Thanks for making these videos, after periodically watching them over the past year, I have memorized the yaku and yakuman, currently I've finished chapter 3 of riichi book one, and I've already played against the A.I. a bit in Yakuza 0 and have done great! I've even bought a mahjong set, thought I doubt I could find anyone to play it in my area.

7:25 I had to think for a second about why that is true. For those wondering, it is because the best-case scenario with a skipping shape is to draw the skipped tile (eg: you have 4-6-7-8 and you draw the 5) that leaves you with a three-sided wait (waiting on the 3, 6, or 9 for the previous example). But if you have a skipping shape where the completed sequence ends in a terminal (eg: 5-7-8-9) drawing the skipped tile (because there is no such thing as a 10 tile for the previous example) you still end up with a two-sided wait (which, as mentioned in the video, it is no different from having a random 5 and drawing the 6).
I don't know if that was immediately obvious to other people, but I figured I would mention it here.

The tiles you are using, are they the one that come with the automatic mahjong table?

The book I mentioned in the video is Riichi Book I by Daina Chiba. You can download it for free from the following link: riichi.dynaman.net/
If I may answer your other question in this same comment, the tiles used in this video are from a high-quality mahjong set my friend got me from Japan.
