WOW!!! You have created a wonderful piece of beautiful art, I Love It!!! My Grandmother made me, my sister and brother 2 different patchwork quilts each while I was growing up. We completely wore out the first ones, but I still have the 2nd one she created for me. I also Love what you did with the buttons on there as well!!! The whole thing is so cool!!! I just found you with this video and I'm so glad I did!! If you haven't guessed as of yet, I have fallen in love, so I liked, subbed and rang the bell!!!

I had a terrible, awful Great Aunt who was the meanest lady you've ever met, but was an incredible seamstress. She used to make crazy quilts with her scraps and give them to people, and they are absolutely gorgeous. I'd love to say that looking at them brought back fond memories of a lovely relative, but at least they were pretty!
Sorry to hear that she was so mean 😞😞 that’s quite unfortunate, but glad to hear you can at least appreciate the artistry regardless of the personality behind it

RIGHT?! Same here! Well, I don't mind the precision of conventional quilting, but I ALSO love hoarding scraps and hand sewing, so was a great project for me, and I hope you enjoy it too!
This looks much too complicated for me, even though I have a beautiful pillow made of a crazy quilt from a relative that was never finished. I admire the craft, but I have no patience for the work, lol. So I enjoyed watching you do it very much!😊
I feel the same, I hate all the measuring and having to be obsessed about where everything goes. I am gonna start a raw edge kwandi with kantha stitching, but check into scrap rolls and scrap covers for journals and scrap table runners etc.
As a child, I was sick a lot and spent many days in bed under a patchwork quilt! I enjoyed feeling the different textures of the fabrics! Thank you for bringing this all back to my memory!!!
Beautiful work. You are doing exactly what women of the past did. They made it up as they went along. You don’t have to follow a prescribed stitch pattern. Make it up and enjoy the results. Positively is the key , don’t put yourself down for winging it. That is the way it done. ❤ keep going!.
I’ve have a lovely, somewhat fragile, Victorian crazy quilt adorning my walls for literally decades and only just now found out that I’ve ALWAYS wanted to make one. Gee thanks Shannon :)
“only just now found out that I’ve always wanted to make one” just made me giggle so hard… thank you 😅😅 I certainly hope some of your scraps find their way into a crazily quilted thing in the near future! You’re welcome! 🤣☺️🤪
My great grandmother made a couple of crazy quilts in the 1910s. When my mom passed away, I was sure they disappeared in the estate sale-but they DIDN’T!!!! My sister has them! Whew! They’re amazing.
Queen Lili’uokalani, Hawaii's last queen, made a lovely crazy quilt during 10 months of house arrest. I encourage everyone to look up photos. Her stitching is so beautiful and there is so much history in the piece. 💗 Thanks for the great video!
Last year a friend gave me all of the scraps from the old sewing classroom from his school. Sadly, they have discontinued the sewing class. But I was given bins of fabric scraps, ribbons, and buttons. I started a crazy quilt, and worked on it religiously for 3-4 months, and then set it aside for other crafts. You have inspired me to get it out again and set to work. I may leave the concept of a full-size quilt, and go for a lovely robe. Thank you, Shannon for what you do! I love how, like so many of us, you make do with what you have or can find.
Oh, I’m so glad you’re motivated to work on it again - I found it great for keeping idle hands busy while watching a show, or waiting for something! Best of luck on your robe!
I made a full size crazy quilt by accident. Just kept making another block for my grandmother (she was supposed to make some too but didn't). took a couple of years but suddenly the stack of blocks made a complete quilt.
You have excellent timing. I just brought home 60+ decades of fabric a scraps from my late grandmother. While some of that fabric will go into completing the 50-odd unfinished quilts that were mixed in, there is plenty to spare. Once I get past Thanksgiving, I will dig in and see what looks like fun to share, which was my plan all along. I will keep in mind to look for a handful of warm, cool, and bright options.
Thank you, that's so sweet! I'm very much looking forward to it! Also, just FYI, the P.O. number on-screen has a typo, the correct address is in the video description (sorry)!!
