Hi Julia, it’s unclear to me why you needed to rip stitches on the zip and then hand sew it again. Love the bag just a bit confused.
Hi Chris, Sorry for the confusion. I was confused too-Ha. Usually when I sew my pouches and bags, my zipper is stitched into the side seam. In this bag, I decided to leave the zipper end loose. Therefore, I had to leave a half inch open for the side seam. I had to add a few stitches so it had a finished look. I thought I'd have to do this by hand but was able to do it on my machine. There was just a little gab that need to be tucked in and top-stitches. Hope this helps. I haven't made a bag with a zipper tab before but I find them to be very helpful when zipping your bag. Julia

Your bag is lovely. I'd like to tell your readers about a funny thing that happened to me. I made a potholder out of some quilted chair cover material. I thought it was perfect, the thickness was there. I put a layer of the fire resistant material in the middle and it turned out nice. First time I used it to get something out of the over, it MELTED! I was shocked! Lesson learned, check on fiber content of material, see it it is appropropriate for the project!

This bag turned out super cute! Very unique
Cool! I got this huge cotton base comforter with 2 shams for free. I am cutting up the comforter to make a lapghan from the center design. And then i will make a shoulder wrap & likely a big tote bag with the other parts. I plan to embroider on the lapghan, wrap & the tote. Probably will do some applicay(sp?) as well. Just having fun with it.
