Gregory Leow It ranges in salt level, often catering to a mass appeal, though traditionally, from my grandfather's time, we have always enjoyed milder flavours with less salt. :)
He is so underrated!
There’s a Teochew braised duck stall called dai tong at sim’s place hawker centre. I wonder what you would think about it. It’s been my favourite for 20 odd years.
Not all hokkien style are with sticky gravy. The Seng Heng hokkien Duck Rice/noodle at Redhill Market. You gotta try it, it will blow your mind. Only from 7.30am to 9.30am. 2 hrs, sold out.
At Zion road food Centre, this stall had to close because it was fighting two other duck stalls. There’s still one braised duck stall left. Go review that la.
Come Bedok 85 Feng Shan Market. There is a Teochew Braise Duck stall all the way at the back, last row of the market hawker. It opens morning to afternoon only. It is really good and underrated.
I love this dish. I can definitely see the meat is a little chewy but that i expected from the meat that was taken from the duck breast. I like the gravy, tofu and the rice. I love the gizzards, it is one of my favourites. How much did that dish cost you?
Hmmm... never seem to have noticed this stall before... Moved to this food centre in 2017 you say? Looks like it is time to visit the "army market" food centre again...
I like the editing, shows character. Video quality changes a few times, new camera? Great video again though I'm still not sure if you like liver. Hehe;)
Onat Lopera I made a mistake with the white balance in the beginning! Changed it halfway through! Can't you tell? I love liver! haha! Just hate stewed gizzard lol
@@GregoryLeow thank you Gregory and stupid me. Could have looked myself. Anyway......love your videos. Always get me in the mood for Singapore and I'm super happy to be back at the end of December for a couple days.
Gregory Leow yes, it was at race course road, owner's wife passed on. We called her the human calculator:) food as i remembered was absolutely second to none..
There is one of the authentic taste Teochew braised duck rice is at Seah Im Food Center and is currently 2nd generation is selling it. There is no other outlet.
Very teochew, we like our food mildly flavoured, nice review:)
Martin, can you confirm? I’ve tested other Teochew braised duck stalls where the sauce is made intentionally saltier to be eaten with rice....?
Gregory Leow It ranges in salt level, often catering to a mass appeal, though traditionally, from my grandfather's time, we have always enjoyed milder flavours with less salt. :)
Gregory Leow oh, one more thing, we often eat this with porridge, the braised sauce over porridge is to die for:)
@@msngth only draw back isporridge not filling enough hungry after a while iprefer pei tan or century egg porridge with you tiao
Are there lots of Teochew ethnic in Singapore?

Mukesh Harumal are you referring to Cheok Kee?
Gregory Leow can't remember it's name but it is (or used to be) very crowded during lunchtime. Very expensive too