Oh. My. Dear. Lord. THIS concept is absolutely magical. To create A MASTERPIECE from scraps and thread. AN HEIRLOOM. To be passed down the generations. I must, mustn't I ⁉️
I have a ton of scraps from various sewing projects. You've inspired me to (finally) make a crazy patchwork skirt (with the fancy stitching) out of the more autumnal colors. I'll happily send you some of my scraps too! What a cool project!
I am so excited to see the crazy quilt aesthetic making a comeback! I absolutely love the look. My Grandmother used to make me small crazy quilts for my dolls and I own a 1907 crazy quilt with the date and the peoples names embroidered onto it. I am now going to look through my scrap stash and see what I have that will work for a crazy quilt. This will be a great winter project since I can't work outside in my garden until spring.
Yea, the look is just SO fun! Also, how cool that you have an original crazy quilt... that's so cool. Who are the names, do you think/know? People who worked on it, family members, people who donated fabric? I'd be so curious to know!
So interesting history period and this tradition, I like it so much! I think almost all nations have their special quilt , its great to discover them🤩👏
I’ve been a quilter for years and years, but usually “constructed” baby and oversized lap quilts. This video snuck 8n to my feed, and I sat through it mesmerized ❤❤❤❤
I love that!! Glad you enjoyed it, and I hope you'll stick around and check out some of the other videos on the channel - there are SO many fun Makes in the archives!! ♥️💜💙
I love how kind of loopy you got with the jet lag - you're always so composed and it was a sweetly human moment to see you tipped a little bit sideways. ☺️ Thank you for your continued efforts to bring us such lovely and inspiring ideas. We appreciate your work!

Oh my god, I gasped!! This is such a beautiful style, a beautiful work. I was just eyeing a book about border embroidering for Christmas right now. You're making me want it even more.
On the one hand, I’d say you don’t really need a book, on the other hand, I do love crafting books and it can be helpful to have it all in one place instead of searching all over the internet for various images, so I totally get it, and I hope you find that book under your Christmas tree this year! 🎄🎁
I am now looking for a book like that. I love sewing and crafting books and it's going to be a while until I will be able to start a project of my own. I'll use it like I do most of these kinds of books--for inspiration!
Love this! Please do more. 😊 I actually made myself a new purse kinda like this. I made a purse over 10 years ago, which was falling apart, and everytime I tried to find a new one (it just wasn't the right size or style) I never ended up using them. So one day I though why don't I just make another like my old one I love? I used old worn out jeans (all different colors) and patched it together. Then I added lots of embroidery all over it. I love it so much! Definitely a great way to use up scraps otherwise too small for other projects.
Wow, I'm currently working on a jeans purse that I scrapped together and collecting different embroidery stitches to embellish it. That is why I'm watching this video now😊.
Wonderful! Thank you!! I hope you'll stick around and check out some of the other videos on the channel - there are SO many fun Makes in the archives!! ♥️💜💙
I love the crazy quilt you did with all of your embroidery stitches. I did not do a crazy quilt but I used a lot of border stitches on a needle case I am making . It is not done but I think it is great fun.
I have a couple bags of leftover clothing and fabric scraps from my grandparents who died last year. I've been intending to make a crazy quilt with everything, and this is helping inspire me to get started. :)
Perfect! (and that was absolutely one of my musings that I had during this project that I just didn’t have time to expand upon but I think this would literally be perfect as a memorial quilt with clothing from loved ones that have passed)
I'm tempted to send you scraps, but I'm also now tempted to scrap stash bust my own crazy quilt project! You've succeeded at inspiring me. But don't worry...I have basically the same 2-3 kinds of color piles as you do, so when I pick earthy or blue I'll send you the rest!
Definitely prioritize yourself and your crafting, and I'll take leftovers if you have time and energy!! I'll have the P.O. box through the end-ish of January, and also, just FYI, the P.O. number on-screen has a typo, the correct address is in the video description (sorry)!!
Thank you for inspiring us, to use our scraps for something useful ❤ I have a laundry hamper full of scraps, and now I have an idea of how to use some of it.
