foxbody oil pans have 2 sumps, and 2 oil drains. you have to drain both on oil changes
On my 1985 Mustang GT there where two drain plugs to remove. One was behind the steering rack.
FYI there 2 oil pan drains I think you only drained the front 1
I have really enjoyed watching this car come together. You have really upgraded it since the original purchase. That tends to be how I do things as well. I find it is pretty rewarding to improve as I go.
It's cool to watch the steady improvement on this machine. For me it's maybe 90% of what motivates. When people act like my car is still not "perfect" I know how much "better" it is. And that's big time satisfying.
You have to drain the oil pan twice there's an drain plug in the front and on the side behind the cross member

Bro... Your Fox has two drain plugs. You didn't drain the rear one. You left a qrt in the pan. Then you added AmsOil to it. I watch all your videos. I have a fox. You have transformed that beautiful car, i love your car.
I can't remember if your is an 89 or not but Ford did put misprinted dipsticks in them. Capacity is 5 qts. After you drain both sumps and refill it, run it, scribe your dipstick at the actual full mark, and you're good. You're kicking it on this car though! Keep up the good work!
My 86 5.0 had two oil pan drain plugs.
Nice, I suggested that a couple of weeks ago in your video. It makes a huge difference.
Apparently 2 drain plugs in that year Mustang, was going to comment on the lack of oil you were driving with. Now you just added 4 quarts of Amsoil to 1 quart of filthy oil. Oh well.

Up here where I live in the Seattle, Washington area, I can get along without A/C but lacking windshield wipers would be a no go, Rain Ex or not. I even converted the vacuum wipers on my '56 Buick to electric as I got tired of them quitting every time I climbed a hill.

Get you a leak down tester. It will tell you everything you need to know about the motors condition. Takes the guess work out.

Double sump.....two drain plugs. Did you drain the rear sump behind the K member? Probably why it took less oil.
That just might be it.

Window trim around your quarter glass is part of the window.. best is to try and restore of find a gem in the yard

if the car smoke when you first start it, thats valve seals. if it smokes all of the time its rings
It probably took 4qts because foxbodies have 2 drain plugs. One for the front sump and one for the back

Just did the exact same thing on my 93, those window felts are very difficult, thats for sure, mine is white so my window frames are black and had to repaint those, spent hrs prepping it just to have my paint mess up, apparently it had gotten too cold on my porch and started spattering and spraying greyish, wanted to pull my hair out.

You have two sumps in the pan on the Fox bodies.
The blend door does not control the air flow direction in your dash . It mixes cold and hot air for your temp control .
My Front bumper is like yours. im considering getting a one stage paint and respraying myself. Ever though of doing the same?
At least you can buy your trim. I can't buy mine new. I have a 79 ford mustang ghia coupe. Its all chrome trim.

If your heater is by pasted I'll bet the core has been leaking, restrictor is waste of labor.

The window trim is supposed to be semi gloss black no full gloss black that's why there is a color difference on your car. That sem can you ordered should be about the same shade if you decide to repaint your window frames/ quarter windows.

Ams oil is good stuff I run it in my foxbody I beat the crap out of I ran Royal purple in it in 500 miles I was down 2 quarts of oil drained it out put ams oil in 5000 miles was down 1/2 a quart ams oil is good stuff use it in all my car now
Your blue smoke on decel may very likely be related to a clogged filter under the pcv valve in the rear on the intake. My old 89 LX used to smoke on decel till I found out about this. Here’s a video showing where it’s at and one method of removing.

Why didn't You just Sand and Repaint the Trim with the Trim Black? That SEM Trim Black is a Great Spray Paint.
You have a car channel, can fabricate and weld sheet metal, build engines, etc, BUT you can't plug a tire?!?!?!?!
