Great collection, candid footage of Jean is so rare, I’ve never seen the footage of her recording the radio show before - I wonder if there’s more of it somewhere?
I didn't know just how much she not only influenced Marilyn Monroe with her look but also her breathy speaking when being interviewed. Fortunately for Harlow she was better protected from the 'wolves' of Hollywood as her mother kept them at bay. 😔
I wonder what Jean's hair was like from all the bleaching with peroxide, ammonia and soap flakes. Long ago when I was in high school and girls lightened their hear with Sun-In, I heard one girl talking about another girl whose hair was very bleached, saying something like, "Her hair is so bleached, like straw, like you can bend it". Such a vivid comment that I've always remembered it. I'm glad that Jean Harlow quit bleaching her hair and let it grow out natural. It's possible that the chemicals used to bleach Jean's hair leached into her system that was already weakend from the scarlet fever she had at 15 and contribued to her death. Jean was already doomed with kidney failure and the bleaching may have caused her death to occur earlier than it might have otherwise.

That was said by the famous portrait photographer, Clarence Sinclair Bull, who photographed many Hollywood actresses who were taller than Jean Harlow.
