe a Caddy engine or heated up Ford flathead V8. Nothing too modern. Good luck!

Eldon, I appreciate that only FAMILY would notice I just held the gas can! 😆 And your vote is tallied--I'll bring a check to the next Christmas get-together...

Hey, we'll take that vote, Ray! Even though that 302 is just as quick as the original banger, we'll take some creative license with your vote and at least put you down for a vintage Ford V8!

Vintage hopped up 4 banger. Dropped axle and nothing more.

Do NOT modify it. Keep the old girl original and let her live on as the workhorse she was built to be!

Have no fear, we will not be doing any drastic modifications to it. Just used it yesterday to deliver tires to the tire shop, 92yrs old and still a workhorse! Jr.

Stoner is right. Hot rod it with period parts. With more power and better brakes it will get driven way more than stock or even a hopped up 4 banger. Isn't that what it's all about?

I WOULDN'T EVEN CONSIDER TRYING TO START AND ENGINE THAT HAS BEEN SITTING FOR YEARS. THE BEARING ARE DRY THE CYLINDERS ARE DRY THE OIL PUMP IS DRY....YOU DON'T SPIN AN ENGINE THAT HAS BEEN SITTING FOR A LONG TIME...!!

This would be better with an informative script.
Ditch the white-trash metal “music” noise.
    Nice vehicle. Poor presentation.
