    Maybe the only video out there that shows in detail how to properly secure the end of the parking brake cable with the spring that the parking brake cable goes through (the spring that attached to the backing plate). Great detail in this video. Subscribed!!

    By far the most comprehensive and detailed video. This works on LR4 as well. Thanks for the excellent tutorial.

      Great to hear! Indeed, the L319 and L320 share a lot of the braking components, so the videos apply to the Disco4 as well.

    Thank you so much for this tutorial. I just got one of my dream cars a 2013 L320 with a 5.0 pretty much in mint condition but recently the brake started grinding pretty bad since winter started so I decided to order rear brakes. It’s always nice to have some reassurance when doing something for the first time! Just like your brakes at first I only replaced the pads and rotors (at first I was thinking this was just going to be a normal break job lol) and quickly realized that the parking brake was pretty much froze in place from rust. I ended up stripping the whole thing down spent a lot of time sanding and cleaning up the backing plate and everything went together smoothly and now no more grinding! Thank you so much my friend 👊🏽

      I know what you mean 😊 The L320 was my dream car as well, but I wanted the 3.0 diesel with the 8-speed automatic. I'm really glad you found my tutorial useful! This is precisely the reason I make all the videos on my channel.

    Fantastic video. I just took my rear disc off my newly acquired Disco 3 to find parts missing ,pieces and a jumble of parts. This is the only video that fully explains what do thanks so much. 👍

    By far the best video Ive seen on EPB. Works on Range Rover Sport 2008

      Thank you very much! Indeed, the same procedure should apply to all 1st generation Sports (2005 - 2013), as well as all Discoveries 3 and 4.

    Extremely informative and detailed explanation. Much more clear than any document. Should have seen it before servicing my D4. Thanks a lot.

    Thanks for putting together a detailed and well explained procedure video. I’m sure I will be using it as reference during reassembly of rear brakes after figuring out how to repair the loud screeching EPB 😂

    Excellent video with great detail. When I renewed my handbrake shoes I had 2 little springs in the pack. There wasn’t any on the old shoes and I didn’t have a clue were they went. I will look tomorrow but I’m fairly sure my springs are much weaker than the ones you have. I asked on the forum and was told no to bother with them. Also I didn’t know about the spring clips needing to face towards the adjuster. Great video and I subscribed. 👌

    What an absolutely fantastically detailed tutorial you have created here. Thank you so much for this. It gave me the confidence to attempt this myself on my MY06 Disco 3. 👍

      Thank you very much! Were you successful in changing the shoes?

    • @AdeptHavelock
      @AdeptHavelock Рік тому

      @TheMissingBolt Yes. Kind of. In the end they didn't need changing. They were the original LR (AP brand) ones from 2005 with hardly any wear! (It's only done 40,000 miles).
      Your guide helped me fully strip, clean, treat, reassemble and adjust them. They work like new now.
      Again, many thanks for taking the time 🙏

    Thank you for a great video. I started feeling that same vibration a couple of weeks ago and didnt know what it was. Now I know, because my rear left wheel is seized solid and the parking brake on that side will not release. The actuator sounds normal when i engage and release it, and the right rear brake works and releases normally. I'm hoping I can somehow release the left side manually so I can pull the disc off. I'm not sure how I can do that, so if you have any advice, it would be gratefully received!

    • @TheMissingBolt
      @TheMissingBolt  4 місяці тому

      Sorry for the late reply. If the setup is completely seized, then it's possible the shoes have fused against the brake disc because of the heat. Since you can't turn it, you can't slacken the adjuster in order to remove the disc. The only solution I see is to use an angle grinder and cut the disc from its side, doing your best not to cut into the wheel hub as well. You'll then have to replace the disc and the brake shoes. If you've already solved the problem, please let me know how you did it.

      @@TheMissingBolt No worries, thanks for the reply! I was lucky that i didn't have to do all that in the end. I rocked the car backwards and forwards by moving the shifter between D and R with a little throttle. After about 6 or 7 go's it went bang and released :) I haven't used the parking brake since, but at least I didn't need to cut the disc off. I'll get the shoes and rear discs replaced as soon as I can.

    Instructions on the adjustments to fit shoes to cables

    • @TheMissingBolt
      @TheMissingBolt  4 місяці тому

      In the video where I change the rear discs (ua-cam.com/video/PR9EzwLSDAA/v-deo.html) I explain the procedure. Another good video with the detailed adjustment steps is ua-cam.com/video/50uj0UDV8Nc/v-deo.html. Lastly, I strongly recommend you download Bodsy's Brake Bible v1.6, as it explains the procedure very well.