Embroideryis fantastic because we use many of the same stitches today as yesteryears past, and free style embroidery is always in fashion, making up whatever stitches work for you and your project.
many years ago I did this for a daybed, but on the sewing machine ... considering I was not yet a 12 step graduate, I did most of it while intoxicated ... I can't believe how good it came out nevertheless ... when I moved from NJ to Hawaii I gave it away and noticed it was pretty well done except some of the pieces were not laying flat they had ripples here and there. These were all geometric, not all different shapes like yours. Such a great piece, thanx for bringing me back some nostalgia from the 80's of my life. Your work is exquisite as well as your instruction and energy. Thank you!
Wow that comment was a trip in and of itself! Loved it, thanks so much for sharing, and I'm so glad you enjoyed the video 🥰🫶 I hope you'll stick around and check out some of the other videos on the channel - there are SO many fun Makes in the archives!! ♥️💜💙
You're reminding me of my daughter not having a plan and a contingency or 14 is truly painful for her. Stepping out of that and making something so beautiful and stunning is something to be very proud of! Congratulations on stepping way out of your comfort zone!!! Quilting in all forms has always bseen on the list! I have a box of scraps from making masks. Figured I should save them for my plague quilt which would have to be a crazy quilt cause that what it made me. All those people talking about all their extra time were killing me. There was no extra time for me! Three generations home and underfoot!
Thank you! For me it's less about the contingencies (because I do know that crafting goes sideways ALL the time, and I kinda relish in the problem solving that it causes), but I DO really like having a plan, and structure to start out with - whether that's having an arsenal of stitches that I can use to embroider, or knowing exactly which pattern I want to start out with.... it makes it feel like at least starting out is going to be controlled, and then when things go kiddywampus, it's a bit less chaotic?! I dunno, maybe not 🤣
I was in High School during the early 1970’s. I saw a very tall and thin boy wearing patchwork pants. His mother made the pants. We dated for a year. We went our separate ways.
Me encantó como.te quedo el bolso el detalle los botones genial 👍 Y los puntos ,muy bien ubicados Lo que más me gustó fue verte sentada en el baño.a las tres de la madrugada 😅 Gracias por compartir 😊
It is so pretty! I saw the same video you saw and started on a blanket but realized it is too big a project for me to start with. A bag... or even a bible cover would be amazing! This was already an awesome concept, but you took it to another level.
Oh my goodness you’re making me want to dump everything and do this right now! I love how you just made up stitches as you went, cause honestly, you can try to get a solid encyclopedia of embroidery stitch names, but there’s so much disagreement across the world and you can vary every single stitch in so many ways, it’s like… why bother, just stitch whatever you want!
That’s such a good point… like that feather stitch… when I was looking up the name for the video, there were diagrams of all the variations, and it was wild! Like at what point does it stop being feather stitch, and start being a different kind of stitch? STITCH IT ALL, WHO CARES AS LONG AS YOU LIKE IT!! So true! 💙💜💚
@@ShannonMakes Exactly! I started with Chain Stitch as a base and ended up with 90 different stitches that you could say were all just variations on chain stitch but also all have their own names (and multiple names at that), and it's just like... at some point, you gotta stop caring about the labels and just make stuff.
Omg!! You have inspired me to start a small project to crazy quilt!! I had a childhood friend that had a crazy quilt in her room that I just loved! It was made of all velvet gemstone colored fabrics!! The stitching was beautiful!! I haven’t thought of it in years until I came across your video!! Thanks for taking us on your crazy quilt adventure!!
I swear decades ago when I was in college I stumbled across a quilt show on campus and there was a patchwork quilt that I still remember. It was all jewel tone velvets. All the lovely embroidery stitching I was mesmerized.
Your quilt is amazing, and your stitching very even and lovely. I wrote the book Crazy Quilting 25 years ago, but haven’t done much crazy quilting since then. Christine Dabbs
Oh my gosh, Shannon. This is gorgeous! I thought the embroidery was excellent, but the buttons and beadwork take it over the top! Tis peak, ma'am! Tis peak!
