    • How To Stamp (Part 2)-...
    This video is a lot longer than expected, but I really wanted to make sure that this video was helpful for those of you who may be struggling with stamping. Ultimately, practice makes perfect, but hopefully these tips helped anyway. If they did, it would be awesome if you gave it a thumbs up and subscribed! Also, if there is anything that you may be having trouble with in terms of nail art, let me know in the comments down below and I will be sure to do a video on it, if I can :)
    (UPDATE)- "Bundle Monster," which is the brand most mentioned in this video, is now called "Maniology." The links have been updated, however, some products shown in this video are no longer available. So sorry :( but hopefully these links will be helpful nonetheless.
    Products Mentioned:
    - Yellow Stopper

    - Bundle Monster Deluxe Nail Stamping Kit **NO LONGER AVAILABLE!! :(
    ^ some similar bundles to the one shown (from the same brand) might be found here:

    Thank you for the tips! Here's another tip for anyone still struggling. When I started stamping, I couldn't pick up an image to save my life! Blue film was off, I was sure I was woking very fast, I tried different scraping directions, rolling vs straight up and down techniques with the stamper, and tried all different amounts of pressure. Nothing worked! As a last resort, I tried priming my plates! I figured the blue film could be leaving a residue. I used dish soap and a nylon bristled scrub brush and went over the plates for a few seconds each, then rinsed and dried them very well. Shockingly, I could pick up an image the first time and every time after that! Now it's the first thing I do with all my plates. I've never had any damage or scratching from the nylon brush. You only have to do it once if you're struggling to pick up an image. Just clean the polish off the plate with acetone after that. Hope this helps someone else!

    OMG I just made a discovery, warm up your plates! Metal stays pretty cold, and when you clean with acetone it makes it even colder...the cold shocks the polish dry so run under hot water a while and dry off. A big thing too, make sure there's no air movement, fan, open window, air vent. That thin layer dries so fast lol

    Honestly, I use silly putty instead of a stamper and the little card that comes with otter box glass screen protectors (to push bubbles out) Silly putty picks up so well and is a buck at dollar stores. And I like to use polishes that are getting old and tacky lol.

    hi. thank you for this video, but i have a problem that was not mentioned in your video. I just bought a few stamping plates from 2 different 100 yen shops here in Japan as well as a clear squishy stamper and a plastic scraper. I've tried MANY different polishes and for some reason every time i try to pick up the polish with my stamper, it never picks of the polish. I'm not sure why, and i would really like to get use out of these items. Thank you!
    edit: im so dumb, i forgot to take off the sticker! I hadnt realized because the sticker was clear

      Emily Nora most of the time it’s the polish for some reason some work better then others but you can try roughing up the stamper a little NOT a crazy amount just lightly I think it was a recommendation that came with mine, I know I seen it somewhere. Just get your file like the block ones and the lightest sanding one the one you use before buffing use that and just hit it a couple of time with that and make sure it’s clean no oils nothing just lightly clean it with alcohol 💕

    • @Traciesell
      @Traciesell 3 роки тому

      Oh my God that’s genius! So I was just trying to do my nails with a brush and could not get the design I wanted at all. So I decided to take my little squeeze bottles with the tiny little applicator tips (that I use for my henna designs) and fill it with slightly watered down acrylic paint. Which actually worked great… I was able to draw my designs as if I were writing with a fine point pen instead of trying to use a brush. But, now I want to do the reverse and try using my nail stuff for my henna LOL

      Mayrel Black you are supposed to wash your stamper in soap and water first to prime.😊 hope that helps

      Try using acetone instead of nail polish remover.

    • @gypsydonovan
      @gypsydonovan 4 роки тому

      One thing is to wipe it off right after! Every time I tried remover or even straight acetone my plate got cloudy. I found just rubbing with it doesn't work, you then have to rub with whatever you use for cleaning with nothing on it. Plates look like new afterward.

    I didn't get a scraper with my plates, so I just used a old credit card. My stampers are from Born Pretty, which isn't the best, but I was wondering why they weren't working, and you answered it.

    I was having a real hard time last night while practicing with mine, I have a few different ones too, including the Salon Express which is awful, and wouldn't recommend it either, but since I got mine from eBay the scraper doesn't have a "metal" piece, it's actually plastic, and does work really well. I finally decided to prime the new clear jelly stamper that I have, and try again... Nope still didn't work! And I'm using Stamping Polish, I was like wth? 😌 Then, even before watching your video I tried "Rolling" very lightly, and the images came out great! So you're definitely right, every stamper is used differently, and you just have to practice. But thank you for your video, you just confirmed everything that I did 😊 Have you used the Born Pretty products? I'm wondering what you think of them.

    • @LilypadPolish
      @LilypadPolish  6 років тому +1

      I'm glad you were able to make it work!! Stamping can get so frustrating, but once you get it, it's so much fun. I have not yet tried any Born Pretty products but from what I hear, they're nice, especially for the low prices. I've had my eye on the Clear Jelly Stamper for quite some time so I might just have to invest and buy that one too!

      LilypadPolish I bought the Born Pretty giant jelly stamper thinking that was my problem. Nope! Still can't pick up an image! I got some plates from Pueen and still nothing. I'm so frustrated! Lol :) I'm going to try and roll it with a lighter hand and see how that goes. Thank you for the tips! :)

      Sorry to hear you're having difficulties with the stamper, but with some practice, I'm sure you'll be able to stamp perfectly in no time. Best of luck :)

    • @animallovefest143
      @animallovefest143 6 років тому

      Cortney Mikel Were you able to pick up some images after trying with a lighter hand? I know that my problem was that I was pushing too hard, and I found that some images on the same plate picked up perfectly, and a couple that just wouldn't work. So keep that in mind when practicing, and try different images, you might have better luck ☺

    • @animallovefest143

      LilypadPolish Thank you! You should definitely get the clear jelly stamper, it is so much easier to position the image. Maybe get one from Born Pretty, and do a video & review? Happy Holidays! 🎄🎅

    I was told to not use nail polish remover for your plates, to only use pure acetone because polish remover leaves behind stuff since most removers have oils in them.

    When I scrape the polish off the plate it leaves trails around the image so when I stamp the image on to my nail there’s always trail marks behind the image. You get it so crisp and clean, maybe it’s my scraper I’ll have to change my scraper and practice more 😔 xxxx

      Assuming that your stamper and stamping plate is working properly, I would just have to recommend trying a different technique. Whenever I buy a new stamper, it usually takes a little bit of trial and error to figure out what works best. I hope this helps!

    • @LilypadPolish
      @LilypadPolish  7 років тому +3

      I'm glad you find them helpful! I, too, struggled immensely with the smudging of the polish once applying a top coat. It's a mistake I still make from time to time if I'm not careful. My best suggestion is to use a large bead/gloop of top coat. I always make sure that my brush has a lot of polish on it so that the polish easily glides across my nail and the brush itself doesn't really make any contact with the design, so it doesn't smudge. I hope that made sense!

    For people that have problem with picking an image up on the stamper: you might just be too slow. There shouldn't be more than 5 seconds between putting the polish on the plate and applying it to your nails.

    Curious, can you Stam with gel polish? Wouldn't it be so much easier? You wouldn't need to worry about rushing in any way shape or form and you wouldn't have to keep cleaning your plate bc the Polish won't dry.

    • @LilypadPolish
      @LilypadPolish  3 роки тому

      you technically caaaan but it’s a lot more difficult. because gel polish doesn’t dry, it’s harder to pick up with the stamper. the reason nail polish is able to be picked up is because it is partially dry. you just gotta find that sweet spot! hope that makes sense :)
