Fold Over Clutch using Reclaimed Fabrics, A Sewing Tutorial

- I’m in love with the foldover clutch phase and really wanted to give one a go. In this tutorial, I show my process. The velvet and tapestry pieces were purchased at this etsy shop: www.justbepurses.etsy.com

Cutting the pieces:
2 Quilt Batting pieces cut 12” x 15”
1 Back Fabric ( I used reclaimed denim) cut 12” x 15”
2 Lining pieces ( I used a cotton print) cut 12” x 15”
Strap pieces 3” by approximately 60” ( I pieced mine)
D-ring loops- 1 piece measuring 3” x 5”

Tip: When I make bags, I put an invisible zipper in the bottom of the lining. That way I have an extra space to hide extra cash or if a repair needs to be made, it provides easy access.

Hi Julia so lovely to have you back, I have really missed you. I hope you have had time to catch your breath and have some relaxation after your very busy summer. I absolutely love this little bag Juli, it is fabulous. I am getting more and into up-cycling fabrics and I have to say my favourite is denim. You made a wonderful job of it Julia as you always do. I have just started to make some Christmas projects, my eldest granddaughter and her lovely fiancé are getting married next year and they have just bought their first home together so I have just finished an Advent Calendar and some bunting (not my favourite sewing I have to say😀😀). I cannot believe summer is coming to a close and the nights are drawing in. The weather here has been lovely so far though. Hope you are all doing well Julia, sending you all my love as always. Hi Phyllis, I really thought this was ugly until the end LOL! It is fun to use fabrics in a different way. The big craft sale went good! Rain was in the forecast but it held off.