40 years ago I made up this method of crazy patchwork (no UA-cam back then) and made a big quilt cover for myself. I still use it and love it. Over the years I have had to replace most of the embroidery (the thread wore out) and a few of the patches that were old or recycled and getting dangerously thin with washing and use. I still love it, each patch has memories of my youth. More recently I have been making fabric using the same fold and tack method but stitching them down with some of the fancy stitches on my machine. It’s so much fun and the thread is much more durable. I hope you still enjoy your lovely bag 40 years from now 😊
That's amazing! And kind of fun that you get to keep updating it with new embroidery! And definitely some people will love to go by machine for the stitching that that's fantastic too!
I was so blessed too find a Reader's Digest book of from Embroidery to rug- making. Hard back books are the that last a long time plus you can print them out and laminate them too carry with project and could be put into a 3 ring notebook.
it turned out so beautifully ! i'm a beginner sewist, so i do not have nearly enough fabric scraps to attempt this yet, but i hope i have enough to create a patchwork like yours someday ! great video as always.
Ask some friends who sew if they'll donate some scraps. They probably will quite happily, and you'll get continued encouragement to finish, as they'll want to see your progress. (And where their scraps fit in.)
@7juno Most fabric shops sell remnants at considerable savings. Also, some thrift shops (more close to Amish communities in my experience) sell remnants or leftover fabric at bargain prices. And as mentioned above, clothes that might be tossed usually have sections worth saving as scraps (and certainly buttons or zippers).
Super fun to watch! My grandmother made many crazy quilts, one including jewel tone velvets, satins etc, which was my favorite. I do my own scrap fabric creations but have yet to do a crazy quilt.
To be fair, I’m the one doing the editing, so it’s easy enough to only keep the positive parts 🤣🤣 Although this was a pretty straightforward project, so it was easy to be upbeat! 😊😊
Thank you!! I do a lot of recycling around here... my entire sewing table was built from literal garbage I pulled off the streets of Montreal (video here if you're interested: ua-cam.com/video/SgFuQvNUqgE/v-deo.html )
Shannon I absolutely adore your bag! It would make an awesome carpet type bag with some type of closure. I could see it going on travels with you bringing so much joy to those who see it. What a beautiful creation! ❤❤❤ - Kathy
Hi Shannon! I love this project. I save every scrap, no matter how small. The tiniest ones get collected until there is enough to stuff a dog bed, and anything over 1x1 goes toward an ongoing scrap quilt project or saved until I can use it for something else. This bag definitely inspired me to consider a more deliberate scrap patchwork project (as opposed to the current one which will be beautifully hideous with dozens of different clashing fabrics.) I would love to send some scraps your way! I know you said any type is welcome, but is there anything you would particularly fancy?
Stuffing the dog bed is literally genius - I don't ever stuff things for wearing with scraps because it's too heavy and doesn't really breathe, but the dog bed is PERFECT!! Also, just FYI, the P.O. number on-screen has a typo, the correct address is in the video description (sorry)!! There isn't anything I'd fancy - maybe whatever you'd most like to see in a video, or if you have a good story behind some fabrics, you can send it with a little note?
@@ShannonMakes Thank you! My dog enjoys the scraps more than other types of stuffing because he likes to push the bed around and arrange it into a little nest, but I definitely wouldn't find it comfortable for anything I would use! I always feel bad throwing away the tiny scraps so I was very pleased to figure out it's his favorite bed stuffing. It's also nice because we can just throw the entire bed in the washing machine and dryer when needed. I will search through my scraps for some of my favorites for you. This is a great idea; I'm excited to possibly see my scraps in a video! And I will be sure to pull the address from the description; thanks for the heads up.
What a lovely way to use up scraps. You did a great job getting out of your comfort zone. I wish I had the time to do one myself but with a new grandchild on the way I won't have time for at least a year. The knitted lace shawl is testing my patience and skills. I look forward to the knitting bag as a possible future project. In the meantime I'll try to look out some scraps. Thank you for your always cheerful and enthusiastic attitude. 😊
You're very welcome... and there's no rush, the concept has been around since at least the 1870s or so, so you can get to it whenever life gives you the opportunity!
