- Hi & Welcome to the channel, I own a car showroom in the southwest and today I want to show you around a Range Rover Sport HSE Luxury SDV6 L320 that we have recently taken in to stock and whether you should consider one!
Please remember to like & subscribe to the channel!
I have had this model for about 3 years now. The first thing I did was to have the engine remapped. The power increased to about 340 bhp. Now a much smoother drive, better performance and greater economy, I average about 34 mpg. The vehicle has now done 130,000 miles and has been regularly maintained by LR specialists. Had a couple of warning light from time to time and a split inlet manifold. Apart from that it has been trouble free..... great car !
How do I get the engine remapped
@@renebetancourtiii1456 There are plenty of places that will do it. I used Celtic Tuning in Newquay but there are others.... just Google it !
Would you be so kind to tell me what stage I asked for and how much I should pay for the upgrade thank you very much
I love my recently bought l320 full service history belts water pump done all new disc's and pads been no trouble towing twin axle caravan . It's the black edition always wanted one and found one locally with a years extended warranty just for piece of mind .it's had one problem turbo top pipe blew off but just re fitted correctly and it runs like a dream a cracking car
Great video, convinced me I was making the right decision. I done lots of research, and finally picked one up last week. Very happy so far
Fantastic news Steve 😎 Enjoy your new car!
Great video full of brilliant advice/content
Thinking about this model & you’re helping me decide 👍🏻
Very informative and honest video , much appreciated by a prospective buyer. Dave
Great presentation. I love Range Rovers as well. I have a 2005 L332 supercharged. Absolutely adore it. However, if I ever decide to get a newer car I'd consider the Range Rover Sport pre-2013.
Best presentation I’ve seen yet 👍🏻
Thanks very much 😎
Got the same model, year and spec. I love it 👍🏻
Great video as always and always informative 👍
Thanks so much 😃
Very informative... Thanks
Nice content mate appreciate the info. I’m deciding if to get a 2015 Range Rover vogue or range sport 2016 and what models ? Seems a minefield any info much appreciated. Both seem same fuel economy I love the biggest cars and found sport maybe bit short and small inside ? Not that much difference in price is it way better to get the vogue? Thanks a lot 😊
Thank you very much! At the end of the day it is a personal preference and they’re both fantastic vehicles! My two pence would be: the L405 driving experience is unmatched, it is so comfortable and capable! Not to say that the L494 Sport is a bad by any means and the Sport is certainly easier to park and drive through country lanes as I do.
In terms of specification, I would advise to get at least the HSE on the L494 Sport and if you can the Vogue SE on the L405 as they do offer a lot more and the resale value is better too 😃
@@condorvehiclesalesltd thats great thanks so much for the info really has helped. been looking for ages and did want that 4 x 4 big car experience so did want to know if the sport was big enough but sounds like both give that feel as well.
Very nice Tudor 54 👏🏼👏🏼
Hey, nice review. I'm surprised you get around 30 MPG.. I get 25.4 MPG max. It's been 4 years since i imported my sdv6 since here in Nairobi kenya. And I love it!. Most of the issues I've had are with the door locks, And now the auto tailgate is acting up, but hoping it will be sorted. It's lovely car.. I'm not selling anytime.
I've got 1.6 2008 mondeo and I get 32mpg :)
@@brian7892He's talking about his luxury SUV and you came out talking about your lawnmower.
@@Autonomia_para_Puerto_Rico I'm just saying mondeo is shit
Great Cars!
Great video as usual, being nosey what did you sell this particular vehicle for and what is your warranty length please .😊
Thanks Stephen! This Range Rover is still for sale, check out website out 😃we offer a very good, comprehensive warranty for 6 months as standard but can extend it for up to 3 years 👍
Sorry for the random comment but what watch are you wearing in this? Really like the RR review, great cars.
Thanks! It's the Tudor Black Bay with the 41mm dial.
Nice.
I have 2013 HSE black. At present the mileage is 63000, when should I replace cam belt?
