Ive been trying to like mine for a couple weeks now, but its really not happening. Its too thick behind the edge, and the steel is super soft. I noticed the clip on mine was loose, so i tried to tighten it but as soon as i put the torx bit in the bolt the head broke completely off. It was only connected by the lobes. Thats the kind of terrible quality you can only get on a Spyderco and Lionsteel collab, so its got that going for it.
I think there is a reason people are not hanging on to these. I’m still on the fence about keeping it after carrying it for a few days. Didn’t notice an issue with the clip but the screw head breaking is a concern for sure. Thanks for the input!
Clean the bearings...better yet, replace them with skiff bearings. Trust me on this. The double row bearings are all gunked up with grease/heavy oil. Clean the knife and I think you'll be pleased with the results.
Yeah, I usually give most knives I get a good cleaning with rubbing alcohol to get the factory gunk off before putting some new oil on. Might do that for this one too if I decide to keep it. I wish makers would use higher quality bearings so people don’t have to put skiffs in everything. TBF I feel like a lot of the overseas OEMs are using better bearings these days.
@@harleynarwhal good question, not finding that info anywhere. I would reach out to skiff. From measuring I think the 3/16” multi row bearing should work, but check with Skiff before ordering. Edit: 5mm x (16) x 1mm (single row small bearings) per other user reviews.
@@harleynarwhal I got an email from Steve at Skiff and he said people have had luck with 5mm x (16) x 1mm. Even though they’re not double rowed, they fit and a couple people have left good reviews for the Spymyto. Hope that helps!
After carrying for a while, I get it… it def doesn’t feel like a Spyderco. Makes sense since it was made by Lionsteel. It’s a polarizing knife for sure.

What size skiffs will fit? Can't find it in the compatibility listings. Please and thank you!