I’ve never been too fond of crazy quilts, however you may have changed my mind! I do love the freedom to create without a lot of rules and your more color controlled version is really pretty and inspiring! I have so many bobbles and treasures that can be added so I may have to give it a try. However, I’m wondering if it can first be sewn down with a machine and then embellished with the embroidery stitches??
I think crazy quilts are beautiful. And to make a bag makes great conversation piece. I am dying to make one but not very good at putting colors or the pieces together. But you are inspiring me n I hope to do one! Thanks for sharing your videos!
My true Love of quilting is The Crazy Quilt. I do like that you hand sewed your bag. I am recuperating from a stroke so I need to keep my hands moving. At this stage of my recovery my brain has a hard time following a pattern or even attaching to backing. Im still kicking so there is hope. Enjoyed your video and the cute names of your stitches. ✌🏻♥️
Thank you, I'm so glad you enjoyed it 🥰🫶 I know how hard the stroke recovery can be, so I wish you all the best on your journey, and hope that the healing process, while it can be slow, continues forwards to the point where you can sew again!
I have made 2 crazy quilts out of old sweatshirts. I sewed them onto a bedsheet. It makes a fun blanket/ bedspread. And besides that, it's a good way to use all those old sweatshirt parts that are nice and warm.
I'm not sure why your video popped up on my feed but I'm glad it did! I haven't really sewn anything since I was in school. You know back in the days when we had home economics classes where you were taught to sew and cook. Thank you, you have inspired me!
That is awesome! Maybe the algorithm is doing something right for once🤣🤣 Hope you enjoyed the sewing, even if you haven't done it for a while, and I definitely invite you stick around the channel for a while and check out some of the other projects here... there are lots of fun ones to choose from, for entertainment in the coming months 🥰
I've always been primarily a paper/pencil and paint/canvas sort of artist, but I've always loved fiber arts and sewing and finally started to really dig into them as an adult. I REALLY want to embroider handmade clothes but it looks so complicated. Your method feels much easier for me me cuz it's a lot closer to doodling and I love doodles and drawing intricate patterns. This is all freehand, no rules to follow other than what I already know from being an artist and sewer for many years, and feels so much more accessible for me! I'm thinking a vest for myself, I have so many scrap fabrics! Tysm! I ADORE your content!
A vest would be perfect!! AND I have a vest video on my channel (it's maybe not a strict tutorial, but it's got lots of good tips!? And it's just a good time!): ua-cam.com/video/DAvUiCS-2hE/v-deo.html
Thank you so much for sharing. Love what you do especially the hand stitching which you are so talented at. Also love your enthusiasm and love of the craft. Your creations are going to be highly prized one. I am a dress designer and reside in South Africa.
Hi! I just dropped in to catch this make and wanted to suggest that you consider quilt as you go crazy quilt for your larger community collaboration. That way you can take sections with you on your flight and when you sew them together when you get home, it will be finished. 90% of all the work can be done on the plane. After making the bag, you now know what a comfortable working size is best on a plane. So I'd make the quilt as you go sections that size. Sending lots of love 💖 from sunny 🌞 Arizona 🌵. Take care of yourself and each other 😷.
Love it! I don't have much for scraps (yet) because my kids keep taking them and using them for their own projects. I did have to laugh in Minnesotan when the driver showed up and you said, "Ope!"

Oh definitely, this is a really good project for just doodling away on a little bit at a time without needing to plan much ahead or think too hard!!
I have a ton of scraps from various sewing projects. You've inspired me to (finally) make a crazy patchwork skirt (with the fancy stitching) out of the more autumnal colors. I'll happily send you some of my scraps too! What a cool project!
Oh, thank you!!
Quick update: the P.O. number on-screen has a typo, the correct address is in the video description (sorry)!!
I think almost all nations have their special quilt , its great to discover them🤩👏
OMG You have so much patience😊
I’ve been a quilter for years and years, but usually “constructed” baby and oversized lap quilts.