What a great car! If it hasn’t had a cam-belt change previously I would look to do it pretty soon just from the point of view that it’s now 10 years old 😃
Off topic but if you have any experience on the 5.0 v8 discovery 4 not sold in the Uk but you can get them many thx
I’ve had the 5.0 supercharged Range Rover L320 which was a phenomenal engine! I wish we had them in the Discovery 4’s!
Would you recommend i get this or the e53 X5?
Definitely this. Much better tech and much more modern 👌
To be or not to be! L322 or L320? This has been bugging me to death. Could you put me out of my misery please? Car will be for pleasure within the city and sometimes long motorway cruise. Your presentations are top-notch, keep up the good work.
Thank you very much! They’re both fantastic vehicles and both offer a lot of pros! The L320 Sport would be easier to drive and park within the city and is still very comfortable on the motorway runs, however the L322 is a king amongst Range Rovers! The L320 will feel more agile when driving and the L322 can sometimes feel a bit disconnected on country roads. Still very capable but something to bear in mind! On a motorway run, the comfort of cruising is fantastic! I loved my L322 Westminster with the 4.4 TDV8 😎
@@condorvehiclesalesltd I’m leaning more to the L323 but are there things I need to look out for between the two, in case I decide to change to the L320? Do you do PPI, pre purchase inspection for potential buyers? Thanks for your prompt response.
Is the 30 miles to the galón Imperial Galons or US Galón ? Because if we calculate miles to the US galón that would be nearly 50kms per galón!
Here in the UK we use the imperial Gallon :D
What’s your thoughts on the crank failures on these engines mate? I’ve personally known someone who had this happen to them and it does seem quite common. The car also had a full LR service history
I’m touching a piece of timber as I type this but I’ve not had one fail on me just as yet and I’ve also heard people with full LR history have the failure too. From what I can gather it’s a bit of a lottery but more so with the SDV6 engines. The TDV6 isn’t putting so much torque and power through the crank so it definitely seems to be the one with less issues!
My SDV6 is now on 164k miles with regular servicing and runs a dream!
@@condorvehiclesalesltd haha that cracked me up lol always better to be safe isn’t it haha. All the best for 2023 mate and keep up the fantastic content! Cheers, Leon b
Apart from a theoretical crank shaft design/machine issue, some other slow developing issues have to be present as well. It has been proven that the backpressure introduced by a clogged transmission fluid increases the failure chances in a dramatic way. It's safe to assume that changing the fluids on a regular basis almost eliminates the chances of a catastrophic engine failures. Big red flag should be the cold start rattling.
@@alincorha1274 it is the actual design of the crank that is the issue. See LR time
@@pistonslapuk I'm not buying just the low graphite content or else we would see crank shaft snapping just out of the production line. I strongly believe at least 3 issues have to overlap. Weak metal/design/machine issue, oil viscosity/feeding issue (depending on many, many variables) and back pressure mechanism transmitted via transmission box/torque converter. You could eliminate 2 of the issues and be a lot less worried.
Iv a 09 3.6 these engines just all seem to have problems
The 3.6 is a great engine in the Sport! Still have their quirks to look out for, in particular the turbo oil feed pipes 👍
@@condorvehiclesalesltd have you any tips or upgrades for the 3.6
I have the opportunity to buy a 2012 with a slipping transmission for $7500. Worth it? Transmission replacement as a diy project, yes/no?
I guess it depends on how much you value your spare time/sanity? 😅 if you’re skilled and able enough to, could be worth a punt! Although I will always recommend trying Dr Tranny Lube Guard. I’ve used it on a couple of older Range Rovers that I traded out & had slight gearbox judder and it worked miracles! That’s not to say it will fix this one but for the little money it is, gotta be worth a try if you do buy one!
Thats really good advice thank you. I will consider it over the next week while I research.
I found transmissions for about $1k USD (about £800) online and have everything but a transmission jack. Harbor freight has them cheap so if I could get this sorted for under $1500 I think it could be a fun truck.
I am on the colonized side of the pond do you recommend any suppliers for service materials and replacement parts?
Any common or major issues with the right hand drive version of this vehicle that you know of?
RR 🎉