This video snuck 8n to my feed, and I sat through it mesmerized ❤❤❤❤
I love that!! Glad you enjoyed it, and I hope you'll stick around and check out some of the other videos on the channel - there are SO many fun Makes in the archives!! ♥️💜💙
Twins!
I love how kind of loopy you got with the jet lag - you're always so composed and it was a sweetly human moment to see you tipped a little bit sideways. ☺️
Thank you for your continued efforts to bring us such lovely and inspiring ideas. We appreciate your work!
You’re very welcome!!
These kinds of projects are my bread and butter! I love projects that use scraps and nothing goes to waste ❤ Thank you for this video
You are so welcome! And you'd definitely enjoy my zero waste apron, and my extreme budget videos ("tiny budget, average tools" and "sewing on a shoestring") because they were also very environmentally friendly videos with very little waste!!
"Doing a little dance... a line dance." That cracked me up. 😂 Thanks for another wonderful video.
Glad you enjoyed it… it gave me a solid giggle too when I said it 😂😂
I hand quilted two quilts in the last month because it was a very stressful month. Quilting and audiobooks were my happy place. I’m happy I found you.
I'm so sorry to hear that it was a stressful time for you, but I'm glad you had your quilting and crafting and books to fall back on
Loved this video: the upfront teaser montage and filming yourself filming yourself while embroidering on a plane - very cool! Beautiful result.
Thank you! And Phil is glad you approved of his cinematography 😂😂
Shannon you did an exquisite job!!!
Thank you!! I hope you'll stick around and check out some of the other videos on the channel - there are SO many fun Makes in the archives!! ♥️💜💙
I knew it!! I knew it was inspired from Kristine's video. I love watching both of your channels so this makes me so happy.
I'm so glad! It was such a lovely video, and I’m glad it’s bringing her channel the attention it deserves! 🥰🥰
You have made me interested in patchwork again. I never thought that crazy patchwork could ever be so beautiful! 🎉
Awww, thank you so much!!
So fun! I’m a total fabric hoarder, too!! I’d love to see more projects to use up scraps, notions, buttons, etc.
I am in the process of making a crazy quilt bag and saw your video… I had to smile!
Oh goodness, that's too perfect!
I love that you work on projects in your down time. The organic look of the bag warms my crafty heart. 🪡🪡🪡
Thank you!! ♥️♥️
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL
HAND STITCHING/EMBROIDERY !!!
I collect old quilts....what a treasure....
😂❤❤
Thank you 🥰
Love the button montages. The video certainly makes covering an existing bag in crazy quulting more accesible.
I actually made myself a new purse kinda like this.
Wow, great job! 🔥🔥🔥
Respect. Привет из России . Большое удовольствие наблюдать за вашими эмоциями. Потрясающий крейзи.
Such a great idea! I have some denim scraps from making capris and shorts, so maybe I'll do that!
Wow, I'm currently working on a jeans purse that I scrapped together and collecting different embroidery stitches to embellish it. That is why I'm watching this video now😊.
This is very beautiful. I did not consider patchwork quilting, but after seeing your video, I am inspired to try one.
Wonderful!
Oh my goodness, you did such an amazing job on this one! It came out so good!!
Thank you so much!! And thank YOU for the inspiration 🥰🥰
Very Well done Young Lady…Have LOVED CRAZY PATCH FOR most of my adult Life 89 years…Your Work is Stunning…BEAUTIFUL…❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you!! I hope you'll stick around and check out some of the other videos on the channel - there are SO many fun Makes in the archives!! ♥️💜💙
I sew odds and ends together, but I never thought of adding embroidery stitches to the piece. Thank you very much.
Thank you!! I hope you'll stick around and check out some of the other videos on the channel - there are SO many fun Makes in the archives!! ♥️💜💙
Delightful!!! I love the t-rex embroidery hahaha
Kristine Vike is just lovely, awesome source of inspiration. :)
🦖🪡🧵🦖!! And thank you!
Thank you for inspiring us, to use our scraps for something useful ❤
I have a laundry hamper full of scraps, and now I have an idea of how to use some of it.
PERFECT!! Can't wait for you to try it out yourself!!
I have decided to make a cover for my sewing machine.
Do you have any favourite colours ?, I just might have something for your next project 🎁
Такой приятный и талантливый человек! У меня не было другого выхода, кроме как подписаться😉
Absolut, einverstanden! Was für Energie hat diese schöne Frau!!👍
Embroideryis fantastic because we use many of the same stitches today as yesteryears past, and free style embroidery is always in fashion, making up whatever stitches work for you and your project.
Thank you!! I hope you'll stick around and check out some of the other videos on the channel - there are SO many fun Makes in the archives!! ♥️💜💙
@@ShannonMakesThis video did make me subscribe, i love your style of crafting and how nice you are. Happy sewing!
many years ago I did this for a daybed, but on the sewing machine ... considering I was not yet a 12 step graduate, I did most of it while intoxicated ...
That's absolutely gorgeous. I have always loved Crazy Quilts. The beauty is in the chaos. Time to stash bust a hippie sack!
I totally agree!
Me encantó como.te quedo el bolso el detalle los botones genial 👍
Y los puntos ,muy bien ubicados
Lo que más me gustó fue verte sentada en el baño.a las tres de la madrugada 😅
Gracias por compartir 😊
Your video was so much fun to watch! You are a delightful young lady. Thank you for sharing this project.
Thank you so much!
It is so pretty! I saw the same video you saw and started on a blanket but realized it is too big a project for me to start with. A bag... or even a bible cover would be amazing! This was already an awesome concept, but you took it to another level.
Thank you!! 🥰🥰
You are very welcome, so glad you enjoyed it! Good luck on your own!
I swear decades ago when I was in college I stumbled across a quilt show on campus and there was a patchwork quilt that I still remember. It was all jewel tone velvets. All the lovely embroidery stitching I was mesmerized.
Thank you!! I hope you'll stick around and check out some of the other videos on the channel - there are SO many fun Makes in the archives!! ♥️💜💙
Absolutely gorgeous!!! I’m in!! Wow! Gotta go…… getting my fabrics together! Can’t wait!
Wonderful! 🥰🥰
It's just scraps. But it's transformed into a thing of beauty through the alchemy of craft! ❤
So true!!
Tis peak!
Thank you so much!! 🧵🪡🧵
How beautiful! I'm going to use these ideas to patch up and rescue the moth holes in my favorite cashmere sweater!
oooh, what a fun idea!! Love that!
She thinks SHE'S a hoarder.....hold my beer, dear lady. (Also, AMAZING project! I am so inspired!)
As much of a hoarder as living in a small apartment with 3 other people will allow
I'm with you! 😂 Shannon's stash is to my scrap stash as a minnow is to a whale!
О да!!! 😂😂😂😂
Same here 😂. I have more craft supplies than a haberdashery.
Let Shannon hold your beer while you hold my Chardonnay. 😂 I have thousands of yards of fabric. Just can’t seem to let anything go.
I love this project! And the idea of sending you some of my extra crafty bits is THRILLING! How exciting ❤
It's equally thrilling the thought of receiving them! 😊
Quick update: the P.O. number on-screen has a typo, the correct address is in the video description (sorry)!!
@@ShannonMakes Got it, thanks!
Thank you! You’ve inspired me to tackle my scrap box. 😊
Amazing!!
I was so blessed too find a Reader's Digest book of from Embroidery to rug- making. Hard back books are the that last a long time plus you can print them out and laminate them too carry with project and could be put into a 3 ring notebook.
Love that, congrats on your find!
Thank you! 🥰🥰
I've always wanted to try my hand at Crazy Patchwork & NOW I'M DEFINITELY INSPIRED 🙂🙃
MOST excellent!! ♥️💙💜
it turned out so beautifully ! i'm a beginner sewist, so i do not have nearly enough fabric scraps to attempt this yet, but i hope i have enough to create a patchwork like yours someday !
great video as always.
Just an excellent reason to save your scraps (old linens and clothes are also great items to incorporate in there!!)
Ask some friends who sew if they'll donate some scraps. They probably will quite happily, and you'll get continued encouragement to finish, as they'll want to see your progress. (And where their scraps fit in.)
@@jeanettepetersen3514 thank you for the idea ! unfortunately none of my friends sew 😅 i'm sure the suggestion will be helpful to others though !
Your crazy quilting is beautiful. You have inspired me to think about a project where I could do it too. Thank you.
Thank you! I hope you find a project that speaks to your heart!
Beautiful bag thank you for sharing with us ❤
My pleasure 😊
Super fun to watch! My grandmother made many crazy quilts, one including jewel tone velvets, satins etc, which was my favorite. I do my own scrap fabric creations but have yet to do a crazy quilt.
That is awesome!
You’re So Positive
To be fair, I’m the one doing the editing, so it’s easy enough to only keep the positive parts 🤣🤣 Although this was a pretty straightforward project, so it was easy to be upbeat! 😊😊
I was inspired by your hobbit robe but now it needs crazy quilting! It'll probably work out better with my more slap dash style of sewing.
A style for everyone!!
Anyone else ever see the movie Seven Brides for Seven Brothers? Millie's quilted skirt!! I have been obsessed with it since i was a child
I'm actually working on making the quilt dress she wore at the very end of the movie.
Love that you reused an old bag!
Thank you!! I do a lot of recycling around here... my entire sewing table was built from literal garbage I pulled off the streets of Montreal (video here if you're interested: ua-cam.com/video/SgFuQvNUqgE/v-deo.html )
Now I want to finish my rainbow patchwork skirt to make a crazy patchwork accessories with the leftovers
Oh perfect!!
Beautiful work 🤩
Thank you! Cheers!
I love it so much! I've been watching your progress on Instagram and I really want to make a crazy quilting project now. Maybe a tea cozy...
Tea cozy would be lovely, and small enough that you could go absolutely nuts with the embroidery if you wanted to!
So pretty
Thank you!! 😌😌
Shannon I absolutely adore your bag! It would make an awesome carpet type bag with some type of closure. I could see it going on travels with you bringing so much joy to those who see it. What a beautiful creation! ❤❤❤ - Kathy
I totally agree! 😊
Absolutely incredible Shannon. Your creativity, enthusiasm, and boundless energy never fails to inspire me.
Wow, thank you!
You just inspired me to make my next project of a belly dancer “tool” bag ! I’m so excited ❤🎉
That is awesome!
Okay! Now you have me curious. A belly dancer's tool bag? What on earth would it contain?
I save my tiny scraps for dog toys made from worn out knit shirt sleeves. Dog bed is brilliant.😊
"It's like they're doin' a little dance 🦖 🦖 " hilarious. This was such a fun video. Thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
Remember, there are no rules, only creativity! Do it by machine, do it by hand, make your crafty little heart happy!
Yes
So cool 😍💖
Thank you!!
I think crazy quilts are beautiful. And to make a bag makes great conversation piece. I am dying to make one but not very good at putting colors or the pieces together. But you are inspiring me n I hope to do one! Thanks for sharing your videos!
Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed the adventure!
Now I need a crazy quilt patchwork bag. I love your’s!
Thank you!!
Wow, that is gorgeous!😍
Thank you! Cheers!
Me encanta, precioso. Un trabajo de absoluta concentración, relajación, desconexión, Meditación. PRECIOSO TRABAJO ARTISTA!!
I'm in love with this! I want to make crazy quilted christmas stockings!
You should! I'm actually doing that right now!! 🎄🎅🧦
It's so beautiful and varied that I want to look at every detail! This is a unique bag! 👏🏵
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for sharing. Love what you do especially the hand stitching which you are so talented at. Also love your enthusiasm and love of the craft. Your creations are going to be highly prized one. I am a dress designer and reside in South Africa.
You’re very welcome! 🥰🥰🥰
🤣🤣🤣
